The Sparkling Mind

Now is gone
There are times for the capsules but of coarse they restrict air flow a little. The draw is fine with them but wide open without.
when I use the capsules I take the screen out of the mouth piece for less restriction.
Without a sleeve I'm betting that gets extremely hot being shiny metallic finish. That is the only thing holding me back from jumping on this. I'm a heavy user and I can just feel the heat coming from this little beauty 🔥
it gets warm but not hot. I have held it in my hand for back to back 5 minute sessions and it never gets uncomfortable.

OK, I haven't found anything I don't like about the R2.
Granted, I have not been in the vape world long and have not been through the progression of the technology or experienced the top rated devices but i feel charmed that i come back to the plant at this time and step right into the Rogue 2.

I have read and watched many reviews for the past year while getting reacquainted with cannabis. I never knew the plant like this back in the stoner days. The Rogue 2 is what I have been looking for. I don't want to be a smoker. The roaches, the ash tray, the stench...gone.

I have done 5 minute sessions around 360-365 and had terpy hits for most of the session. just enough roastyness at the end without getting unpleasant.

Now I am working with 3 minute sessions, (the lowest setting). I also want to try turning it off after the first hit and back on later but seems to me reheating the buds is not the most efficient or flavorful way to extract the goods.

7/16 diameter x 7/16 tall with cap.
They are well made. I think I remember hearing they are bigger now but the OG capsules will still work, just not a tight fit.
The Rogue SE accessories are compatible with the Rogue 2.
A HR rep mentioned it when announcing the Rogue 2.

Sweet, seems like they're the same OD, just a .1mm taller, so the OG ones should definitely be compatible.

i got to say the rogue2 dose caps are easy to load and unload.
they fit almost too tight.
they are the best dhv caps i have ever used and so well built.
however, for me, caps reduce the bowl size too much, down by a third.
plus, you need more conduction heat to make them work well.
tbh- i'm not a fan of dose caps because of arthritic crippled fingers.
i discovered angus enhanced glass stems are smaller in diameter, not a tight fit, disappointing. how much smaller in mm diameter idkn. i need a good Caliper

Would adding an appropriately sized o-ring address the issue?
yes it would, great idea.

regarding the R2's black chrome body, does not scratch easily and fingerprints wipe off with a smooth cloth.
for me, the R2 is superior to the og rogue.
The only complaint i have is the air-hole is kind'a noisy. but very effective. wonder if we can make it more quite without damaging it?

i realize R2 is brand new but the R2 battery lasts a long time and when i reach 1 bar, i charge it. it takes 90min on a slow 1/2amp wall charger.

Healthy Rips Team : i need to find out if a fast charge 2 or 3 amp charging wall charger block would damage or reduce the battery's charge cycle amt?
TeeCe from HR answered in a email
"The best and fastest charge would be a 5V 2A charging block - and this is considered fast charging. Anything higher than that can damage the battery"

for the money rouge 2 is a hit and a rocker. i am so happy now, because it is small in size and i can carry a good hitting vape and conceal it without worry.

Hopefully the healthy rips team chimes in.. i don't see them responding much in this thread which is disappointing...

Is the rogue 2 a truly isolated airpath? This is the only feature I am concerned with. The Solo 3 and venty are not truly isolated as the airpath goes through wires. Even though they both claim and isolated path. Can HealthyRips confirm that the air path is truly isolated and the air does not pass through wiring?

i had to email them cause i don't know if they monitor fc closely.
if that is a major concern try emailing them from their website or DM them for their fc profile page plse let us know

Hi! We do keep an eye on this thread - we just try to let the conversation flow without interrupting too much. We don't want to come across as pushy :). We are always here for you and will answer any questions that you have.
The airpath/vaporpath on our devices have been completely isolated since the very beginning our our company in 2016. Health is one of our top priorities along with performance (powerful and flavorful vapor production). The stainless steel heating element is flash welded to the stainless steel wiring that is completely sealed off from the electronics. Flash welding is a method of fusing stainless steel directly to stainless steel with no filling materials. Further, you can test the isolation by covering the bottom intake hole with your finger and try to take a draw. You will not be able to get any airflow due to the isolated pathway.

We sincerely hope that this answers your question.

Have an amazing day!

hr rogue2 has brought me to a place where i can vape all day until night on a single charge. i vape almost hourly but i micro dose often so i can stay high and out of debilitating pain from 2 types of arthritis. anyway i cannot explain why but i can use .1g of cannabis and get about the same effects as a much more expensive 100% convection vape using .15g.
our fc rules say not to name comparison brand names so i won't. but i'm constant amazed how often i reach the Rogue2 a less expensive vape. i think this little black mirrored machine punches way above it's weight. how do you feel about rogue2's internal battery with charging ability while using it, as long as your battery is showing 20% power?
how do you counter the buyers say it must have replaceable battery argument? for me i must admit i do not have much experience with lipo batts? How do you guys defend that argument?
and what are your experience with it?
What ways can you treat your battery so they last years and prevent rapid degrade, as some claim happens?

I don't own a Rogue 2, but I have had a Rogue for nearly a year. It took over from my replaceable battery vapes (which I still love dearly) after a few weeks precisely because of the internal battery. I hadn't realized how much fussing extrenal batteries were causing me until I no longer had to do it. With the Rogue I simply plug in the USB when there are less than four bars. I realize that eventually the internal battery will not hold its charge, but based on my experience with external batteries that's a long way into the future. Of course there are people who think they'll run out of power with no opportunity to recharge, but many of them would be surprised by how long the internal battery lasts. It's not the drawback some people make it out to be.

Lack of a fully cleanable air/vapor path puts an expiration date on the device shorter than the non replaceable battery everyone stresses about. This, along with non replaceable batteries, has been a design decision by HR for eons. If it's a problem, vote with your wallet and don't buy the device.

I see the positives of the built in battery with it's long life and pass through capability, from a simplicity stand point. I also really love that new finish they have, the mouthpiece/stem/wpa mouthpiece options, and magnetic slide in component.

Advantages of the LiPo battery over the user replaceable 18650 batteries:
  1. The ROGUE 2 has twice the battery life per charge than the L'bo.
  2. The ROGUE 2 has pass-through charging (can be used while charging) vs. L'bo cannot.
  3. No need to fuss around with replacing batteries every 40 minutes (like the L'bo), with the ROGUE 2 you have very long battery life (about 90 minutes) - but if you run low on battery, you can simply plug it into a power source or battery bank and continue to use it while charging.
  4. No need to carry around a bunch of extra batteries wherever you go. With the ROGUE 2, you can just plug it in and continue using while it's charging.
  5. ROGUE 2 heat-up time is twice as fast as the L'bo.
  6. Safety and reliability: The internal battery never gets handled by the user. And HR devices are super reliable because everything is contained.

I don't know why, but I expected this to not have the robot fart smell and taste like other convection-leaning portables I've tried (V3 Pro & Roffu). I cleaned all parts and ran it at max temp several times with no difference. It may just be the nature of the resistive heating elements used in these designs? I haven't tried a halogen like the AE, but it's not as portable and it's not clear if it has its own smell/taste.

I love my butane convection vapes (Tempest & Convector) for on demand. I will keep doing some burnoffs for a bit, but if that doesn't work I'll return and keep using my Pax Plus for sessions on the go.

since we should talk about other vape names directly, the Plus uses the same type of conduction heater.
rogue2 is a hybrid heating device and uses a stainless steel heater and high grade titanium bowl , only uses a glass mouthpiece and stainless steel air-path tube directly to the heater/oven there is no robot smell entering your lungs or mouth. i do 2 5min burn-offs to get rid of machine oils and possible human contamination.
rogue 2 does it all on sell for $119

I've been quiet because all the good things that I have read here from others are true and I don't have any complaints or much to add.

As for burn off, I probably did 2 cycles and i have had no foul tastes or odors. This R2 has been broken in with some premium buds.

I have settled into a temp setting of 385 and a 3 minute session time as my current home base with this device.
I'm still liking the baller stem for water-less cooling. I have been using it without the dosing capsules and just wipe out the chamber with an an iso wipe wrapped around a q-tip every few bowls. (Hold it upside down so no dripping inside). Coarse ground flower never gets in the tiny holes. The spent flower taps out easy if you don't leave it in there. Even then, just poke it and it comes right out.

This thing is so easy to keep clean, I can't see it ever being a problem.

While I know it is clear that HR says it is strictly a dry herb device, I have been tempted to try some crumble on a Linx lava pad in a capsule upside down to a water piece. Anyone had experience with concentrates in a device like this?

Edit: Yeah, never mind. not a good idea.

Thank you both for sharing your experience. I'm glad that you're happy with yours.

I wore the battery down doing max temp burnoffs. I'll do 2 more batteries worth and then decide if I'm keeping it.

It may be that I am more sensitive to the smell than others. It reminds me of the odor that comes from a hair dryer if you know what I mean? With the other 2 convection portables I had, I just started using them despite the odor. I suspect that it didn't really go away but became masked by herb aroma.
