How many TRUE combustion-fuckers?

My last combustion was on Monday the 10th of March 2014....
The wife forced me to roll one and then she coughed her lungs out and said never again!!

The time before that was in July of 2013 when i went home for a vacation and my friends there don't own vapes and it was good home turf stuff so lots of great memories!

So a few times since i started vaping in late 2011/early 2012.

Since the last combustion i have said "Never Again!"
Tasted like burning stuff at the garbage drop off, YUCK!!!

Went 2 years without combusting. Quit cigarettes & weed. After 2 years I got a wooden pipe and tried to smoke some remedial herbs, but it effected my throat, skin condition, lung capacity and breathing.

Got a vape, never looking back!

I'm more or less 18 months combustion free these days. Unfortunately I got a nice taste of combustion at lunchtime today. I tried to heat my E-Nano too quickly. I had it set to 10 but did not wait long enough after turning it down to about 7.5. Usually I notice accidental combustion before I inhale or taste it but today I got a filthy big hit. Ewww. I can't believe I used to do that deliberately and enjoyed the experience.

i've been combustion free for 3 weeks now, im in my 4th week. i decided that smoking is great, but since im a medical user, i'm going to be using MMJ for the rest of my life (only 19 now!) so smoking fat bong rips 4 - 5 times a day wouldn't be in my best interest, and i should just start vaping. honestly it hasn't been hard at all, i don't even want to combust. it tastes so bad. another reason i decided to FC completely is because my condition acts up a lot when i travel or sleep anywhere other than my house, and it's really stressful for me to have to bring a bong, weed, scale, etc, and find a place and time to be able to prepare and smoke it when im travelling. i figured if i bought a portable and started vaping full time, that would help me out alot. bought my solo last week, can't wait to start vaping on the go. this forum has helped me so much!

Sundays are my combustion days. Couch lock central! It sounds weird but I reward myself with combustion once a week. I still love the toxic high I get. But M-Sat, I'm vaping.

Over time, vaping will alter your tastebuds and you will loose all motivation to combust due to the flavor.
I prided myself on my taste of flowers and could point out all the subtle flavors in different herbs (and I keep lots of variety) when I used to combust. Now combustion, no matter the material, all tastes the same to me. It is just downright awful, foul, tar-like and distasteful. I never thought, but every strand just tastes like heavy tar and crap when smoked.

Now, when I vape, I do note all the subtle flavors again and they are stronger than ever! Distinction between strands is deliciously easy too. I only combust now in social settings where vaping is no option- however that is very very rare considering I tend to pack the Lotus or the Hammer with me.

It's not much the taste, it's the extremtly relaxing feeling you get from the combusting. I could almost get same results when I crank up some ABV on my volcano.

I've been vaping off and on for over 7 years, mainly combusting. I love all OG strains because of that piney type smell/taste even when combusting on first hit. All other hits are now gross when I compare it to vaping.

Now I've been vapor-bonging with my solo so that's keeping me away from the pipe (i sound like a crack head haha). I also own a lotus and that produces a nice taste, IMO better than SOLO. But ive combusted so many times with the lotus because I get trigger happy with the lighter. Still a great portable though.

Regarding the Lotus, have you been following their thread?
You could potentially have a bad plate, and MaxJitter has redesigned the heating plate to reduce failures. From my understanding there should now be a far lesser possibility of combustion.

Take your plate off, be careful not to strip the screws, then hold it up to some light. If you see any pinholes or significant cracks, update to the newest plate and you should have a better success rate.

I find it hard to recognise smoked strains now a lot of the times even though I know what they are as I rolled them.

I can do the subtle flavours with my Lotus but that is not what I use it for if I want to turn into some alt version of Oz Clarke I use my solo.

I've also found combustion 1st and then vaping a while later is weird

I won't lie. Whenever I pick up my oil I also make sure to get a gram of nugs as a freebie or for five bucks.

So I still combust. Although sparingly. With my current setup (o pen), oil is nice to get medicated but doesn't deliver the head bombing rush that is customary with a bowl of weed.

I'm looking to change that though and upgrade to something that puts out slightly bigger clouds.

The only reason I'm combusting is because I dont have a portable at the moment, but even then, I can only smoke only a bit. I just hate it now.

Started out smoking 2 packs of cigs a week, and 4ish joints a day. I've been cigs free since Feb. Love it. Playing basketball everyday, and it just shows in my game that I'm better because I'm less tired. Been playing basketball since I was 5, played so much less when I was combusting, I've got so much love for the game though. Vaporizing is helping me enjoy it more than I have in a long time.So, four months since I quit and now I feel my lungs are at a 100%. I lost a good amount of weight because I was motivated to get my heart and lungs feeling better since I stopped smoking. I started looking towards healthy stuff. Got a juicer as well. Diet has improved a lot. Everyone tells me my face looks healthier, and they're right, theres more color to it now.

Also the migraine pills are long gone. I remember the days when I used to get so stressed out and pissed off because of a migraine that I would take a lot of medication. One pill doesn't work, I double the dosage, that doesn't work I take something else as well. Fuck that, god knows how much damage I've done to my kidneys and liver. These days I just grab a large glass of water and run towards the e-nano with a smile on my face.


Basically FC helped make a better me. I got a lot of respect to all these members that are generous enough to share their knowledge with me and others. You've got some amazing people here, and its just a beautiful community. Please, don't let it turn into what the rest of the internet is becoming.

Hmm all vapor tastes the same? Maybe try lower temps; the taste should be in-your-face at 345F-360F.

You need to get the knack of the solo it should do something to you neccessity is the mother of all invention. solos differ but mine on 3 gives me a sweet floral taste that is pleasant whereas the the 7 mark i get a light toast smell.

I would buy a cheap vaporizer once you get there. Something you can dispose of. I wouldn't risk traveling with a previously used vape, or something you don't want to lose.
