I haven't played any of the expansions. Are they worth dumping more time in?
I enjoyed Shadow of the Erdtree which was the only dlc for Elden Ring. If you really liked Elden Ring and wanted more i would say go for it. Easily and extra 25-40 hours of play. Nightreign is a stand alone rouguelite set in the soulsbourne universe coming out in May. They had a network test beta over the weekend. Its really different than any other soulsbourne game.

I've really been enjoying Avowed. Certainly not a perfect game but it's pretty great at what it focuses on and has satisfying combat. A few years ago I watched quite a bit of my friend's Pillars of Eternity play through and enjoyed the lore and atmosphere of the game but had no desire to invest the time it took to play that game. Avowed is very streamlined and an easy game to play for anyone who has been interested in pillars or the lore.

I'm loving it! Just made it to the third land. Agreed it's not perfect, but it's very fun. Reminds me of a better version of Skyrim? Writing is more Obsidian than Bethesda. Story is ok, but the dialogue is well written. Every RPG should have Avowed's Lore/Dialogue system. Never played the Pillars games but I'm interested in doing a playthrough now👍

Also, performance on PC is excellent even without any frame gen fuckery. Searching online, I saw the normal bitching. But this is a good game. Looks like the review aggregate has it at about 8/10 which would be my score as well. Obsidian seems happy with sales so far too.

Playing Split Fiction with my wife. New co-op game from Hazelight Studios. It's been great so far. Josef Fares and his team are on a run right now. Can we get more couch co-op games in general? No one else is making these!

I'm almost at the third region too. I played a little bit on my PC and it ran very well but it did have a crashing issue after 1.5-2 hours but I think it just got fixed in the latest patch.

I'm surprised I like it as much as I do but also Obsidian rocks. It's really getting me excited for outer worlds 2, loved the first. When I started avowed I told myself that I was going full magic with wand and grimoire but I've since respec'd because I gotta have my flintlock glock, grimoire stays though.

Calm Consistency
As someone who doesn't dive into RPGs a whole lot, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has been amazing. The attention to detail in human interactions, your impact on the world, really is incredible. It's nothing I'd expect to see in a video game, or something I'd ever think to be impressed about.

Went on a quest, got super drunk with some people. Went back to town, first comment "where's your clothes?"
I look down, turns out I took em all off in my drunk stupor.

Later, came across some enemies, and entered a cutscene, where my guy reached down to unsheathe his sword.
I had no sword on this outfit.

When he reached down, he patted for his sword, and looked panicked when he realized he didn't have it.

While that alone doesn't make a game more "fun", it really lets you appreciate what you're playing, and knowing it's made by people who love games.

I'm only a tiny portion through, but I think it's safe to say if you're into these types of games, you'd most likely appreciate it as well.
I started Skyrim a few months ago, and it gives that same vibe of an insanely deep and immersive world, but without the fantasy, and much more realism.
