MiniVAP Vaporizer

Not very pretty, but functional. At some point I'll get rid of the SS condensor and find another way. Credit goes to someone in this thread, I think.

The MiniVap has really become my favorite vaporizer, and I just saw they now have a new quartz core (instead of glass). I just ordered the teflon-quartz model as I love convection.

Sounds like this deals with my gripes with the device. Maybe I will upgrade my hybrid glass core to the Teflon quartz core and the extra temp settings. Please let us know how you feel about it and how it compares to your current MV (sounds like you had one already, is it the hybrid?). Thanks and have fun!

Id be skeptical of anybody claiming flavor differences between boro and quartz. Quartz is the exact same material as borosilicate glass - silica. Which comes from sand.

The only difference is the added boron which lowers the melting point for easier flame working.

Do the other claims seem reasonable to you?

I just got this one about 5 months ago, and I use it more than any other (it just suits me really well, with long drawn out sessions starts at low temps and working my way up over a night -- the loading system is the cleanest and perfect to me). So yeah, I will be comparing the new core to the previous one and let you know if I can tell any difference. I wish he would have offered some new colors so it would be even more of an upgrade, but I want to support his work and have the latest device he offers :-) I'll report back when it arrives and I can compare.

At first, I owned a Teflon core and unfortunately sent it for repairs. During repairs, I asked Jorge to modify it to Glass core, only for the drawing restriction that I experienced with the Teflon core. I received my updated core and to my satisfaction I liked it more than Teflon core in view of no drawing restriction.
I even replaced the glass mouthpiece (on top of the long flexicone) with the straight part of the two pieces plastic mouthpiece.
Then I broke the glass cylinder and sent it back for repairs again (around June). Jorge replied:

Last week, we started testing new quartz tubes instead of borosilicate. Quarzt seems to be stronger so it should be more durable and easy to clean than borosilicate.
So now I have the new quartz tube that is similar to the borosilicate. I found out that the Quartz can produce clouds even sooner than the boro and is even more radiation than before. I use it exclusively with the small capsules, long flexicone with attached half of the plastic mouthpiece

Does Minivap ever have any sales? Tried searching the thread and didn't find much

Thanks

Maybe my MV came in broken? It is the glass/Teflon core and I never really got to enjoying it. I just gave it another go and it's not until the highest temp that any worthwhile vapor is produced. The temps below that it's just flimsy and because of that lacking flavor. There's also the flavor of silicone (I use the nylon/glass wpa kit) at the low temps. I have noticed that when I start a hit, the temp drop causes the light to blink after about two seconds. After my hit it takes quite some time to regain temp. Is this part of the experience of this well received vape, or does it sound like mine is underpowered or something?

Did you do a burn- off? Did you reach out to the retailer? What retailer did you buy it from?

I got it from Vapefully. I did burn offs and have also used it quite a bit and let it air out so any factory odors should've disappeared. I bought it at 420 or BF I think, in anticipation of the glass/nylon wpa, because the flexi whip didn't interest me. I did use it with that silicone tube so when the wpa released I was hoping for a great improvement. It did improve a lot, because a silicone vapor path became mostly glass. But the low temps perform so underwhelmingly that the taste of the tiny silicone piece in the wpa comes through. My Angus stock cu also has a silicone part in it, but I barely have an issue with it there. This would be explained by the lack of heat and vapor production in the MV.

I used mine for a good month or two...now, it just collects dust. I was not happy with the amount of heat I was getting with the vapor...I tried everything. I did not enjoy the whip tip or the other mouth piece. I also felt it was too heavy for me...large. I did get the smaller part that plugs in and makes it more portable. I did not like the taste or overall compared to what I am recently using. I wanted to love it. I truly did. It is beautiful mine is...the crimson color. Gorgeous.

But, the good thing though is some of my friends can use it...its just not for me.

Just to add...the gentleman that owns or runs it in Spain...he is a super nice person. Also, someone mentioned sales above. I never saw or heard of a sale with them...

This is the normal behavior.
But as for vapor production, I load my Glass MV with small capsules and it produces thick vapor at the "green temp"
Contrary to Dr. G post above me, I use it every day at home, with the long flexicone and the taste and smooth vapor always satisfy me.
If you feel comfortable removing the Teflon rings, I can send you the decarboxylation kit, which doesn't fit mine.

Thanks! Mine isn't compatible with that kit I believe. I use the large capsules. I will try the small one if I can still find it. Really appreciate the offer :)

I have a teflon MV with the 7 temp steps, debating giving it or my TM1 to my brother for his next vape (he has my OG Mighty already). I just never got there with the MV. Maybe I need to give it a little more time. My go to vapes are my Mighty+ when I am being lazy and TM2 when I want better flavor. I may be better off giving my brother my TM1 and selling my MV... but... was gonna send my cousin my FF2+, but may say F it and send him the MV and sell the FF2+.

In my experience...I have gone through so many vapes to finally find a couple that I tolerate. I am also happy to give my family and friends the ones that do not do it for me too. They are great vapes! But, since I do not use them...someone else will appreciate it. It would be wonderful to know that everyone vapes and does not smoke anymore. Just my wish. It is thoughtful of you to share your vapes...super nice. For example: I have/had a Minivap. Its gorgeous. But, I do not use it. So...a family member gladly took it and is using it and enjoying it tremendously. Cheers...stay well.

Hi again guys

I'm planning on updating the MiniVap to the most conduction based performance possible. AFAIK the QuartzCore without teflon is the best bet. But if there's no teflon ring/cilinder, what's in the filling chamber? a glass cilinder? nothing? or may I add the decarb kit? Sorry but I can't find any pictures and I can't have this figured out either...

What is the best config the get the biggest clouds?

thanks in advanced

You are right the Quartz Core is the most conduction although Jorge calls it radiation.

Then again it is a non removable Quartz cylinder the filling chamber (the Teflon is easy removable). You don't need a decarb kit, buy instead capsules for easier loading/unloading. I also use long flexicones and the upper part of the mouthpiece. Just load the capsule to the flex and screw to the MU

Did I ever say how much I love this vape? I think I did a number of times, but man... it still manages to impress me.

Got my Quick Core Teflon 4 years ago, fell in absolute love with it, sold every other vape I got at home and haven't looked back since.

It works fantastic with tiny to medium-high amounts, flavour is out of this world, especially considering there's no glass involved. It's a desktop cordless vape, it has to be one of the cleanest vapes, one of the easiest to keep clean. It's plug and play, it really is idiot proof, no need for drawing techniques or stirring or whatever, throw in your herbs so they don't move around the basket and you are done. Performance is right on top on par with a few others. It's all in one, you don't need to have a portable & a desktop (which has always been a problem to me since I always ended up using the portable or most convenient one despite its performance being worse). This one device gathers performance, ease of use, cleanness, portability, flavour, all-in-one... I mean, what else?

The only problem I found with my Quick Core Teflon was it felt too medical oriented. I had a hard time pulling out clouds with anything less than premium weeds, and sadly I don't vape premium weed the vast majority of the times... With top weeds I managed to get more than 20 puffs with somewhere around 0.15g, best flavour conservation I ever experienced throughout. Sadly, with less than that, the only way I found to get thick vapor was with the decarb kit and filling the heating chamber instead of the baskets.

So I recently contacted Jorge, let him know my concerns and he kindly suggested me to update to the new Quartz Core (no teflon) every new MiniVap is being sent out with nowadays.

My oh my, now this is something else. Jorge was so kind as to increase the top temp so now my MV ranges from 190ºC blue to 260ºC red. Pairing that with the new Core, they both now compare like the Beauty & the Beast. It has so much power now that I have to use the baskets and I lowered my vaping temp. It extracts much better and makes this vape more suitable for concentrates and big bong hits. AVB now come out nearly black instead of light brown, overall everything feels more satisfying and efficient, my herbs get finally squished.

Besides that Jorge will soon enough be selling a Glass Starter Kit to make a nearly 100% glass path, for those interested.

I mean.. what else?

This is already available, I got one months ago!
I think I got it here
It did not get a very long tryout, I found it more awkward than filling baskets. As I recall, very hot after a bowl and that made it harder to refill until cool? Idk, it was a while ago, sorry I don't have a comment about vapor quality.
I do prefer using the nylon wpa.

Hello everyone. I'm totally new here and would definitely say I'm a novice to vaping as a whole. I recieved my minivap limited edition a few days ago, it has the teflon/quartz core? The one which provides most flavour.. my issue is that when dry or run through my water tool after 3 or 4 intakes the flavour drops to zero and I get an usual toast like burnt flavour? I dont seem to be able to get taste and vapour.. soon as the vapour begins to appear the burnt taste begins to take over? I've run it through a few burn offs and used it fairly extensively today but each time this taste returns?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I havent been able to find anyone else experiencing anything similar

Maybe temperature too high?
Is your material very dark when finished? Some folks like that, but It doesn't need to be!
