Yes, 5mg is more like it for me. But after a couple weeks adjustment, these doses are well tolerated. He was even making extra money by driving for one of the ride-sharing services.

Long topic as to why these doses were used. Bottom line: so far so good.

...Other studies are now
examining the devastating effect of loneliness and despair
in raising the inflammatory markers in our blood,
and the
immense benefits of positive emotion and group engagement
in improving outcomes. Old wives' tales come around.

.....The shotgun use of a complete cannabis
extract is still the most plausible approach. To take a leap
with the above findings, it's plausible that THC:CBD ratios
that produce a positive outlook are more likely to be helpful
than those that do not. If you feel joy and express kindness
towards others, you're more likely to get well.

I believe that the current overemphasis on CBD, a trend
that is rooted in the old anti-cannabis prejudices, divisive
socio-political issues and powerful profit motives, is not very
helpful. Not that CBD is useless, far from it. It has some very
credible potential, but it seems least useful used by itself.
.............................................................................
RE loneliness and despair: I recently read a study which showed that
ANGER in elderly was even more harmful than loneliness, as a marker of their
overall health. But emotions play a role and positive emotions are always better.

CBD overemphasis is a problem. I assist medical patients and the only reason I
steer them to CBD products is that THC/CBD products are still illegal here AND
our medical program has obscene costs for the real deal (THC + CBD).
1000 mg of oil is $208......
Since most bud is very high in THC, I also explain that if they are getting (illegal)
flower, then mixing in some CBD product can yield a much better ratio of THC :CBD,
than using either alone.
Full spectrum is a superior product--- hopefully that access will come sooner than later.

Even in Calif where it's all legal, it's very hard to find
full extracts. The readily available distillates are mostly
THC flavored with terpenes from 50 gallon drums. Little
therapeutic potential due to absence of other cannabinoids.
You're right to advise mixing in some high CBD material if
the base is any "recreational" product.

Making your own RSO from flowers is a big pain compared
to buying ready-made dark oil. But.

Having run the entire gamut over the last 10 months
I'd say that for people starting out on a cancer case,
finding a tested strain that isn't excessively stimulating
or depressant, developing a practical extraction method
and then buying it at the half pound to full pound level
is probably the most economical and practical method.

It's unlikely that recreational level doses can have any
real effect in cancer beyond some relief of chemo nausea.

Yes, they seem to have a good set of products, conscientiously analyzed and packaged. I don't imagine they are cheap. Do you know prices?

And they are in Canada, and Federal US policies continue to create serious problems, to the best of my knowledge to this day, even going from a 100% legal Canadian province to a 100% legal US State like Washington. People have been denied entry to the US if they as much as admit to having worked in any Cannabis-related field.

The vendors who are selling ONE gram of "medical" oil for $50-100 are making what I'd call un unconscionable profit on the patients who need it most.

Consider an inexpensive ounce of flowers at $150 with a THC content of 18%. That's 5 grams of THC. Given a 65% typical RSO THC content, with a good alcohol extraction those flowers should yield around 8 grams of 65% THC oil for that $150, or $18/gram. It pays to make your own.

The packaging is what initially caught my interest it allows for precise dosing. As for the cost 2 ml of 69 % thc Sativa rso or 1390 mg thc is $50.CDN. I thought some of their online retailers were US based but it seems they are are all Canadian.

Wow, those are insane doses! 500-700mg THC? I'm an all day micro doser and I'm pretty toked after ~8mg THC! Not saying crazy high in the medical sense of course but just from a regular user perspective

up to three thoussand mg is the norm for canccer dose... some people 5,000 mg ( 5 grams oil)... 50 grams of RSO have been reported to be ingested at once with a next day sludge exit ( cancer?) out the backside

RSO is a blanket example of cannabis glandular resin oil ( C-GRO)

At 50g of oil, that sure takes care of your min daily
nutritional fat intake - and sludge output. There's a
cult following for some organic cleanses that claim
you can see some evil structures flushed out the back
door. But it's the cleanse itself that aggregates into
globules. They sell detox pads in Asia that are applied
to the sole of the foot. Overnight they turn black, which
proves they are removing terrible toxins. I was curious
and got a package once in Japan. The overlooked detail
is that after the backing is removed they turn black on
their own. At least these only cost like $1, unlike some
of the more serious cons. A dear friend died of a quite
operable cancer because he fell under the spell of a
con man who treated him with a very expensive secret
formula, and told him that the tumor was only expanding
so it could burst and be expelled. My friend couldn't be
talked out of it, and died after giving the charlatan
everything he owned plus what could be collected from
friends and admirers.

I think many people see cancer as a foreign matter,
like infection. Cancer starts in healthy cells that are
part of healthy organs, so the idea that a primary tumor
could be "washed out" by anything short of a scalpel
or a shaped charge is just wishful thinking.

@hans solo that seems like very fair pricing. A good
way to work dosing is to use an inexpensive milligram
level scale. This type has turned out to be quite good
if you learn to average multiple readings.

https://www.amazon.com/PoLLux-Preci...ligram+scale&qid=1558217894&s=gateway&sr=8-27

This type handles more range and doesn't annoyingly
time out to save batteries. Well worth the extra money
if you have to regularly weigh out a patient's doses.

Thanks for the link I manage to calculate my potency using the manufactures specifications.
I blend 2ml of their seawarp oil which contains 1500 mg of THC into 14.8ml of mct oil.
This gives me 1500 mg in 15ml of tincture at the potency of 5mg of THC per drop or 100mg per 1 ml.
I blend my CBD at the same strength.

thanks for clarifiaction @fernand

the way it works from what I've found... the cell does not express correctly ( cancer) .the molecules that keep cells living either express or not... the expression of signalling molecules ( bio-active lipids) can help the cell manage itself and clean/ move around the lipid fat via that signalling.... there are all these terms to describe apoptosis and I'll not go there but that is the idea.
Well, providing extra signals to that cellular activity via ingesting bio-active metabolites / lipids known as phytocannabinoids from cannabis ETC.... every time I look deeper into this endocannabinoid system shows as our cancer defense system...

I dunno. There's a temptation to fit things into a framework
too soon. The lab observations so far are overwhelmingly
complex. We've even seen cases of cannabinoids increasing
the viability of cancer cells, although the vast majority of
observations points to 1) selective increase in apoptosis of
cancer cells and 2) inhibition of the angiogenesis that builds
new blood supplies for tumors. Plus 3) increasing penetration
by chemo agents.

The pharmaceutical companies started a trend of picking
a portion of the action of a drug, and building a story that
makes it look like we understand far more than we do. For
instance, antidepressants that inhibit re-uptake of the neuro-
transmitter Serotonin are promoted as Selective Serotonin
Reuptake Inhibitors. That sounds very scientific, and helps
sell their pills. In reality, this is a detail in a far more complex
picture, and is effectively just marketing BS. Because every
neurotransmitter has vastly different roles in different cell
groups, and we don't yet have any idea of how mood or thought
happens, let alone any coherent picture of how it all ties together.

It's as if someone said car engines are simple. You press
the gas pedal and it goes faster. True enough. But it explains
nothing.

We've made incredible progress over the last 20 years, but
we're dealing with a biochemical-electrical-structural system
that's way way more complex than we expected. The whole
endocannabinoid system was only discovered 20 years ago.
It seems to have big effects on mood. Hey, what happened
to that tidy Serotonin explanation that was hawked by the
Prozac vendors? We're just barely scratching the surface.

It's as if they wanted us to justify the benefits we see.
When they say "there's no solid evidence" we can point
to the hundreds of cellular level studies and ask "do you
see anything that shows that there's NO activity against
cancers?" -- when it's your turn to be sick, and it REALLY
matters to you, come back and we'll talk about it. M'kay?
You can be part of the placebo only group, and others
will get the unproven cannabis - whaddya think ?

@fernand how many cannabinoid signals does it take to get to the center and kill cancer ( owl sucking on lollipop will get back to you later on that).....
my basic explaination- cannabis activates the fat, lipophilic non selective agents that do what they will non toxic like and actually very healthy for our cells' expression.
plus the further we look into it the more in a box the science becomes to the point of ( we have finally figured out that one compound out of 148) ... Next million dollars for the next one ca ching$$ pharma.

His experience was that a THC : CBD ratio of 3:1 was the best for cancer patients.
Anecdotal, yes, but based on a large number of patients.

In the one colorectal cancer patient I'm most familiar with,
a THC:CBD ratio of 4:1 to 8:1, with daily oral + suppository
THC doses in the 500-700mg range has been well tolerated
and seems to be having greatest benefit in suppressing chemo
side effects, on outlook, on cancer markers, and on the size
and activity of the tumor(s) as seen in CAT and PET scans.

Wish I had some of this info a while back when my cousin passed from a rare form of abdominal cancer. He ended up using a lot of RSO which didn't really seem to help much or at all.

As someone who's looking to incorporate CBD into my daily intake as a preventative measure, what do you all think would be a good thc:cbd ratio for me ? One of the ratios listed above or maybe something closer to 1:1 ? TIA for any & all responses.

Yooo guys! Got myself some beautiful sticky Charlotte's Web in the other day, it's amazing. It's been taken off my supplier's site so I can't check but IIRC it's 24% CBD. Been mixing it about 1:2 to 1:3 with a 24-28% THC 100% sativa called Red Congolese, which is a god damned espresso of a flower. I vape it after one of my daily naps and I'm READY TO GO! Lmao I normally just sit there groaning for half an hour.

How do you feel the increased CBD dose affects the THC buzz?

The only way I can feel the effects of CBD is indirectly, e.g. by the reduced THC sensation. It seems to last as long as the other cannabinoids.

Oh, yay @Penny Wise, thanks! Glad you reminded me, I have an eighth of 28% Red Congolese in ye Olde Stashe.

I've been coming to the conclusion that much as I love low dose Indicas, and much as I adore low dose Sativas, those so-called Hybrids are only good for confusing the natives. Maybe mixing in a bit of a CBD rich strain would improve them?

so you didn't take only CBD? i also feel it's just restraining the THC, and also make me a bit heavy,
so i can't tell what benefits come from it. i didn't take clean or full spectrum cbd to know any better.

I'm starting to think that the commercial CBD pen cartridges aren't worth much. It seems like you'd have to vape an awful lot to get a decent dosage of CBD, which appears to work better in doses far higher than what is needed to get a good THC buzz going. A dab pen with some nice CBD wax, would probably work well, though.

Any opinions/information on that? I'd love for the pens to work, but I feel like I'd be vaping more glycerine/whatever else they are diluting the CBD with, than actual CBD.

I find the only way I really feel CBD is if I take it with some THC. A 1:4 THC:CBD ratio seems to be best for my symptoms. If I take it alone it's calming, but not really all that.

You'd be right. The VG/PG-based juice ones that you vape out of conventional non-CCell ecigarettes are particularly minimal in effect. They work a little bit, but I haven't enjoyed the experience as much as just vaping mid- to high-CBD flower. They normally use isolate, for one, so they don't have the full spectrum benefits the flower does.

I love my CBD. Vape Candida cd1 almost daily. Calms me and mellows me right out. I do need to start introducing some thc back into my nights though.

Just curious, but why? Sleep or ?

Exactly for the sleep.

I have issues staying asleep all night. Or getting to sleep on a regular basis.

The Candida cd1 is a high CBD low thc strain. Almost 20:1 CBD. It really helps my anxiety and depression when I vape it. It calms me down. Mellows me out. Very good in the morning to use or at night and it doesn’t give me a hazy feeling. Just calming. But as of late I’m gonna be trying some hammer shark 1:1 for night time use to get a little high. Stop the mind racing. Allowing me to get asleep.

What an awful name for a strain! Candida? Really? A Yeast?

How long has it been since you have had THC? I'm in the process of transitioning from THC to 1:1 CBD FSE as well as cbd isolate due to poor sleep that's from too much THC. I just want my dreams back! And even just cutting back has caused me sleep issues. I yearn for natural sober sleep.
