I've had my LSV for a year, still love it. A friend of mine tried it, bought one as well.
I posted here in the past, one thing I don't like is how the cable exits the unit, I have always used a raised finger to take the weight off the cable which would otherwise be placed where the cable exits the unit. So my friends unit blew up in her hand, the metal cut through the active where the cable exits the base, so I am glad I take the safety meassure of using my finger as a strain releif for the cable when in use with a water pipe.
I think it is also lucky she was not electrocuted, she has a safetly switch but even so with the way the unit is earthed, the earth cable is just stripped and twisted around the post on the potentiometer.
These are a great design, awsome vaporizer, just so poorly put together.
I have fixed hers and made a few changes, different cable terminals to make it easier to put back together, high temp silicone cable through out instead of just the last inch before the heater, soldered an earth terminal to the inside of the body, drilled out the end cap and fitted a nylon cable gland cand covered that with a heatshrink end cap.
For minimal cost these could be made safe, as they are currently being built I would suggest caution, don't let the cables strain point be where it exits the unit.
