anybody know if waldo lansky is legit on ebay? he has space cases at really good deals.

Also check out Puff-it-Up. I got a good deal on my 2 piece Space Case, better with their discount code and even better with very fast, free shipping.

I took your advice. got the large titanium 2pcs for 33 shipped with the code. After the holidays i'll get a 4 pcs. For the meantime i now have a reason to use the nice stash jar i never use... store ground herbs

Update.

Found a metal grinder described as follows - "so strong that it can be used to grind your solid! "

It's frequently referred to in this thread, but not in the context of hash.

So, just to let everyone know; the Space Case Titanium Grinder is suitable for herb AND hash.

Will let you know how I get on with it.

Thanks again for all your replies.

The SC is no better than any other grinder for hash. Why would it be? Super strong aluminum? Super sharp teeth? Not a chance. Believe that SC has something that sets it apart from other grinders, performance wise, if you want, but I've proven to myself that it isn't so. The 4 pc. SC grinders aren't worth the money IMO. OTOH, if you're talking about 2 pc. grinders, the FC discounts from a few of our recommended sellers make those an excellent deal.

Personally, I wouldn't use a grinder for hash. You're going to smear a lot of product on the grinder IMO, at least with the hash I'm used to. I think a good way to prepare hash for vaping is to shave it with a razor blade.

Yeah - it was the 2 piece titanium I was referring to.

Personally, i find acrylic grinders sore on the hands abrasion-wise.

I take on board your comments re. wastage, but I haven't experienced that myself.

I like to grind it mainly because I find it easier to judge how much I'm using.

I recently bought a grinder, and a very satisfied with it
first I used a friend's grinder a few times, but that grinder sucks, it is very high/thick, has a pollensief, and pieces of weed become stuck between the pollenscreen and the teeth above, it doesn't grind it that well and the weed stays stuck between the teeth a lot

last week I discovered there's a headshop in the city(the closest city to the village where I live), so ofcourse I had to check it out, walked out there with a stone pipe and a grinder
I was looking at etal grinders at first, but the guy there recomended this grinder, it's plastic but not acrylic, that guy sdaid it was some sort of silicones, anyway something a bit softer so the teeth won't break off as easy
and as the guy said, it grinds really well:D
and since it isn't metal it doesn't need a magnet to stay shut, so not a spot in the middle where you can't put weed
and it's just a simple 2 piecegrinder(what I was looking for), and pocketsize, especially now it's more windy weather a grinder is really usefull when vaping/smoking outside

Just got my 2 pcs large space case titanium from puffitup.com in the mail today [along with black ops, boo-yah!]

anyway, gave it a nice iso bath, let it dry and went to work. this thing is a tank. crushes herb with ease. large amounts or small. after only using it twice i can see why people swear by them.

Final update.

Got my 2 piece Space Case Titanium Medium size grinder today, and I'm very happy with it.

It ground my hash much easier and quicker than my previous acrylic one, and was much more comfortable to use - no more sore hands or skinned fingers!

I can see why it is so highly favoured on this forum, and I'm pretty impressed at the way it handled the hash - no mean feat. I did not find that any was left stuck on the teeth at all, and this is supposedly due to the titanium, which is said to be non-stick.

Definitely a quality product which is worth the extra money over the acrylic alternatives - I am now a convert for life!

Damn, seems like almost everyone has the same setup as I do.

I have a titanium 2 piece Space Case in both the medium AND large version, and right now I prefer the medium. Have had the large for much longer, though.

Anyone know where to get that marble motar hand grinder thing? Also, can a coffee grinder (Proctor Silex?) effectively grind small amounts- like a gram or less?

I wouldnt count on a coffee grinder for small amounts, why dont you just get a small 2 piece grinder with a lot of teeth?

Just thinking what would be good for the MFLB. I have a couple of 4 piece grinders that work ok, but I want an initial fine grind for the LB. So, I was thinking if I could find that marble thing somewhere, I could use it after the initial grind using my grinders. Or buy a spice grinder. But I would want a small one, or at least one that grinds small amount s effectively.

I'm always looking to buy something!

I have the small aluminum space case - cost about $20 - and it's wonderful especially if you want a very fine near powder grind.
It almost works too good - if you're not careful you will over grind material so you have to be mindful depending on your need.
The mortar and pestle works good also but given a choice I would probably go with the space case.
I have a nice mortar and pestle from Ebay, it's onyx, picked it up for about $15. It's worth having regardless.

Agreed, I have a titanium 2 piece Space Case but in the medium size and its got a ton of teeth and can grind as fine or as coarse as you like(depending on what method your using). I say get a 2 piece Space Case and you will be happy!

I should have went with the medium space case, but the small is great. I'm in Queens if you ever want to try out the PD before yours arrives..

Hello Peeps,

Said I'd post some pics once I got my new grinder from KellysGreatProducts off of ebay.

And the "money shot" :ninja: (OMG so happy its back...for us lucky Canucks)

Anyways, great grinder.
Sure, it's not polished from head to toe and may show tiny tool marks or grooves
No worries about metal flakes either.
But, for $12.50 its performs on par with any of the space cases or or other $40-$50+ grinders, minus the "prettyness" we'll call it lol. Still looks good though as you can see.
It's a 2.5 inch diameter. I got 6mm holes, had a choice of 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm I believe.
I took the pics after I used it for the first time.

Anyways, nothing to complain about.....at $12.50 how can you.

Now, just if my Woodeez would arrive already....

:p

I regularly use a proctor-silex coffee grinder for grind .5-1.0g of herb- sometimes it starts out just getting bounced around, but tilting the grinder back and forth and sideways always gets it chopping in my experience.

I've found that a coffee grinder does the best job of powderizing herb for the MFLB (vs my 4pc mendo mulcher), and the mulcher does the best job for the PD/SSV and spliffs.

Of course, this is just my own experience, YMMV.

Yep. That fine mesh screen and conduction style begs for a really fine grind.

and the mulcher does the best job for the PD/SSV and spliffs.
If you mean a 4 pc., I'd agree on the latter two, although, for me a $16 Sharp Crusher does as good a job as the more expensive Mendo. The log vapes do better with a two piece grind IMO. I'll usually do a screen grind if I want to separate kief, then put it through a 2 pc. before loading in a PD tube.

I picked up a Titan 2 pc. from KGP on eBay recently. It's the same size as the MixnBall Classic (2.2", 56mm) with the MnB very slightly deeper. It has a nice, dark gray anodized coating (considerably darker than the MnB-almost black) with a few more teeth, although the MnB's teeth have more edges (Titan has the standard diamond shaped teeth), and there are more grinding edges on the perimeter too. Like the MnB, a reasonable # of teeth makes for easier herb loading. Titan has a thick, white o-ring which gives it a black and white look. TITAN appears on the top 4 times (a little overkill there IMO), also in white. Kelly shipped this 2 pc. really quick and it was only $13 delivered. The small Space Case 2 pc. is very affordable (especially for FC members), but this is a nice option if you want a darker, anodized model for $5 or so cheaper than the shiny SC version. Personally, I'd give the edge to the MnB Classic ($16 on eBay) over the Titan, for more sharp edges and no o-ring to mess with as far as cleaning, losing, breaking, etc., but the Titan is nice.

The 4 pc. Titans have removeable screens like the MnB grinders. Since I like the 2 pc., I guess I'm gonna have to feed my grinder obsession and try a 4 pc. The similarity between this brand (it did come in a branded box with instructions) and MnB makes me wonder if MnB was the inspiration for Titan. :hmm: I don't find it anywhere but Kelly's store on eBay though.

Thank you Max! That led me to spend an evening comparing grinders on ebay and puffitup. The MixnBall looks really nice w/ the textured outside. I ended up grabbing a small titanium Space case from puffitup. Thanks again for your detailed review.

Also, to add to my earlier comments- the coffee grinder works well for the SSV/PD as well, just need to pulse it and check frequently to ensure that you don't over grind (especially for the PD, the SSV is more forgiving with a fine grind, IME).

With the 4pc mulcher, I usually grind it upside down (for a finer grind) then fill my PD tubes/SSV tubes directly from the mesh-bottom part- so its function as more of a combo grinder/storage/loading tray is what I enjoy. Not sure if that made sense, it's early and I haven't vaked yet :uhoh:

ETA: And of course 30 minutes after I order I find a sweet tiny 1.5" 2pc mendo mulcher on ebay...must...resist...urge...to...buy...duplicate...stuff...
