Has anyone been able to compare this to the Carta?
Does seem like some backtracking. I will mention the link to that FAQ page with the warranty info on atomizers is KandyPens general FAQ page for all products that I assume has been up for a while. Do we know the Lifetime Warranty mentioned in that blurb also applies to the Oura Lifetime Warranty? That could just be talking about all of their pen atomizers. It also states the lifetime warranty ONLY covers batteries, which is different from what we’ve decided the Oura warranty says.
At this point, I think unless your atomizer comes DOA youre going to be shit out of luck getting a replacement from them

Do you happen to own a Oura ? You can use a lower heat setting to achieve a cooler hit similar to that longer heat up the peak gives you , only you are there much quicker with the Oura if that is something that may worry you . I been using it for some time now and also have a peak since release . Also the included ceramic bucket rather than the quartz will give you what your looking for with the Oura , it takes longer to heat .Carta compared to the oura:
Pros: Cheaper, Bluetooth temp control, replaceable batteries, Rebuildable Atomizer, also works with herbs, Support from the glass community with 3rd party accessories and glass attachments being made
Cons: Longer metal vapor path that is harder to clean
Oura just came out so im sure there will be 3rd party attachments and accessories coming soon. They both heat up really fast which i am not really a fan of as it seems to scorch the oil in the process I prefer the more gradual heat up of the peak

I have not used it, that is just my experience from using the carta with its rapid heat up. Someone that owns the oura had a similar complaint.
Its not really a cooler hit im looking for, I still want vapor and clouds, i just feel like the rapid heat up skips and burns away some of the lower temperature terpenes and flavor
I’ve been following this thread because I’ve been looking to purchase. I just Instagram messaged Kandypens. I asked them if they would replace the coils for free if they stopped working from normal wear. This is their response, “Yes, We don’t nickel and dime customers like other companies do. If you invest a lot of money in a product you shouldn’t have to buy faulty replacement parts.”
So they replace coils under lifetime warranty for life! Yea, I just bought one.
I might wait till they actually add that before i switch 8DMe too, guess which one of these devices just went to the top of my list.
They should update their site to say;
Lifetime Warranty(All parts, including coils)
I like mine also . The button is touch sensitive, I had that same issue but got used to it quick so I try to keep my finger away while hitting it and learned all the presses now. There is a guy on Instagram making a sort of cover so you can’t hit it that is 3D printed , they go by zc_glass .I've been enjoying my Oura
I really like the build and the shape and the color options, and that it came with quartz installed instead of titanium or ceramic.
I'm not a fan of the touch-button. The base of the unit is small and compact and I'm CONSTANTLY touching the button and either ending my hit or changing the temp.
I haven't noticed anything to complain about in the vapor path. It appears to be silicone from the atomizer all the way to the glass.
The atomizer is a cool design and I've been abusing it harder than usual to see if I can get it to fail. The only issue I had was when it arrived the heating coils were bent down a bit and it heated up more slowly.
I don't mind the Oura hits. It doesn't hit as hard or quick as the Carta, but it will get hot enough to give you that burnt oil taste on the hottest setting.
My device functions considerably better with a different carb cap (namely, an empty 1g jar)
Are you talking about the stated temperatures in the manual? Or from experience? I don’t find the temperatures too hot at all. In fact, out of the four temperature choices I would say only the hottest one gets anywhere near too hot. If you are talking about the temperature numbers that the manual indicates this could mean that the physical heating element is getting that hot, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the quartz bucket is getting that hot. Temperature setting for most vapes are arbitrary because there are so many other factors like draw speed and heat loss through materials or actual oil. Just find which temperature settings work for you and go with that. Can some one explain the appeal of this product to me? I know the company themselves is pretty reliable, however can someone explain the reasoning why the temps are so insanely high? Are they needed for the quartz and ceramic? :/ Truly racking my brain trying to figure out if they know something about temps that I don't or if they are just only concerned about cloud chasers?

So far from my experience with it, these listed temps definitely arent what the actual temp of the bowl is. For example, on red setting on a Peak, which is supposedly 600, I get wayy milkier hits, and it seems to vape my trates more efficiently then even the red setting on the Oura, which is listed as a lot more then 600. I dont know how fond I am of the heating element on the Oura so far. I feel like the thin wires doesnt give the quartz dish enough coverage to transfer heat.
I feel you there. A donut coil or flat ceramic coil under the quartz would probably be better. Wishful thinking is maybe KandyPens comes up with more atomizer designs for the Oura.

That makes a lot more sense, thank you so much. I'm coming from a Carta where I thought 650 was too high for me lol. So that was where I was getting confused then, the temps stated aren't that of the dish inside, but how hot the actual heating element gets. Is there any way or some rule of thumb you can use to decipher how much a 900 degree f heating element will transfer to the ceramic or quartz dishes? Do they put down any of the secondary heat temps(meaning what the dish reaches to)? This thing has certainly peaked my interest(no pun intended) so just trying to decipher as much information as I can before deciding
You too can measure oven/bowl temps for as little as $5;I know some members of this forum have tools for measuring the temperature
