Interesting little philosophical debate this Lily update has inspired. Here's my 2c worth:
Some are saying that the offer to replace or update peoples Lilies shows Integrity. Integrity is something that is displayed when someone does something they are morally obliged to do even though it is difficult or not to their advantage. In no way is Triihouse morally obliged to replace any units that work. The first Lilies that came out worked and worked very well. The fact that Lily gets modified at some point doesn't change the fact that people got what they paid for therefore they are not owed any more.
Generosity is when someone voluntarily does something that they are not morally obliged to do but they do it to benefit the other at a cost to them self. To judge whether a person is being generous you would have to be able to read their mind.
I suspect Tommy is making a wise choice for his own business in updating peoples Lilies for free. It creates good will and confidence in the company and he can probably afford to do it. If Max did the same thing with the Lotus, with the time that elapsed, it would have been suicidal.
The amount of time that elapses between iterations does not affect the morality of whether or not to replace for free. It only affects the wisdom of doing it.
I think that most people will be like the updates to the Lily. It seems like they will make it perform more like Daisy, which is a good thing in my book. I sure love my Daisy!
