Couple pics of ABV. First was a full bowl of biesel with a big glob if wax in the middle. Second was a half bowl of some grape ape.

Looks like lots of life left, unless that's how you like your ABV otherwise- Vape on!!
Darkness doesn't indicate how much life is left in ABV when using a convection vaporizer in my experience.

I could get it darker for sure but I wouldn't benefit in anyway from it other than maybe getting a nice lung workout.

The Crafty produces some of the lightest ABV I've ever seen but I can put it in my EVO/Cloud/SSV on max and will get nothing more than a gross wispy cloud.

While there is some truth to that.....In your experience- which is.......? It must be your strain or you like vaping low temps. I have 6 convection vapes and IME, AVB is darker than that even when not taking it up all the way. Talking about 6 different meds too.

Almost there...
Received a FW V3 in a trade and it is a neat vaporizer!
The draw sense technology heater seems to work well once you get the hang of it and draw speed.
Still tastes a bit woody and flavor diminishes quite quickly on temp #3.
The first few hits are full of flavour and decent clouds!
The unit gets a bit warm during use but not too hot as to burn or be too uncomfortable.

I am 3 vials in and the battery indicator still buzzes 3 times, so pretty good battery life so far!
Herb was completely spent on the last ;oad and came out a nice even brown.
Some odd after taste is going on, kind of woody. Hope it goes away after a few sessions!

Going to have to comb the thread for ideas on connecting to a WT!

I'm in the process of placing an order. What did you ask for when you ordered this from Ed?
And how do I delete the previous post? Modnote: previous post deleted

wooden stem from eds tnt
fits in about an inch and locks up
longer vapor path so its a bit cooler
nice flavor from the wood.

You can still see white-ish trichomes everywhere, there is still a lot of highness there... But if that's how you like it, good!

Glad to hear you're liking the beast. There is an earlier post describing how to raise the overall temperature range...just thought I would point you in that direction.

Anyway, you asked about connecting it to a water tool. The mouthpiece makes a snug fit into a 14mm water tool.

Unfortunately those stems aren't for the current version, if Ed could make one for the V3 I'm all over it too.
Just because the device itself is wood, I would prefer a glass piece over wood just IMO. But since you brought it up there are two ways I see Ed being able to accomplish this. One is creating a wood piece that slides over the current glass mouthpiece or the second is, he would have to replace the mouthpiece part only with wood and still utilize the glass capsule. I am sure he could come up with something but I am not sure the FW3 needs more wood flavoring.

What is it at the top that you put the firewood on? I have a bottle rocket but not sure what you're using to attach with.
It appears to be an MFLB glass or plastic straw or rather the plastic end of an MFLB whip. They are all the same diameter.

Is Ed going to be doing a stem for the Firewood?

To me, and I don't have v3 but I've watched the video, it's the glass capsule that is the biggest issue. The mouthpiece stem works fine the capsule screens could be better. Matter gets through the bottom of the capsule no matter what as well as up into the top part of the capsule away from the heater. Plus, at least to me, the dual screens make it look kludgy. Not necessarily a bad thing but it would be nice to maybe have one piece and something like a screen basket in the capsule or a screen basket (ezb type) that sits in place of the capsule.

Only if someone decides to request one as a custom project. Ed's custom projects are pretty cheaply priced IMO when considering the labor some of his pieces require and the quality he ensures.

I had a problem with the capsule screens up front but I honestly can't think of a better way to do the mouthpiece. I was able to slide a 14mm male to male glass attachment in mine to give it more of a Zion style mouthpiece with no bottom screen, however I did not find results were quite as good. The thickness of the glass capsule is just perfect for an even roasting. With the thicker glass I was getting a darker roast at the bottom and barely getting roast to the top...plus I had no screen in the bottom so I had to be careful not to knock any herbs out of the mouthpiece or it would land on the coil and combust which is completely unacceptable. Mark has years into the design of the mouthpiece, including that little lip in the capsule that provides the slightest turbulence which gives us that almost perfectly even roasting.

Did I mess up by buying these batteries to use with the battery bank for my firewood 3?:

No but batteries normally rated that high (of mAh) don't end up being that high.

Either way as long you aren't putting them in your Firewood you should be good, I noticed all my batteries were too snug for me to feel comfortable forcing them into my Firewood.

I already had to send a Firewood back because the batteries were stuck.

So these batteries would be the correct voltage and amperage for the firewood if I used them through the battery pack?

Yes, the capsule screens however after typing out my post I was digging around and found a much wider more flexible screen and that works better for me. . Probably 1.5x the regular capsule screen in size and it went in well and seems to be sitting more securely, especially if I went to stir a bit.

@Ed's TnT doesn't need to make a custom stem because i found out last night that his nano stems fit the fw3 absolutely perfectly.

I received my cocbolo nano stem but thought I'd try it with the firewood first. The steel part of the stem is almost exactly the same length as the glass mouthpiece, so simply roll back the silicon and remove the glass mouthpiece, put the o-ring over nano stem, roll silicone back up over stem and o-ring and you have a long stem ready to go.

This now allowed a very smooth hit even on level 4 (which i found quite harsh with the standard stem)

I haven't tried this extra step yet, but i assume you could also remove the ss mesh screen between the capsule and stem and load a really large amount (loosely packed otherwise it will be too restricted) because Ed's stem already has a screen in it.

So, some have likened the fw3 to the nano. With Ed's nano stem, it's a step closer. Very smooth, and very very stylish.

Just from these images it APPEARS your material may be too moist... perhaps try drying it out for ten to fifteen minutes before using it?
I've got some kinda moist stuff right now and I experience similar problems, but I find that roasting it s bit on 1 gets most of the water out and then bumping it up to 3 after the water is out produces very good results with cannabis that ought to have dried a bit more before it found its way to the stem. I'm visiting family right now and they tolerate using a vape outside but even the smell from grinding and loading causes family members to complain about the smell so I can't really adequately dry my meds for ideal vaping. The meds are properly cured and would be excellent for someone who combusted, but need a lil bit more time in open air for vaping. But a bit of time on 1 gets a tiny bit of the flavor out and most of the water out the way I do it. Which is with relatively quicker draws so the herb is still being heated but not so hot that much of anything other than water is vaporizing. I find with what I've got right now I don't even lose that much flavor and get quite a few hits out of a pinch on 3 with plenty of flavor for some and then just a little flavor toward the end and then I stop just before burnt popcorn taste might occur and it's an overall very pleasant ritual to use the vape to dry out the material a bit first.

Well well, how bout this, I had no idea! This particular stem appears to be even more versatile than I had imagined. I knew that others were using it for the Nano, UD, & HI, wow how cool is this to find out also! Nice discovery bro, am really happy to hear you will be enjoying that stem for more than just one vape. You mentioned how nice it looked and now with its ability to do so much more guess its a real winner! Thanks for letting me know!
