The part that is disappointing is they aren't offering a replacement part and having me ship mine back in, they are requiring that I send in my broken Lighter Head first and they will refurbish the unit and send it back after repaired.
Wait. They sent you a broken unit and they are only going to repair it, not replace it? That's pretty shitty.
When asked what would happen if the device shorted out again after the 30 day Warranty they said "If used properly and adhering to usage instructions, the Lighter Head will function fine for a longtime."
I suppose that is the honest answer, but it sucks to know that you are on your own after 30 days, officially. Given the many problems during the extended beta, I would hope they would have worked out the QC issues. Sounds like not enough that they are comfortable to actually stand behind shipped products.

That is my understanding. Hence why I'm frustrated.

Yeah, agreed, especially because units have failed while being used properly outside the 30 day policy its concerning. Quite unfortunate that they are reluctant to replace a device that was either assembled improperly or failed during shipping.

Has anyone tested this with the tempest of the one of the thermal accumulators?

Hello everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving to all our fellow Canadians!

We've been emailing with @jkeyes98 since their post on Friday to clarify the situation after some initial miscommunication and misunderstanding.

We always do our best to reply to customer service emails as soon as possible. Sometimes it will take us longer than usual but don't worry, we will always get back to you.

Wait. They sent you a broken unit
No, we did not send a broken unit. It was most likely damaged during transport.

and they are only going to repair it, not replace it?
As mentioned above, this was a miscommunication that was addressed privately via email after the initial post was shared hastily. Thanks for your concern.

Our customers are never "on their own". If customers have any issues beyond the 30 day period they can email us and discuss the situation. Customer service is a top priority for us at Camouflet and we're always here to help.

I'm surprised to hear that. I'd felt they Camoflet had shown excellent customer service in my experience.
Thanks for sharing your kind words and support!

I have received my Camouflet Inductor and am testing different heating times for various caps:
-Anvil: 22.8 volts / 20 seconds;
-Tempest: 23 volts / 20 seconds;
-Tornado: 21 volts / 15 seconds;
-Convector XL: 25 volts /6 seconds.
The good quality video is on my chanel:
Awesome video showing the varying heating times of the different battery free devices with the Inductor. Thanks for sharing!

Here we can see an excellent visual representation of the benefits of the Convector XL's low thermal mass heater plate design and properties. The Convector XL is a unique and high performance device designed to mimic the ritual of lighting and consuming a joint. Especially when paired with the Inductor.

Just want to confirm something: I’ve read some people saying this IH doesn’t work very well with the TA3/4. Is that the case?

I wouldn’t say it doesn’t work well, just that it doesn’t slash the time like it does on other devices. Tempest/Convectors/Dynas most TEDs get red hot in a few seconds; the difference being in most of the others the cap body is just what holds the thermal mass, while TAs cap is a good chunk of its thermal mass. As a result it seems to take like 2/3 of big torch time to heat TA on inductor, while the others are more along the magnitude of 1/3 or less heat up on inductor v big torch.

What a great bundle! Been using the Inductor for a couple days and got around to trying Camouflet vapes today. Convectors are really sensitive with the heat as I found out the hard way :rant: Starting to get that down after visiting the XL thread. Injector is really fun! Used that adapter with the screen sitting high through the prophet ;) Not missing the torches so much since this has arrived :dog:

Hi All,

Received my unit today, about to start testing on a plethora of vapes. If anyone has experience with any of the following it would be great:

Dynavap captive cap
Dynavap armoured cap
Lotus
Tempest
Thermal accumulator 3
Anvil thermocore
Fusion 2
Chaos

Please let me know if this is not the appropriate place for this sort of question!

Thanks Guys!

For the Tempest & Fusion I’m heating until the clicks (maybe +1 second). About 8-10 total.

T: 22V and a couple rotations. F: 25V

Tempest is my fav with Inductor, the visual indicator on Tempest means no counting or listening for clicks, just watch the dial spin up and remove heat a little ahead of the mark you want it at.

Be very careful with Lotus, that heater plate is VERY thin!

Are you making a lot of contact on that sleeve with the core? Sometimes my VI continues to climb more than I want after removing and get a RTL roast. Thinking it might be pressing too hard or need it at an angle?

I keep it right on the sleeve the whole time, glowing red. Like I say, you need to lead it a bit and remove the heat ahead of where you want it to stop. I use 25.5 and want the temp at about 1.5-1.7 indicated, I pull it right at the 1st score mark. It’s pretty easy to feel once you do it a few times.
