Discontinued Indica Vaporizer

One thing you might want to consider this early into testing is if you're getting nice dense vapor then people are going to want to put these in their water pipes. An adapter is something id be interested in at the time of the release

Hi Indica, it's looking better every day! Can you give us an idea of how warm the body (or the bottom part at least) gets while using the
vaporizer?
By reducing the oven capacity, did the heat up time got shorter? If so, what are the estimated heat up times
with a packed oven for the lowest vs the highest setting now?
The warmest the body gets at the bottom near the chamber is 108. We will continually work to reduce this temp through different methods of insulation but this is the likely result of continuose use at a higher setting for now.

It takes about 47 seconds to heat the chamber walls right now from start up, but to reach the herb to vape temp it takes an additional 12 seconds. Once we are in production, we intend making some changes and wish to target 39 seconds to vape without givving away additional battery duration.

Yesterday the Indica testing team worked through each temperature setting for comparatives purposes. From Vapor density and review of the spent herd discoloration the team rallied to the occasion.

The first major finding was that the herb must be packed with some pressure. We filled approximately 0.31 grams of herb the new chamber.

What were the results when you didn't pack tightly enough?

The team tested this evening and found that when the herb was gravity fed, vapor desity was fairly thick and maxed out close to 40 hits before the vapor's desity showed an obviouse drop to transparency. Again more than expected. We will need to compair notes from the 5 testers next week end or ealy the following week.

Additionally here is a picture of the chamber remains after 14.5 minutes use of perpetual usage

Those are encouraging results! I am watching this thread with interest.

Your photo isn't showing up for me.

To clarify the results of this picture was based on 15 hits at the Green setting (365 F), 15 hits Blue (377.6 F), 10 Purple (388.4 F). At that time, the density of the vapor was quickley reducing. To test if higher settings had an impact, we
ratcheted to red (419 F) for 5 hits and found some added life but some what of a change in taste. The vapor density did improve but our team felt the chamber's quality had been played. The final test was to cycle back to green (365 F) where surprisingly visible though minimal vapor was consitant for all 6 to 7 remaining hits.

The picture reflects that the testers clearly over played this product but shows there was no combustion. Their conclution after 40 plus hits is that there still is additional poor grade vapor to be milked out of this chamber if popcorn is a desired taste.

Next test this evening will be with mild to heavy chamber compression of product. One last comment, we decided not to use the screen for any of these results posted. It seems that unless you have ground your herb to powder, there should not be a problem with intake through the air lines.

Would the Indica produce similar effects when using less herbs but adding some type of
spacer to keep it packed when the lid is closed, like a ss cube that fits the chamber?
Migth be a good extra they can sell, a pack of three different sized spacers to use
with small loads.

Belgianvapor, we'll also test a partial filled chamber as well to see the results.
Interestingly, now that we have a metalic chamber door, we can offer a spring with a magnetic end to act as a spacer. This would be a fairly easy to configure. Appreciate the thought.

If I'm reading you right, this is a great idea!

Should we have any concerns with the magnet on this unit being next to my phone in the pocket?

Just don't cross the streams!

In all seriousness though, that's not really something you have to worry about. At least not anymore. Magnets used to be able to fuck a computer up something fierce even a decade ago - usually by burning out the screen or corrupting the data on the hard drive. CRT monitors, the big fat ones were really susceptible to this effect, but not the LCD screens we use today. Hard drives still are a little susceptible, but you need to buy an industrial grade degaussing device to wipe them.

EDIT:

As for tape erasers, I'm still not sure they would work on hard drives. One of the reasons hard drives are so rugged nowadays is the special metal enclosure of the drive. It's not unlike a faraday cage in that it grounds all static and electro-magnetic forces to isolate the extremely fine tuned magnetic system that is the hard drive from the outside world. You can try it if you want to though :brow:
