What has been seen can not be unseen :|
This may be the best article on total health and wellness that I've ever seen.

"If you can:
  1. Turn the power on (this is a balanced nervous system)
  2. Get the communication excellent (this is a balanced hormonal system),
  3. Get the nutrients in the cells (this is a balanced digestive system) and
  4. Get the toxins and waste products out from the cells (this is a balanced elimination system).
Then you can heal from any symptom, condition or disease. ANY of them!

Balance the Hormonal System Naturally.

Your hormonal system is what carries the nervous system information to the actual organs, glands, tissues and cells of the body. It is the brain/body communication.

This means the following:
  • Pituitary- master control of the hormonal system. It is a part of the critical HPA axis- Hypothalamus in the brain is the sensor or thermostat reading the internal environment. When is senses a change is necessary it sends messages to the pituitary which then send messages out to the rest of the hormonal glands.
  • Pineal- controls sleep and immune function.
  • Thyroid- this is your furnace of your metabolism that runs you. Low fire=low enzyme activity=low health and vitality.
  • Thymus-this is the heart of your immune system.
  • Pancreas- this is your digestion source and blood sugar control center.
  • Adrenals- this is where energy and immunity begin.
  • Female/Male hormones- energy and vitality but not artificially induced or else you will have to pay the price.
Hormones
  • Melatonin – balances your immune system and metabolism (to keep the fire burning so all enzymes and metabolic pathway perform to perfection) – this is all controlled by light and dark cycles.
  • Insulin control brain chemistry and dopamine and serotonin levels that in turn affect your behavior and mood.
  • When one goes out of balance they all go out of balance.
  • Melatonin affects the pituitary gland function.
  • Pituitary gland makes part or all of most of your hormones. When it is thrown out of balance it will affect your:
    • Thyroid - metabolism, energy.
    • Thymus - immune function.
    • Pancreas - blood sugar, appetite, immune function.
    • Adrenals - stress management, pain control, immune function.
    • Ovaries/testes - reproduction, anti-aging.
In the order of endocrine command, the hypothalamus is the body’s CEO, orchestrating the events of the rest of the endocrine system.

The hypothalamus also initiates part of the adrenal stress response, causing the pituitary to secrete the hormone that travels to the adrenal glands to stimulate secretion of cortisol,

Adrenal and other hormonal gland dysfunctions can cause some of the above symptoms and more, including cravings for sweets, weight gain, allergies, heart palpitations, insomnia, depression, fatigue, poor memory, foggy thinking, headaches, nervousness, inability to concentrate, recurrent infections and glucose intolerance.

One very damaging adrenal dysfunction is excessive cortisol production, which causes, among other serious problems, increased calcium mobilization from the bones, leading to osteoporosis, or loss of bone density. In a person with a healthy stress response, excessive levels of cortisol are automatically buffered. Constant stress destroys this feedback loop.

Hormonal imbalances compromise not only physical health but also psychological health, manifesting as problems ranging from depression to panic disorder

The Chain Reaction of One Gland Affecting all others

HYPOTHALAMUS- BRAIN/BODY SENSOR
  • Pituitary -makes most of the hormones or precursors of most of the hormones in the body. Pituitary imbalance causes thyroid imbalance or dysfunction.
  • Thyroid gland-causes the metabolism to slow and the body temperature will start to decrease. All enzymes for all cellular function that maintain your life are dependent on the 98.6 degrees F. As this decreases you decrease your immune system response, you decrease function of all other organs and glands, you gain weight, your bowels slow down, your thoughts become foggy, scattered, your memory fails.
  • Thymus gland-this is next in the endocrine connection. Decreased melatonin will affect a decrease in the immune function of the thymus causing either hyper (overactive) or hypo (underactive) immunity. T cells are the killer cells that get rid of bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungus and cancer cells.
  • Adrenal glands-secrete adrenaline to prepare you for action, to give you energy and to boost your immune system, prevent pain. Less dark sleep = sick, tired and in pain, dysfunctional and drained, dis-ease in the making.

The article mentions hormones: does this mean I can finally get rid of PMS ? My husband is a real idiot for a few days a month and there's not enough sweeties in the cupboard ... Will it fix my husband ?

@Enchantre I think the wires would be better for convenience as my chunky bits of silver look risky to clink into each other. (**boom** @240v)

Just a general question: what strains is everyone enjoying at the moment ? I'm waiting on some Medihaze. Has anyone tried this ? It's 1/1 THC/CBD.

LMAO!!!! Campers... you might want to post this in the Dear Dorkus thread.... I'm sure dorkus would have valid and insightful advice......and while I realize you can get that at any time, i know there are a few of us here how would enjoy his advice immensely. :lmao:

I'm vaping three wonderful strains right now; Headband, Death Star and Yum Boldt. Also have some nice wax. Haven't tried the Medihaze...... but would love to! :D

Hey everybody, the meds are starting to kick in. Not totally there yet but no mood swings for the last 24 hours.

Thank you all for your wonderful words to help get me through this.

Funny story, on Friday night during one of my rages I attempted to leave the house. Jess and I were battling (all my fault) and on the way down my stairs I lost my balance and fell. Jess picked up the phone to call 911 for an ambulance but I immediately yelled not too and that I would leave before they came.

She then hung up... Anyone know what happens when you dial 911 and hang up? So, 10 minutes later two cop cars pull up. They (a female sheriff and a male cop) came on in and wanted to see what was going on. After explaining the whole story one asked if he could just take a look around to make sure everything is ok.

At first I could feel the shit about to hit my pants and my heart started racing thinking about him seeing my so called office upstairs. Was I going to get arrested or worse, would they take my stuff? The cop comes back downstairs and says I see the room upstairs and I don't really give a shit about. He says you have a debilitating disease, your trying alternative medicine and quite frankly it'll be legal soon anyway. He also commended me for putting a key lock on the door preventing my kids from any accidents.

I was totally impressed with their kindness. So my goal for today is to do as little as possible. It's back to the doctor in the morning for a 72 hour revisit. I know I'm going to be ok, it's just annoying being a guinea pig.

When you say rages is your condition giving you ptsd? That happens to me sometime, and while the attacks are over quickly, they debilitate me for days on end after that. Orthopedic/tension, digestive, headaches, mental fog, depression etc. all come over to get in on the fun after the anger breaks me down. The last time it happened I actually remembered to take a breath, to try at least to focus on my breathing. It didn't work because I gave up too quickly, but it was progress that I could even remember to try.

Anyways,
that's the first thing I've ever read about florida enforcement/legislation/politics that's not fucking horrible!
So congrats, you won today :rockon:

Fuck, had to take my dad's friend (the one with cancer living with us) to the ER because he wasn't feeling well, his blood pressure was really really low and he was in a huge amount of pain. He's there now, made me leave to come back and take care of some obligations here at home that have to be taken care of, he stabilized and was taken to get a scan when he told me to get out. I'm waiting on my pops to see what's going to happen next.

Also one of our goats gave birth to some babies the other night, unfortunately one of them has problems walking and might be blind, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. Usually if they can't walk normally within the first hour or two they're basically screwed, so not very high hopes.

Stress levels = :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Where to start????

First and foremost, I feel sorry for the goat! Nobody should be broken fresh out of the starting gate! Nobody!

Quetzalcoatl, Best wishes for your friend! Hoping it's low sugar and a Snickers bar the needed cure!

Mom, it's SALAD Time! (referencing Headband, Death Star and Yum Boldt.) Yum! Also thinking of a nice couple drops of "oil" as most salads do require a bit of dressing!

mvapes, oops, I read that you were "pulling the goat". That lead to other thoughts, grossing myself out, and considering donating to a charity for goats! ;) Then reread.... phew! But still considering that charity donation!

Stu, any chance we were sharing similar thoughts? ;)

And lastly, that poor kid in the red jacket is either going to grow up as the most popular guy in High School, taking notes from mvapes time in High School of course, or suffer from Globophobia one day....:freak:

His blood pressure was fucked low, like they almost coded him on the spot as soon as they saw it in triage. He's fine now, back home with some stronger painkillers than what he's taking and under orders to go back immediately if he gets worse. Reading his scan results was ridiculous, I understand now just how bad his cancer is. I dunno, him telling me is one thing, seeing it documented by doctors with their doctor language (which I mostly understand) just put it in a different light. He got discharged because they couldn't find anything actually wrong with him outside of the cancer/pain he had. He had an appt to see his c-doc today but was in ER instead, he has another appt scheduled tomorrow with him so we'll see where it goes.

Status of goat unknown.

Totally getting into getting up, making breakfast, getting hubby off to work, then chilling and doing odd chores before I get myself off to work - fabulously, he and I have to walk the almost exact same distance (slightly different directions) to work!

I'm really getting into a new Pandora station I'm making... all Beatles. :)

It's official - every person in my house has strep throat! All 3 kids home. The good news is they won't stop fighting or screaming, guess no nap for me!

@Quetzalcoatl - I prayed for your grandfather and goat last night. I know it's hard to be the hero when have issues of your own that your battling with but I'd say your doing the hero part quite well.

My thoughts and white light is focused on you and your family.

I went to my pre-surgery appointment this morning. Everything is a go! I asked if he could show me the hardware, but he didn't have it there. He did tell me all the hardware is titanium, and the plate is very thin. I will also need some bone grafting done, but he said he is going to try and use artificial bone graft. If I wake up with my hip in terrible pain, I'll know they had to get some from there, and I'll be laid up even longer. Hopefully that won't happen, though.

Here is what it will look similar to after my surgery is done:

@Vicki Ti . . . awesome  I just got the go ahead from my oral surgeon on my bone implant to head back to the dentist for a mold for the new crown. I'll try to get a copy of my x-ray I saw the other day that shows it in my skull . . .

Some days its all I can do to poke my head up, take a hit, and slide back under the covers . . .
