Discontinued Ghost MV1

I continue to be very impressed with Ghost customer support. I've had an issue for several months that I had been sitting on, due to lack of time. With Nerissa joining the forum (THANK YOU FOR THAT...I just couldn't get into VapeLife for some reason), I was emboldened to revive the MV1.

After entering a ticket, I was asked to provide a video of the coil while trying to heat it. Within an hour, I was notified that they would be shipping me a replacement. It is so refreshing to experience a company that seems committed to their customers and their product quality. To side-step the drama I've had with other vaping products is so refreshing (S&B was my top tier before but Ghost has supplanted them for customer service quality). Most specifically, to avoid having to send a unit in for repair and then wait months to even HEAR about a replacement or repaired unit (chirp, chirp) is a true pleasure.

I've missed the big fella and look forward to rejoining GhostTown. This attention to product and customer will keep me interested in their future products. Well done.

If I could upload pics I would here but the actual swing arm of the crucible door on the MV1. On my satin it moves back and forth freely. On the stealth it stays in place once you open it past the detent. I'll post pics on Vape Life Forum later.
I have an older model MV1 and it has what you’re talking about. It lightly pops into place but it’s loose and wobbly while a buddy of mine with a stealth has it and it’s much tighter. I also played with another that’s somewhat newer than mine, not too sure how old, but it did NOT have that, it swung freely. So I’d say no, it’s not new but I have noticed that some have it and some don’t. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Doesn't bug me at. Just curious. Seems like it's hit or miss. The MV1 is my favorite device and the stealth edition sweetened the pot

My door is super wobbly and it's brand new. It may get worse but we will see. I can't believe that I can blow gh bong sized hits in this portable :) loving it! Now I need some more crucibles and the dispenser.
I like the wobble because when I turn the device at an angle while its open, it rests on my thumb and feels reassuring somehow....like when a chick runs her fingers through your hair........but now you're older and don't have hair so you buy a Harley and pretend Bud Light tastes good....

Alright, so I am now a few days and many crucibles into the Ghost.

First thing, I love taking this thing with me despite the size. I need a fanny pack for it, sure, but I really like the on demand convection for out and about. It is nice to take a hit or two and not have a session.

Second thing, a wee bit finicky. I probably only get consistent and complete vaporization of my herbs about half the time. I have resorted to stirring but it is a bit of a headache with the crucibles. I have tried many packs as well, less, more, tighter, looser. There doesn't seem to be much reliability in this as an indication of what is getting vaped. I know I am doing something wrong but really not sure what.

Also cleaning is pretty quick. Lots of parts aren't in the air path and have only moderate build ups. The heat sink and some crucibles do get gunky. Luckily it is pretty easy to disassemble and iso the metal/ceramic and give a nice warm cloth to the gasket and top piece.

Takes some getting used to. Gets easier and more consistent with time as you learn. Biggest culprit of "ghost" hits for me has been the heatsink seal and underfilled crucibles. I have found when I'm not getting a hit, it's usually something I'm doing wrong

I was stirring too when I first got mine but your technique gets better and you find that stirring isnt necessary but maybe in rare occasions.

You have to learn to read what your ABV is telling you and also your strain. For example.....Is your herb fluffy and spongy? It will most likely shrink in the crucible after a few hits so you'll want to over pack this strain slightly.

after 2 or 3 hits rotate your crucible front to back

How many hits do you guys typically get from one crucible? Also what temperature is that as well.

I use 2 ways......

First way:
392f
2 to 3 hits
Rotate basket
2 to 3 hits
Set to 410f
1 to 2 hits
Done

Way 2.... not recommended until you learn device more as you can char.

Set to 420F
1 to 2 hits
Rotate crucible
1 to 2 hits
Done.
