One day there will be a movie about the rise and fall of Twitter/X. I propose the working title should be ‘How to Lose $44 Billion‘

Dont give a shit. This study points out that income/wealth is directly correlated with carbon footprint.
It's not so much the flying around and yachting about all the time; the bigger impact comes from the amount of carbon required simply to produce their income/wealth.
America’s richest 10% are responsible for 40% of its planet-heating pollution
This means the rich folk are doing a whole lot more to fuck up the environment than previously imagined.
Elon laughing at people IS the irony here, he's the fucking loser, with no clue about his place in the world.
First of all, apologies if something I said was seen as personal. I really didn't mean to address your feelings, nor who or what you choose to control.Dont give a shit.
I can only control myself…and sometimes that is a chore. No time, desire, or patience to attempt to control others.
I'm the one who mentioned carbon footprint; it is the subject of the study written up in the article I posted.besides, who mentioned anything about carbon footprint and why is that relative to my response to the comment i quoted?

I've lived in a myriad of different areas in my life. Some right leaning, some left leaning. When it comes to low income housing I found that both areas agreed on two things.....low income housing is needed AND just not in my neighborhood.Enlightened Centrists like to say that "both sides" in America have become too extreme. Too Far Right. Too Far Left. Much has been made about the "Far" Right in this country. Let me check in on the "Radical" Left for a moment.
There was a meeting in the SF Bay Area about a proposal to convert an old hotel into 100 units of housing for homeless residents. Let's see how Libs in the most "Left Wing" area of the country are taking it:
I was asking myself...if they don't want homeless people living on the street? And they don't want them living in a home? Where exactly do they want them to live? Then I realized the faulty premise in my question
So the Right Wingers in America want to put all the trans people in camps. The Liberals want to put all the homeless in camps. Very cool country
I don't think America is the most Right Wing country on the planet. You've got Hungary, Russia, Israel. Plus you have actual monarchies like Saudi Arabia. Theocracies like Afghanistan or Iran. But we're definitely up there.
Although most of those other Right Wing countries have free at point-of-service healthcare, so maybe we got a shot!

Don’t forget the corporate builders who pushed out the independents and now you can only buy a $1M house because they make more money than doing neighborhoods of low to mid income homes and apartments.Yeah. In concept they want lower priced housing. Especially people with younger adult children who are now priced completely out of the market. But... homeowners do not want the price of housing to go down. Because that screws with their bottom line. And no one loves voting more than homeowners.
It's hard for me to even blame them. The only way for most people to build any sort of financial security in this country is to buy a house. Over time it will appreciate in value.
I wouldn't even have a problem with this...if wages kept up with the price of housing. Because if wages don't...then that financial security is being built on the backs of younger generations who are now priced out of the housing market.

Couldn't handle watching and listening to all of the debate but Vivek is basically just a Ben Shapiro clone, right?
Pence has more powerful wet blanket magic than I thought.
