I HATE my SCS. I think it's the most overpriced piece of trash I ever got. Compared to the LARGE SLX 2.0 grinder, it's no contest.
Just my 2 cents, but I would NEVER get the SCS or recommend it to anyone and it's sitting on my desk. It's far too overpriced. There are just better grinders out.
Edit: I've owned very few grinders, and none of them bad quality, so "bad" to me is a relative term.
Like the S Class Mercedes is a Trash car to me.... You must hate the world to buy such a car today... but I digress.

I definitely noticed a difference when I stopped filtering kief. Most got lost in the screens even, and it's hard to vape pure kief in the vapes I like anyway. Will never use a four piece again, I really am glad to be done with that personally
Why though... The SLX fixed every problem I had with the SCS. I wasn't getting kief, I had to eventually clean the top part because it gets gunked up, the SLX 2.0 Large outclasses the 4 piece medium SCS in every way. Especially if you liked the 3pc more.
The ONLY thing about my SCS that's great obviously is it's the LARGE one so I can grind up TON of bud. It's not terrible, there are just a lot of better grinders out. If I could do it again, I would try all of the great stuff I've learned about since joining the forum.
I intend on getting 3-5 more grinders, but I don't see any beating out my SLX 2.0 usage.

How do you find the grind consistency? Is it even, fluffy, and fine enough?
I noticed a massive difference going from 4 piece to 3 piece. I'll never go back to sifting kif. But I can see how some people like it, especially if your tolerance is extremely low.
Just curious why? The problem with the SLX is that it doesn't come in a 3 piece, and using a 4 piece like a 3 just isn't the same, especially from a dexterity point.

I'm not sure what you mean about using it as a 3 piece. Using it as a 3 piece wouldn't change anything for usage that I can think of at all but I don't use it like that. As a 4 piece, it's just superior to the SCS 4 piece for sure.
This again goes for the LARGE version. I wouldn't use the small version if you gave it to me for free. They are completely different products in my eyes. The teeth placement is different on the small vs the large.

Fascinating ... didn't consider that the grind consistency would be different between sizes ... I like the grind consistency of the large SCS--just right in my opinion ...

I ended up pulling the trigger on the Gr8tr Vape 3 pc. It seemed like the best value at about 65 CAD. All the others I found were around 90-100+ and seem to all be similar top quality like gr8tr.
Owning the grinder, I don't see how anything changes if you use it as a 3 piece. It only changes the interior portion not the exterior function.
I don't own a GR8TR yet, it's my next purchase. But I love the SLX and it was cheaper than the GR8TR. The largest downside is because the interior screen is removable easily to make it into a 3 piece. If you drop the grinder, it will not only lose the weed portion, but the kief portion too. Unless you aren't using it as a 4 piece, then whatever.
Because the GR8TR was more expensive, I wanted to try the SLX first, but if it's between those 2, just get whichever you like most right now. Both are good, can't go wrong.

I'd think even using a 2pc/3pc smashes off a shitload of the trichs.
I don't use a coin or some bullshit and don't shake my grinder so I don't collect a ton of kief but at least it's collected nicely in a pile for me at the bottom rather than smashed all against the walls in those solid flakes that are pretty much useless for me.
Still no one else with a Super Weapon 2? I don't have a gr8r to compare but it would have to automatically shred the bud for me for it to be worth double what I spent on my super weapon 2 lol

I'm glad my current daily driver is the Supreme.... i just don't know if it's connoisseur enough to break buds apart with my fingers now, or use tweezers? lol Love the flavour of unground

It is a true 3.5 piece. Externally it is a 3-piece, and the screen is a smaller threadless section that slips inside. With it removed the external dimensions are exactly the same.
If two of them were loaded up side by side, one with the screen and one without, you wouldn't be able to tell which was which unless you opened it up, or I guess you could cheat and weigh them.

One thing I do rather like is the way the SLX is weighted. The top weighs 20% more than the other two sections & that helps with how it grinds & feels in the hand. Just churns buds up.

Personnaly I'm still sticking with a cheap no name large grinder I bought some years ago... recently received the herborizer grinder which is pretty nice (but nothing special) although I prefer a larger one. the gring it doess is pretty decent but more on the coarse side. I also get a Vapornation grinder for free with translucid top I like but a bit small too...
I own a lot of grinder designed for a finer grind but they are a pia to use and quickly caked.

Dude, thanks for explaining that to me! SLX is my next! But when you take the screen out aren't there "things" in the way? Like the things that are used to "catch" the screen. Haven't watched the videos on it yet.
You know, if you go back in this thread I actually bought the SLX 2.0 large at the same time as my kannastor last year on 4/20, only the SLX was out of stock so I only received the kannastor which I recently sold (and regret doing so).
What's this super weapon 2? Who else are the big boys on the block? Mendo Mulchers still have CS issues? Apparently make a helluva grinder..?

Got mine in matte black, not into the colors.
Really good c/s. First one came w a defect and had a new tracking # within an hr. Gives a pretty medium/medium-fine grind and the kief screen is also removable and it operates fine without it in there for those opposed to sifting kief.
It's $50 and there was some code so I ended up getting mine for $40 w free priority shipping. Also ended up with 2 silicone containers, hella smellproof bags and some dope stickers so overall was great value for $40
