You got me even more excited for my indica as if that was possible. Is there much user technique involved? My only fear is the battery and short warranty are a bad mix. I want the unit to last you know. On a side note can dry hash be used in the unit

Just inhale as fast or slow as you want and you'll get vapor. No technique involved besides grinding fine and packing it fairly tight. If i'm using kief I make sure the air hole is covered with material first then the rest with kief and it works perfect

So you've been getting better results with a fine grind rather than medium? I haven't had a chance to use my MF finishing grinder yet but I will when I can and see if there is a noticeable difference.

I think every vaporizer has a "learning curve". Everyone is different, and likes what they are comfortable using. Buying a new vaporizer your walking in "unchartered territory" and have to get used to it.
People always find ways to improve on anything and that's what the makers want to know, how to improve an existing product even if its new to the market.

One thing I can tell you is I've talked to Mike the owner of Indica many times and he is passionate about his product and the consumers buying them.
Have you ever talked to the guy that invented the PAX, Volcano, Firefly, etc...
Mike is on the threads and responds to questions here on FC.
Mike is a stand up guy and would never leave you high and dry. That's not his style.

I haven't tried anything but herb, but I don't see why not hash. you'll just have to clean it more. As with any other vape with hash.

Plus as llamaman001 stated, you can use with or without the screen.
Listen to him. He helped me out a lot because he's had one for a while.
I find I like it with the herb a little bit dryer.

Probably posted but I had to laugh at this.

*The Indica vaporizer is intended for tobacco use only. Yeah sure it is!

I guess it was a silly question, I just hope it won't take the effort my mflb or the gfs firefly takes ; o yes the extensive testing I read that indica did and everything in this thread really was very impressive, and is what made it so easy to grab the indica.

The Indica has no different "learning curve" than the PAX per say.
I wouldn't say the indica really has a learning curve.

More like tryin to make a great device perform at its peak potential.
That's my idea of a "learning curve".

Once I feel I've "mastered" a vape to its full potential, i feel like I've mastered the "learning curve". If that makes sense, the little things that help.

I just enjoyed indica too the fullest playing a round of discgolf.
I just packed it and used it (finely ground dryer herb seems to work the best for me, the sour diesel, ultra haze, and dutch treat were very fresh almost moist I just dried it a little more on a piece of paper and it performed much better for me)
My friends thought I was playing a harmonica, until they saw vapor! Hilarious!

However I also know in a couple of Weeks of constant use i will find ways I think/know it work more proficiently.

So far putting the little magnet on the inside (far side corner) from a tire gauge to keep the pick secure and handy in the lid out of the way has been the only thing I've manage to not "improve" but make more convenient about it.

It is really a SOLID extremely well built portable vape that will give a newbie the same if not better vapor than the PAX but MUCH MUCH easier to maintain. It requires almost no cleaning. A lot of thought was put into the Indica.

As I enjoy it and find anything to make it more enjoyable or convenient I'll be sure to post.

Nowhere near the actual learning curve needed for FF or MFLB.

I love it. My PAXs are on the back shelf now.

Just pack the Indica and enjoi!

Reading you're recent posts has only gotten me more excited for mine to arrive. Could we get a pic of your set up with the magnet+pick? I was just thinking it would be great if the Indica had a spot on the device to store the pick for on the go use like the Ascent does, so I'm very interested in attempting a similar feat with mine.

Side note, I ordered mid-day Sunday with free shipping, and my order is still pending. Anybody know if thats normal? Maybe due to their busy-ness around the holiday?

Your fine. It will say pending until its physically shipped out.
Mike was at the big industry show in Denver and the CC.
He was pretty much focused on his vape tents and selling indicas and releasing them to the public.
Now that's over I'm sure it'll be sent very shortly.

I will try to get a "hide an Indica vape pick in the lid" pic up for you.
Basically all it is, is taking a small magnet, or 2 and put them on the inside, side of the lid and stick your vape pick to the magnets on the inside, side of your lid. There is plenty of room. I used 2 autozone cheap tire gauge magnets, they are slim and work well.

Well, mine arrived today and I've got it on the charger. I thought it was funny reading the warranty that says the warranty is void if there is evidence of use of any unauthorized materials other than specified as accepted in the vaporization guide. The guide says to use tobacco. Lol

Ah great, thought it must've been all his work going on in Denver, thanks for the quick reply! it just shipped today! I guess ill start looking if i might have any small magnets lying around in the meatime before i buy one. Free ground shipping so understandably won't get here until Friday unfortunately, but Ive already waited this long right so what's a few more days? Just makes me look forward to this weekend about 10 times as much...

Got my unit and I love it already. Nice hits easy to clean. Beats my mflb by light years even with pa imo. My question is what have you all tried using to hook the unit up for water filtration?

This is my first post here, but I'm a long time lurker. I figured I'd write a review. I've been following this thread for months in anticipation. As soon as I was able, I placed an order and that order was received yesterday.

The packaging is really nice, with the wood box being a nice touch. I also appreciated the extras it came with (a spare door, pipe cleaners, brush, etc). The unit itself is nice. It opens with a satisfying click and is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. As others have said, no one is going to mistake it for an actual zippo but it's quite pocketable and reasonably discrete. My only two gripes, and they are really minor, is first that there are two small pin prick sized scuff marks on it on each side near where the lid opens. Second, the magnet that holds the door of the oven to the base isn't very strong. I'm not really bothered by these issues, but someone else might be.

My unit appeared to come already charged. When powered on it showed a white led (which the manual indicates is close to fully charged) and I cycled through all of the heating modes. I then powered the unit down and connected the charger. The light came on while it was charging and went off within a few minutes. I think the manual is a little lacking on the charging aspect. It's not clear if the light should stay on during the whole charge cycle until it's fully charged or what. I also didn't expect to receive the unit fully charged (hopefully it was...it certainly behaved like it was...I think).

I then decided to try it. Normally I only vape on the weekends, but I was so excited I made an exception. I emptied a load from my MFLB that I had taken a few tokes from previously (it was still mostly green) into the Indica. It filled about halfway. Next, I pushed in one of the included spacers and packed it down. I then turned the unit on and set it to "green" and waited about 60 seconds.

The moment of truth had arrived, I put my mouth on the mouth piece and inhaled. I then exhaled and was pleasantly surprised by both the nice cloud of vapor I exhaled as well as the taste. Pretty soon I was thoroughly medicated. I was also happy to note that despite using a really fine grind (I use a coffee grinder) I had no issues with not having put in a screen.

I did notice that the unit became quite warm to the touch and the area where the oven is was very warm. As others mentioned you definitely want to wait for it to cool down before opening it up to empty the load or perhaps use one of the included picks.

However, once it had cooled down I emptied the load and was happy to see that it was uniformly dark brown. The color being similar to that of muscovado sugar.

Muscovado brown sugar for reference.

I've only used the Indica once thus far, but I have to say I'm very impressed with it. If this session is any indication on what I've got to look forward too, the Indica is definitely a winner.

Nice review, I noticed the same things but as said by someone early the magnet is a easy fix. This one is a absolute winner so far for me too xD so different from the mflb eh? Well happy vaping man. Have you tried any water filtration? Hash?

It's definitely different from the MFLB. First of all, this vape had no learning curve for me really. I set it to "green", waited 60 seconds, and inhaled. Second no bothering with having to stir or shake the load. I also specifically used what was sort of left over in my MFLB because I wanted to see if the Indica would be as efficient (it is).

I haven't tried water filtration or hash. I'm pretty green to whole thing. I generally either do edibles (my dispensary sells these amazing maple caramel things) or the MFLB...now the Indica.

I find my abv to be much more uniform and darker then my mflb. So I feel this is more efficient then my mflb but that may be due to user error. I personally won't use it again after this beauty Lol. Awesome I wish I lived in a legal state

@Vitolo hooked it up to a tube using some whips. Just gotta get it around the mouthpiece and then you're golden.

I saw it in the video was wondering if anyone had something different. He said it was his ssv whip iirc. It may be a noob question but where would I buy a whip like that? I'm dieng to try it connected to the bubbler.

I use the Indica when we leave home to go eat.
It is a great Vape for a short ride, to get where I am going in fine condition.
Yes..I still use it often.
I love "load-N-go" vapes.
tidy and self contained and ready to go when you are.
It sits in my pocket, with it's chamber loaded.. and it is a feeling of confodence.
I don't even need to go to my vial/jar.... just push a button to get where I need to be.

Yes I love it, easier then my friends pax imo. I'm just worried about heavy use, the Indica is going to be my daily driver until I move out in July so it will see use 4 to 5 times a day. I've seen the complaints of most other portables on the market after heavy use. But with the construction of the indica my only fear is the battery. Also I tried some hash in it with bud, I got the hash powdery and mixed it in the grinder with my herb, it worked great very flavorful.
