Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

Yes, it is.

I believe there is different circuitry in the HVD top to run at 7.4 as well as 3.7.

Right, I should of listed that as one of the design differences. I was thinking more in terms of performance if there would be any differences between the two.

Based on the dimensions I have seen on several sites, it would seem that the 600 mah battery is a couple mm shorter than the 750 mah.

My question would be, how could two 14500, 750mah or 600mah, batteries be anything but 14mm X 500mm ??

Because they are? Or at least might be. It's a well discussed issue with 18650s for instance. You'll find lots of e-cig and similar stuff that works with some but not others for mechanical reasons. The 'standard' seems largely voluntary, and the makers are all looking for as much volume inside as they can have.

The very fact that such things are common, and it's known, no doubt drove the OP's question. If he'd assumed as you do he'd never have asked, right?

I'm new to fuckcombustion. I don't know how to post a new thread and I need help getting started with my Omicron V2. I'm not sure this is the proper way to go about asking for help on here but does anyone have any experience with the Omicron V2?

Howdy. Welcome to the fun. Probably no more than a few hundred of us own and us V2X's, what's the problem.

Well I received the OV2 in the mail and rushed to the shop to pick up a $40 gram of wax and I may have well just flushed that $40 down the toilet from the looks of things.

I melted probably .7G of the wax down using the funnel with a BIC lighter and primed the cartridge just as suggested by holding down the power button 6 seconds and I can only produce just the taste of the wax, no clouds whatsoever.

I don't feel like the unit is clogged. I seem to be able to draw in air when i pull in slowly or moderately (I've been careful to not pull in with all my might). However, when I look down into the cartridge I don't see the red heating surface anymore, so maybe it is clogged?

Bummer. Sorry you're having trouble, maybe we can save it?

If you've been running it dry to "see the red heating surface" you may well have killed it. Don't do dry runs. That includes running it a lot trying to 'prime' it if you're not getting vapor (meaning oil has not reached the wicks to cool them).

I suspect you didn't follow the loading directions if you loaded .7. Don't load more than .5 at first. I'm guessing you didn't preheat the center section? The wax no doubt stalled out because it hit cold metal on the way down. Now you've got dry wicks and an air bubble trapped below the load. Not good.

Best is to probably salvage the oil and start with a fresh cart (as this one could be trashed). If you want to take a fly at recovery you'll need to heat the center section up fairly hot (remember you now have to melt the goods too, not just keep them liquid) while holding the bottom 1/4 or so of it in your fingers and twisting it back and forth to heat from all sides. Don't let the end under your fingers get uncomfortable or you'll melt the seals under your fingers. Expect some smoke (vapor) out the top, be careful not to get the bottom too hot and if the heater isn't blown from dry burns you may recover.

Next I strongly recommend not running it dry for any reason, more guys wreck stuff than fix it that way. Then follow the loading instructions on the D9 site. Weigh your empty cart, add half a gram at most, perheat the center before dropping the load, add more when you get to .2 of empty and you should be fine.

Good luck.

Sorry if this has been discussed, I couldn't search it.

I can get a $80 Omicron V2 on eBay but is the V2.5 that much better that I should spend about $130 on one of those?

Also I really like how the O-PHOS does pass thru charging like the NO2. I couldn't see in the manual but does the Omi 2.5 do pass thru charging as well? I may have to go for the OPHOS instead of the Omi V2/V2.5 if it's that much easier to charge.

I'm mainly just thinking about having it with me and having the battery run out and not just being able to plug it in and run it, don't wanna get stuck with a dead unit while I'm on the move and not be able to recharge it!

Just be aware that if you buy it from ebay and if you ever need warranty service, D9 will require you to purchase a warranty through them for $40 since they do not honor warranties for items bought on auction sites such as ebay.

Alright... I think I'm going to get an O-PHOS simply on account of its simpler design and ability to do pass thru charging.

Gonna get it from D9 for the warranty. I'm still working my way through the thread but if I have less than 0.5~ of goo should I just wait until I get more before I try and fill it?

Too bad it's obsolete then, isn't it? D9 sold the line to someone else I understand who will be selling them.

You probably want the replacement, Omicron Light. It's actually a little shorter. And no heat shield. I've got one, I like it.

You might want to get a few extra 2.4 Ohm carts, not only can one go without warning, but it's nice to have a few loaded to choose from. Also a few 'Doob Tubes' to store them in (smell tight too).

Half a gram is the recommended starting load. You'll need to add more 100 or so hits into it (when you get to about .2 left, weigh your carts empty so you'll know).

Good luck, you'll like it I'm sure. Nearly everyone does.

Thanks! I don't see too many places selling the Omicron Light though. Is this a legit reseller?

They are changing over right now, which is why O-Phos is 'out of stock' (perhaps terminally?) and the Omicron Light doesn't have anything on it on the Planet Vape site. I bet that's fixed in a week or two. If you can afford the extra 20 bucks (I believe $90 is the list price) PV will ship for free (and fast). You can get the unit from them (very strong supporter of this Forum) with a box of carts for not much more.....

There have also been some great discounts and free cart deals from PV, they just might make us an attractive offer. If you can afford to wait a few weeks you might be very glad you did?

Fortunately ,Delta9Vapes has them in stock now ,but if they are out ,VaporNation (Marina del

Rey ,Cali) carries full line & accessories ( free s/h ) ~ Also ,they offer 2-3 yr extended warranty

for nominal cost which is recommended for 'heavy vaporists' ~

i love my O-Phos but have had the head/switch pull loose and need to be reattached several times on my black one. (JB Weld fixed it better than new, imo)
i hope the Omi Light doesn't have same issue.

The O-Phos handles 2.4ohm and 1.5ohm Omi carts and TV LV Dart very well.
any info on the battery in Omi Light as compared to O-Phos?

Thus far I'm impressed with the Omicron Light, but have never used the other, using 2.4s and DARTS. I assume 1.5s are good as well.

IIRC I read somewhere it's 900 mAh (which seems about right given the size), not sure about O-Phos there again.

Now you know as much as me.
