OLD MATE (formerly Medgrind)

The bare metal steel looks so badass too. Here's hoping Kevin bypasses Old Mate and sends mine directly to me without the logo on top :p

It does look awesome with a bare top! In a way i'd also prefer that. Looks very slick and It would allow people to easily experiment with DIY spinning-patterns too.
Otoh: it's up to @MCH oc, he might be working on something cool.
So i'm very curious to see the final design!
In the end: as long as it spins and grinds nicely i'll be a happy vaper, no matter what the top looks like.

That looks mesmerizing

I think this might be the first vape-accessory that i'll have to share with my cat?
If she masters the technique this could end up to be the first cat-driven grinder! :D

Honestly kind of torn about making a preorder. I've been going back and forth in my head for weeks now.
It looks very close to perfect to me, but the top/lid layer looks a little thin for my liking.
Also wondering if the top magnet is still a bit too strong/exposed. @felvapes seemed to struggle a little to get the lid off.
I'm not usually an early adopter, I don't have the money for it. So I tend to wait till things are refined.
But don't get me wrong, it looks super nice and I'll probably end up ordering one.

The price is only going to go up, hard for anything to be perfect, but I trust the man making these and the last changes...

Really dig how the spin looks without any logo or anything, just reflection, so cool!

That reminded me of an idea I had for this grinder. Let me know what you guys think.
Since one of its' main features is the wonderful spinning, and considering Ben has access to a laser engraver, what if he offered lid designs that created motion effects while spinning. I can think of a few different designs, but kinda like this:

I know some people wouldn't be into it, but it could be a cool option. Would have to keep the designs somewhat classy and not gimmicky.
Edit: Could probably even make a design that looks non-descript, but when you spin the lid it reveals OLD MATE DESIGNS or something

Yeah I thought it would be cool before, but seeing how it spins and looks without anything, I would prefer it that way now myself... Logo on the bottom is fine

I try not to be, as often I regret it. Just went through this with the “Revolve” stem, their V2 is much better, less than a year after I bought the expensive OG. New shiny, spinning metal, always looks enticing. Since I don’t know anything about how one designs all those cutting surfaces in a grinder, I tend to buy from companies that have a product history. This might be the best grinder ever made, but I’d wait to hear from the early adopters…..

This seems like a very reasonable position. I have skipped plenty of v1 vapes because I wanted more info. I figure the trade off of saving on the preorder is sometimes worth waiting for a more polished product. My favorite glass piece is slightly improved from when I pre-ordered it, but I am still satisfied.

In the OM case, I figured I was not risking much because there were existing 2 piece ones in the wild and videos seem convincing. That being said, 10 early adopters can have a radically different experience once something goes into full production.

Anyway looks like we will all find out soon!

It would seem to me that while it is useful to know that you can grind 3 g at once, it may be easier to do one gram 3 times to achieve the same end result.

Does anyone know of any plans to make a 4 part grinder in the future?

Yeah the 3g just seemed like smashing and abusing the bud for no good reason.
If you watch the longer one you get to see the grinder open after and not gummed up because it cut rather than smoosh, that's why it still spins at the end (my bcg vid takes about the same time to grind but only .5g)
You can see the grind is nice and fluffy still too
I'd usually do less myself
Was just showing the capability/speed of the grinder and grind consistency with a big load
It chews 1-2 grams super quickly

Thanks for the videos!

Are you using a fine plate? I'm fairly certain the BCG with coarse plate would go through that grind as fast or faster then seen in the OM video (which appeared to be a good amount of work to finish the grind)

I'm not usually an early adopter,
Wise words for electronic vapes if on a budget with no spare device if troubles arise but as long as you get support everything usually works out great...that said, there is not too much to go wrong with a stainless steel grinder.
That is nice to know as I always fill all my grinder area with bud.
(which appeared to be a good amount of work to finish the grind)
That looked easy compared to my old grinder, I usually have to use a silicon mat on my LBCG with a medium plate to get it moving...to be fair, it may need cleaning as it is now 2 years old (I will clean it when my Medgrind arrives).:haw:
