so my 05 with the torn ribbon wire is en route back to pharmacor. i trust that Greg and company will get it inspected, fixed/replaced, and on its way back to me in a timely manor. i miss it already.

oh and i did not notice any of the the plastic rim melting on mine. i will inspect my capsule later. what i did notice and brought up earlier in this thread... of which i dont believe was ever addressed... is that the 05 does not seem to be made from delrin like the XP was. its seems to be a much lighter and possibly softer plastic. Pharmacor... can you confirm the material the 05s are molded in?

I go where the thrills are
I'm hoping something is wrong with mine, but it looks like other people are having the same issue.

Did someone else report the same behavior? I looked through the last few pages twice and haven't seen anyone else note this....hopefully it's just a faulty unit...

Im curious to see if anyone else is having this problem? If so I will definitely hold off purchasing until they figure out the battery issue and this heating problem.

Guys, unfortunately, I'm confirming the melted black rim plastic on both my regular polyimide caps and glass caps that I received Thursday and of which I have used now 3-4 times. This is so unfortunate after patiently waiting for so many months to receive my unit. Check out the links to a couple pics I just took.

As for the charge time issues, I have not experienced a long charge time and my batteries seem to get 7+ sessions at temps of 7 and higher. I purchased 3 extra batteries and a battery charger from Amazon that can charge 4 batteries at once. As for swapping them out, if done carefully, it's very simple and quick. It's too bad something as simple as using another material that can withstand higher temps for the lid/chamber cover wasn't considered!!! @Inhalater please help!!!

Edit: And yes, that's black plastic below the rim and now touching the top of the chamber! I'm so upset!!! And to comment on the glass caps, they suck IMO. They come with a small screen that's loose and falls right out so being that this was supposed to be my portable traveling vape, I've Ben using the glass cal without the screen knowing it will get lost anyway. I grind very fine so I've been eating some a bit hence my statement if them sucking. Too bad they are not designed similar to the Solo stems...

How much use, ie minutes or sessions, occurred before you saw the melting? I'm wondering if it's something that happens only under sustained, long periods of high temps. Seven or eight minutes all the way at setting 9 hasn't caused anything close to this on my unit, so far....

I was excited for the glass capsules. Now... not so much.

I use it on temp 7-8 for typically 2 straight sessions. It started after the first day of use, maybe 2-3 sessions in. As for the glass caps, another issue is at high temps, they get hot on your lips. I'm hoping @Inhalater comes up with a new part to replace the black plastic chamber rim issue and fast...

Wow. Can't tell for sure, but it does look like melted plastic in the pics. Hopefully you get an answer/resolution ASAP.

I just closely inspected mine and there's no sign of this. Plastic is still smooth and even all around. Mine has been used at max as well and I always remove and empty my caps immediately after my session when it's still hot.
Will be monitoring this very closely.

Also, I got 12 sessions on a charge yesterday. 4 separate times of doing 3 back-to-back sessions and it was still going but I stopped there and changed batteries. I'm finding it does get easier or maybe the circuit board's a bit looser now.

The body material is different for sure. Lighter and seems to dissipate heat better since with my xp's the heat would migrate down into the body during prolonged use but not as much with the 05.
I'd like to assume the company's vetted new materials carefully as I know they care about health and not just profits. Looking forward to their perspective.

I am as well. Check our the other pic with melted plastic on the glass cap. I'm very disappointed right now as I'm leaving on a 5 day trip on Thursday and was planning on bringing it. Im at a loss now. I've been planning for this trip for months.

Damn. So this makes the third manufacturer that i've seen that has melting problems. Do all portables melt at some point or other? Would someone kindly pm me a list of portables that have no record of melting. >:-/

Yet another change that was NOT beta tested....all of my XP's and my Beat 05 have a white chamber sleeve {insert} that can become soft after heavy use {extra high heat} but none of mine have ever melted.....:doh:

I hope to hear from inhalater as to what is causing the melted plastic issue. I didn't stop combusting to take up vaping dangerous gases.

Hi there. I've had luck with the arizer solo, elevape sv , davinci and davinci ascent. Although they each have their own issues. None dealing with melted plastics

Firefly? Nothing that can melt on that puppy.

Meanwhile I have my INH cranked to 9 ATM and it seems ok. Perhaps letting it cool between sessions is a good idea. Not sure I'd wanna run it for a full 9 minute cycle and then turn it back on for another nine minutes in any event. (For one thing I'd be passed out after that much vapor...)

That's too bad. I was considering getting them, but sounds like a non-starter. Frankly I can't make heads or tails out of how they might work looking at the pix...they aren't shaped at all like the regular capsules.

I've been lurking since the thread started,
Anyone try they're XP caps in the 05?
I thought they were all compatible.
Battery life looks good it's the charging that I don't like though it could be charger and USB cord. Keep the reviews coming.

To avoid any risk of burning oneself, it is mandatory to let the unit cool down before manipulating the capsule.

By following this simple rule any risk of deforming hot chamber will also be eliminated

INH05 skirmishes the limit of engineering to bring you the most effective technology

Temperature over 8 on the dial is over melting point of outer plastics. Internal tolerancing assures that there is no risk of damaging the unit or of emitting plastic fumes providing simple rule is respected. Pharmacor vouches on this.

Additionaly, unit should not be supported by the capsule when using with accessories. Please use water tool adapter for proper support.

Cheers! Happy vaping

Let me get this straight; if you move the capsule while the device is in use, you risk melting the plastic?
That sounds like a terrible design, pretty sad you are OK with that.
Obviously the bottom of the capsule is going to be hot when you take it out, same as solo and pnp. People are used to taking out hot capsules. Its not really hard to keep the hot side away from yourself.
The fact that it can damage the unit/melt the plastic is terrifying to the point im not interested in this vaporizer anymore...

On the one hand I'm glad your company is honest. On the other I'm disappointed the materials are not up to par.

Plus I'm not sure what to believe with regard to temps. At least one user reported melting plastic at 7-8...inhalater says above 8 is where it's hot enough to melt plastic.

I was testing my unit at 9 yesterday and didn't see any problems, but I think in the future I'll keep it below 8.

Yeah, I don't think this it that dramatic of a problem. Simply pushing that ridge back a little will totally fix the problem. Just the exterior plastic at that part needs a tiny design change.

It won't be cheap to bin that specific part and replace it, but I wouldn't expect it to be devastating. It does need a real fix though.

That post from @Inhalater made it sound like they had no intention of correcting the issue. Or even acknowledging it as an issue.

I interpreted the answer as "you are using the device incorrectly" because you are not supposed to move hot capsules while in use.

Kinda akin to the iPhone 4's antenna problem if you "hold it wrong".

Though I could be entirely wrong in this interpretation, this is not the type of approach I respect. Replacement of the part with something that can actually withstand the heat is the only appropriate course of action IMO.

Lots of people here maybe OK with this answer and buy this product. At least the manufacturer is honest in what the device is capable of.

"Temperature over 8 on the dial is over melting point of outer plastics." Why is anything over 8 even offered then? Im curious why I didnt have this problem with my XP. I liked to load up 2 carts and then vape them back to back with a group of people. Now we have to wait until it is fully cooled to take it out? I remember it being even more difficult to remove at a cold or room temp after being used....
