I haven't had any issues with the door yet but I can see it being an issue down the road. Plastic on plastic holds it in place. Why not be all metal and magnetic? Maybe have a small piece of plastic on the outside if heat is an issue. I'm going to carefully try the mod drvape suggested, draw is a little restricted as is. Also I haven't noticed a difference when blocking the USB port.

That said, I like the unit and think it works fine as is.....

Its important to keep up on cleaning the Vape passage with pipe cleaners, once plugged it won't work, the strange thing is the draw restriction seems the same so you don't always know its plugged, but no cloud. So if it seems its not working, snake her out and she's like new!! If going on road trip bring a pipe cleaner!! I had to use a paperclip in a pinch....

Good point @queefermadness. The pipe cleaner is your most critical tool. Better to use it more often than to be surprised by cooked herb and no vapor. Clearly the necessity is dependent on the resin generation of your stash.

Regarding the door issue, at first pass, a good thought, but a metal door would transfer too much heat to the fingertips. Your logic is correct. We're open to explore the option of the magnetic door in the months to come.

INDICA VAPORIZER REVIEW

This is the first of 2 reviews of the Indica vaporizer I will be doing. The second review will start at Green as that is where most people will most likely start.

This review is of the Indica with all 5 heat settings from a full charge. I used .22 grams of slightly dry sour diesel not packed in the chamber, with the spacer pushed until the back was flush with the oven chamber.

Ambient air temperature was 73 degrees, review was done with no screen, and the mouthpiece drilled out to 3/32nds. Sessions were in 10 hit increments, taking 12-15 second draws light/medium draws (slower draws at higher temperatures). I waited 15-20 seconds in between draws, I waited an hour in between sessions. I was also able to take one more hit each time after turning the unit off. Here is my review.

Temp #1 Cyan 340F- Charge up to temp time was 40 seconds. Taste is amazing but no visible vapor. Surprise, the last 4 hits actually produced wispy but visible vapor.
Session lasted 6 minutes. Taste is amazing. Feeling nicely medicated. The Indica and mouthpiece nice and cool.

Temp #2 Blue 358F- Charge up to temp time was 57 seconds. Battery indicator light white. Visible but still wispy vapor on first hit, with vapor production increasing throughout the 10 hits. Taste is absolutely wonderful.
Session lasted 6 minutes. Taste still amazing. Feeling very nicely medicated. Indica and mouthpiece still cool.

Temp #3 Green 376F- Charge up to temp time was 1:07 seconds. Battery Indicator light white. (I pulled oven door off and poked the spacer in). Still tastes great. Visible vapor throughout all 10 hits. Increasing vapor production.
Session lasted 6 minutes. Taste is still wonderful. Feeling heavily medicated. Indica a little warmer, mouthpiece still cool.

Temp #4 Purple 394F- Charge to temp time was 1:15 seconds. Battery indicator light surprisingly still white. Vapor is much more pronounced. Still very flavorful feeling very nice effects and vapor throughout. 10 very nice pleasant smooth hits.
Session lasted 8 minutes. Taste is still amazing. Absolutely medicated. Indica is warm, mouthpiece started to get warm, I slowed down to longer slower draws.

Temp #5 Red 412F- Charge to temp time was 1:18 seconds. Battery indicator light now on green. I got 5 good hits then vapor started fading. Still smooth, not harsh.
Session lasted 3:30 Indica and mouthpiece are warm. Taste is still pleasant at this temperature.

The Indica took 1 hour and 20 minutes to fully charge back up.

Final thoughts:
The Indica performed much better at lower temps than I anticipated.
The taste was amazing throughout.
The Indica is very easy to pack and use.
Customer service is excellent.
I do not like the chrome very much although it does go very nice with the (ZIPPO) like look.
Vapor production at low temps was a big surprise.
Vapor production increased throughout sessions on all temps.
Unit nor mouthpiece ever got unbearably hot.
I give the Indica 4.7-5 stars. The unit performed wonderfully.
I definitely would recommend this vaporizer to a friend.
The new version could easily be a 5-5 stars

I would however like to see a black version, replaceable batteries, a pick holder (already in the works), and a larger mouthpiece hole. This is a very stout unit, feels sturdy as hell, and needs virtually no cleaning other than a pipe cleaner through the down tube every few sessions. You can get many more hits at higher temps as you will see in my next review.

The Indica is definitely on par with the PAX with a smaller price tag that comes with much more than expected, but also heats much more evenly than the PAX. This is definitely a great easy to use portable vaporizer with a very promising future ahead.

I have been using this unit daily and will continue to do so. It is an extremely durable unit that packs a hell of a punch for a long time.

P.S. covering the USB port has nothing to do with anything. Because the unit is completely sealed (tube to chamber), all your doing by covering the USB port is allowing the unit to get hotter. If anything I would say the small amount of air passing through the USB port is doing nothing but allowing some hot air out of the unit.

@Vape Dr.: Nice, thorough review. I just wanted to point out that you can get visible and really tasty vapour at 160°C (320°F), which is my preferred starting temperature if the vapourizer allows it. It's wispy but it's quite visible.

Another point favouring the Indica over the Pax is that the Indica uses USB charging. There's no issue with plugs or converters, since USB is a universal standard.

Just drilled out the mouthpiece as drvape suggested. Eliminated the resistance. Here's a few tips.

1.Thoroughly clean mouthpiece first. Any resin will cause metal shavings to stick.

2. Gently hold mouthpiece over flat surface you don't mind drilling into, use small pliers to hold.

3. With 3/32 bit and drill on high speed, gently drill out existing hole. Do not push, let the drill bit do the work. Be sure you are drilling straight, if not you will destroy inner funnel.

4. Most important, BE SURE to thoroughly clean mouthpiece when done. You DO NOT want to inhale metal shavings.

The vape works fine without this mod, don't let the drilling scare you if you're not the handy type as it's completely unnecessary. If the slight restriction bothers you, you may want to consider it.

I will be doing a PAX vs Indica review after my second Indica review starting on green (which is the same temp as the PAX on low). I will also try to get a Cera LL review in for you.
The Indica comes with so many extra parts and free stuff it will make your head spin.
Included is a wire brush. one twist with it in the oven (non removeable oven) and its clean as a whistle, a pipe cleaner through the mouthpiece tube and your Indica is like brand new, it's that easy to clean.
The Indica produces more vapor that increases as you vape, I attribute this to the oven being evenly heated (no hot spots or need to mix the oven halfway through a session).

The Indica is;
Easy to clean,
5 temps,
larger capacity (or smaller, I put a pinch in with 2 spacers just to see, and it worked brilliantly)
No "sticky mouthpiece",
Secure oven so you don't loose your load if you drop it,
USB charging, and I could go on. But that will be in my comparison review

I, like you prefer low temps I LOVE getting even wispy vapor at low temps, you just can't beat the taste and effect!
When you shine a flashlight and blow out a low temp hit, you really see the vapor, its just not as visable without a light.

@queefermadness Glad you tried the mod, you will notice a big difference.
I would suggest using a 2/32nd bit to open up the hole, then going to 3/32nds.

I think only @Vape Dr. Has both, but I'd say absolutely. With the Indica you get reliable warranty protection, 5 temps, and a beautifully US-designed high quality device. Basically you get what you pay for (any many believe the FlowerMate to not even be worth half the price, many feel it should remain sub-$100)

I can't say for sure since I have no experience with the flowermate , but I tend to agree with this guy !! When I google flowermate , I mostly see it for sale at places like Dhgates and alibaba , which is immediately a red flag for me personally .

I have both. The Indica has temperature settings , 5 of them. The Vapormax has one setting.

They both work well and produce visible vapor.

The Indica has a warranty , the Vapormax does not.

In my opinion the Indica is worth the price. The Vapormax works well enough, but there are no settings and no guarantees.

For all in the know, ie this forum, these updates are fairly minor overall. The modifications you mention probably won't hit the market until late summer/ early fall at earliest. There is current inventory in the system of existing product that will need to be completely sold through before the next grouping is manufactured, let alone finalized in design before it is released.

I would agree. The money area seems to be temp setting 2 and 3 (blue and green). I get the best taste along with good vapor production. I did a full load, fine grind, no screen, and well packed of Durban Poison yesterday afternoon and had a nice, medicated feeling within 8 minutes of starting to vape.

I tried a couple on Purple and it's ok, but the vape gets a bit warm and more of the CBD is starting to vaporize at the Purple setting, where Blue and Green are only getting the THC, resulting in nicer head highs.

I gotta say, I'm really liking my purchase as a companion to my desktop vape. I get very comparable taste profile, which was a big point and sold me on the Indica more than anything else.

These on coming suggestions and helpful guidance have led me to make future changes in the mouthpiece, @Dr Vape, in the near future production as well as the correction of the air seal near the USB, @Belgianvapor and @KeroZen when the new mold is completed for the replaceable battery. All these improvements will be seen in the months ahead and are greatly appreciated.

Thats fantastic news... apart from the wait, im so impatient but definitely want the FC tweaks and battery lol. Are you going to take up the suggestion of drilling bigger holes in the mouth pieces?

INDICA REVIIEW (#2) STARTING AT TEMP #3 GREEN, #4 PURPLE, then #5 RED

Review of the Indica vaporizer starting at temp #3 Green from a FULL charge. Ambient air temp 73 degrees (relative to heat up time). Same as 1st review, I loaded the chamber lightly (not packed) with .22 grams of sour diesel, same as before with the spacer pushed flush with oven.

As the last review, this is with the mouthpiece drilled out to 3/32nds with no screen.
Sessions were same as last review in 10 hit increments, but taking 12-15 second lighter draws than on the lower temps.
Waiting 15-20 seconds in between draws, waiting 1 hour between sessions, taking an extra hit after I turned the unit off after 10 hits to cool the oven.
Here is my second review.

1st session.
Temp #3 Green 376F- Heat up time was 58 seconds. First 2 hits, excellent taste but wispy vapor. Good increasing vapor production from hits 3 through 10. Taste is amazing and cool. Very nice. Very nicely medicated!
Session time was just under 6 minutes (5:50).

2nd session.
Temp #3 again (still was hitting great so I stayed on #3) Battery indicator light white. Heat up time was less for some reason, only 54 seconds this time. Great vapor and taste right from the start. still taking "harder light/lower medium" draws (much less restriction with my mouthpiece). Super happy with the vapor production and taste. Very medicated now.
Session time was just under 7 minutes (6:55) will bump up to #4 Purple for next session. Very happy with 20 hits on #3 (plus 2 cool down hits, one after each session with great taste and vapor)

3rd session
Temp #4 Purple 394F- heat up time was 1:10. Battery indicator light white. Pulled oven door off and poked the spacer into the chamber lightly. Great taste and vapor right from the start again. Taste and vapor production still very impressive. Unit is starting to get warm midway through session around hit 5 or 6, but not unbearably hot by any means. Super heady high, still going strong. Will try temp #4 again.
Session time was 7 min.

4th session
Temp #4 Purple 394F- Heat up time was 1:17. Battery indicator still white! Amazing taste and vapor from the get go, unit and mouthpiece get warm after 3rd hit, still not unbearable but worth mentioning. Vapor seemed to stay the same from middle to end of the end of the session. Not quite as tasty as 1st session on #4, but still very satisfied.
I feel like I should have gone to #5 halfway through the session, but got through happily and feeling great.

5th session
Temp #5 Red 412F- heat up time was 1:33. Battery indicator now green. Unit a bit warmer now. I slowed my draws, and waited 30 seconds in between hits. Great vapor! Taste is good (I normally don't go above 400 but still acceptable tasting) unit and mouthpiece got warmer on #5 but not unbearable, warmer but not hot. Vapor production still there, I just had to adjust my draws, and in between hit times. I was taking much lighter slower draws on #5.
Session time was 9:30.

Charge to full time was 1 hour 54 seconds.

Final thought on the Indica:
This vaporizer is awesome.
Amazing hits, great flavor and vapor production on any temperature.
Not really much to complain about without feeling like I'm nit picking.
The dual batteries let you vape a long time, I haven't had my battery indicator reach red yet.
Unit gets warm at high temps for long sessions, but still very tolerable.
If you do not use a screen, I would recommend running a bristled pipe cleaner with ISO through the tube after every few sessions (the sour D got it a little "residuey" after a few chambers full).
keep the air path clean and it will hit like brand new everytime.
I love the fact that with less than 1/4 gram you can get 40-50 great vapes off the Indica with phenomenal taste and vapor.

I would consider the Indica to be one of the top performing portable vaporizers out there.
From the very nice wooden box, to all the extra parts provided that you would normally loose.
The pure pleasure of the vaping experience and ease of use makes the Indica a winner IMO.
I did not expect to get the Indica and all its extras for $200.
It is an exceptionally affordable portable vaporizer with a lot of bang for your buck!

Now, according to your first review, you can very tasty vapor at the lower temps. All right.

Then, according to your second review, the taste you're getting from your Indica, is either "great" or "amazing" or "good," even during your fifth session, after, apparently, approximately half an hour of cooking, although I estimate because your fourth session length of time is unclear.

Then I guess the Indica must be unlike any conduction vaporizer I've used or you're using medicine I've never tried, because I can't think of any conductive vape I've ever tried that can preserve that amount of flavor for that amount of time at that level of continuous cooking temperature (acknowledging the breaks), especially when you're starting it at 376.

I am most certainly not trying to "start" anything; I simply find this very unbelievable.

I find it particularly unbelievable that your vapor tasted "good" at 412, after four previous sessions.



Forgive me if I sound dubious, but I simply find it hard to believe the herb can taste "good," "great," or "amazing," after all those sessions.

But I say this as a flavor snob. So perhaps I'm wrong. I think great flavor is found in the 320 - 350 range or below, and once that is taken, the rest is tolerable, until it is not.

So, I respectfully ask you, as someone who is interested in the Indica, do you and I simply disagree on "where" the best flavor is found, and how long it can last?
