@lazylathe - are you getting the vapor to dance?
Welp... the heater core on my silver MiniVap seems to be failing. I used to get thick clouds of vapor on the green setting. Now, however, I struggle to get visible vapor on the red setting no matter how long I let the unit heat up.
Looks like I got one of the defective ones. I've contacted Vapor Nation about an exchange. At least I got a chance to experience how great this thing can be when it's working properly. Once you go MiniVap there's no going back...
Unfortunately, living with the folks right now, makes it difficult (for next 2 months) So when I get the chance, I have been going after concentrates. But I got it ready to go for my next session. I checked out vape dr. unboxing video and my battery connection points are black while his looks white (we both have the silver mv). When I charged the battery, it took about 30 mins for full charge (thinking it must have come partially charged). I will report once I have my first session.
You wanna talk about it?My Minivap has turned into a $500 paper weight.
Welcome to the club! Like you, I got a taste of a good one that eventually failed. I'm not discouraged! Just waiting patiently for my replacement.Welp... the heater core on my silver MiniVap seems to be failing. I used to get thick clouds of vapor on the green setting. I'm still dying to know exactly what is failing and why as I'm sure Hermes is quite aware.
I could very well be who you were thinking about since my first Vapornation MV that I got end august failed in November and the second unit I'm now returning lasted all of less than four weeks. No way did I use it 100 times.I asked Jorge if there was anything I could share about the failures. He said over the summer one of their parts suppliers sent them parts that were not the right hardness and wear out too quickly. They typically take 100 uses to start to fail, so it's a problem that couldn't be detected during normal QC. He said once they identified the problem they had their distributors return units for checking. That's the official line.
Unofficially, we can see from here that there are still some bad units in the supply chain. I have no idea what they did to locate possible faulty unsold units, but I can imagine it was a nightmare. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I recall someone recently getting a second faulty unit from VaporNation, which would indicate there are still some bad ones in the pipeline. The good news for U.S. users is that I think there is only one distributor in the states, and that is VaporNation. I think the MV has more presence in Europe, which would make the clean up messier.
Bad units only need to have the core returned for repair. If it were me, I would send a bad unit to Hermes for repair, just to know it is finally done right. No one else is repairing these things, just swapping them out. I don't know what this says for current purchases except that there should be fewer bad units found going forward now that they have the problem figured out.
fwiw, now all three of my favorite vapes have had issues with manufacturers. All that says to me is if you want the best vaporizer at this time, some growing pains may be experienced no matter which way you go...which makes choosing the right company to give your money to even more important.
For some reason No ones sig shows up on my phone so I'm unable to view them.
