Me when I hear a Corpo doing HR Corpo-Speak:
This is accidentally an interesting piece of film. Because while this Corpo is spouting incoherent nonsense that doesn't answer the question, the camera zooms out and you can clearly understand why all the layoffs happened:
The Line didn't go up . Simple as that. It doesn't matter that Xbox made a fuck ton of money. It doesn't matter if a game is successful, meeting literally every metric set for its success. The Line did not go up. So, there must be a human sacrifice.
The video game industry isn't different than any other aspect of our society. And this is the only real Law our society has:
The Line must go up.
All other considerations secondary.
Crew expendable.
