Me when I hear a Corpo doing HR Corpo-Speak:

This is accidentally an interesting piece of film. Because while this Corpo is spouting incoherent nonsense that doesn't answer the question, the camera zooms out and you can clearly understand why all the layoffs happened:

The Line didn't go up . Simple as that. It doesn't matter that Xbox made a fuck ton of money. It doesn't matter if a game is successful, meeting literally every metric set for its success. The Line did not go up. So, there must be a human sacrifice.

The video game industry isn't different than any other aspect of our society. And this is the only real Law our society has:

The Line must go up.

All other considerations secondary.

Crew expendable.

Been playing Helldivers 2 a ton lately! You play a minimally trained, heavily armed and highly expendable soldier for Super Earth who fights either against the undemocratic robot communists (who are the children of cyborgs who just wanted to be independent), or the bugs who are made out of the valuable Element 710 that recently escaped the farming planets set up after Helldivers 1. Presumably we’ll also see the Iluminids who are inspired by the Little Grey Men aliens at some point soon since they were who we liberated our FTL tech from.

Game is a 4 person coop similar to Left 4 Dead, with a nice thick coating of military industrial sarcasm and an excessive military budget for barely limited nuke usage. Also friendly fire is on and is just as deadly against players as enemies.

Earthling flora is... fascinating.
Lots of Rogue, lots of Nethack. Caves of Qud is finally out of early access. Binding of Isaac. Picked up some newly released/restored commodore games on Lemon. Feeling really nostalgic and modern games are a hassle right now lol.

With the Steam Summer Sale here, I'm curious to hear what single player games you've enjoyed recently?

Btw, I'm still using a 1080TI...

Never played a Warhammer game but BG3 got me to enjoy turn based combat so I'm trying this:

Praise the Omnissiah! It's currently 80% off on Steam

It seems I picked a fortuitous time in history to start getting into Warhammer 40,000 games. If you're like I was and unfamiliar with the Warhammer 40k universe, it depicts a decrepit fascist Empire ruled over by a literal corpse.

If you're a fan of Baldur's Gate 3 I highly recommed:

My new policy: I pirate games. Play the game for a while. If I decide it's worthwhile, I'll buy it on Steam to support the devs.

Honestly, I eventually want to get a big SSD and pirate the games I've purchased in the past too. In a world of digital downloads and DRM, you own nothing. Unless you become a buccaneer and sail the digital Seven Seas

Been playing my Analogue Duo a lot lately, mostly Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair and New Adventure Island; these games never seem to get old to me! Really love this system now that all the kinks have been sorta worked out, it's amazing to play TG16/PCE on the big screen in the living room with a wireless controller!

On the newer side of things I’m looking forward to giving Raiden Nova a go. It’s a spinoff from the main series but every title I’ve played from that (I, II, IV, V) has been pretty solid and so I’m looking forward to seeing how they translate it over into a twin stick shooter.

i need to change my build for 3º time to kill this madafaka

Have you tried it lately? When the DLC dropped, Fromsoft patched in letting you use the freaky little horse during the fight. Makes it much easier.
