I'm not a big fan of the iditarod, but I am a huge fan of this dude:
Nobody's ever been so dominant in competitive mushing, but he's fallen on hard times. When he was at his peak a few years ago, he was also fighting cancer. The other mushers couldn't beat him fair and square, so they tried to get him dq'd for smoking weed. But ak is a medicinal state so the race committee let him do it.
Legacy: his dad won by 1 second back in 1978, when the race was only 5 years old.
His little brother is in the race this year, and while he probably won't do as well as hid dad and big bro, he continues the tradition of being part of the coolest fucking family in dog mushing:
