Strawberry Rhubarb pie with old-fashioned vanilla ice cream on top and sprinkled with cayenne pepper. I'm really starting to like spice with my sweets sometimes these days (I like to sprinkle cayenne pepper on my watermelon). And a double-chocolate milk stout beer to wash it down
This is excellent.
Though I'll do it again with fresh mazafti instead of deglet nour.
A few tips :
- you want a very aromatic pepper. Madagascar wild pepper is perfect.
- don't be shy on the salt. You need it to balance all this sweetness.
- lavender honey is perhaps a little too strong. Something more neutral should be better.
