hi everybody, got a question, is it possible to charge the firewood between uses? i did not find anithing about that in the notice or here on the thread ( except i missed those lines...reading vap'ed) ..... i just read in the notice to drain and fully charge the first two times...so maybe it does not affect the battery if afterwords one is charging between uses to keep the battery full..but that could also be realy wrong to do...i did not try, because i'm afraid of killing the batt's.... ;-)

Marc I gotta say that I do not like the addition of the fill tool on the lid. Since they are pretty cheap to replace I bored the fill tool hole a little bigger and using a piece of silicon tubing I use as a bite/lip burn gaurd I inserted it into the fill tool hole and removed the gasketed end... The mothpiece stays attached much better that way. I only thought to do this after talkn to vaporeyes... He mentioned that the old style mouthpiece stayed in place better and didnt flop about...

Getting to my rambling point... You should offer the trimmed down original style mouthpiece as an option for new buyers... Or even just as a replacement sold as the "slim" version...

Outside of the mouthpiece... I really love this vape. I hung up the wychwood as a backup, only cause this fits my flower needs... I call it my,flowerbox lol
Yep, as that link says, you can charge whenever.

I have been making a few tweaks to make that mouthpiece hold tighter - basically a slightly stronger magnet and thinner wood on the mouthpiece to make the magnet closer. They are good enough for me but I understand everybody has different needs.

I'm not sure I understand exactly how you are using yours now. Are you saying you use the bored out funnel hole as your draw hole?
I could make the old mouthpieces available but I'd rather try and get the new ones to hold on place just to keep things simpler.

I'm on a super limited meds budget of $120 for at least the next month (unless I can find more garage sale fodder), and yet I'm still considering buying a Firewood right now! I recently sold my Pax due to the fact that I just wasn't using it a lot because my Solo and O-PHOS seemingly filled my portable needs. However, now that I don't have a stealthy portable flower vape, I'm feeling a definite void (I love the Solo, but stealthy it is not...and carrying a large cup with straw around doesn't count as stealthy for me).

The biggest turn-offs for me with the Pax were the large oven size combined with the fact that a second session with the same oven almost always tasted like crap, as well as the cleaning and maintenance requirements. The Firewood seems like it wouldn't have those same drawbacks, and I love the look of it. When I was combusting I often carried a wooden dugout with me for convenience sake...so this unit seems immediately familiar in all the right ways.

The ONLY thing holding me back is the fact that I really don't want to get into the same situation I was in with the Pax...the proud owner of a unit that I love in many ways, but that just isn't practical for my needs. If I get one of these, it will be the only flower portable I take with me out of the house, whether that's on a road trip, to a friend's house, a concert, etc. I have a pretty high tolerance so I definitely want something that can get me fairly well medicated with a session or two. It has been a little hard to judge from the comments on here...do those of you with higher tolerances feel like the Firewood delivers?

I just don't want to get one and decide that I really need ANOTHER portable for when I want to get really medicated on the road... What do you guys think?

It takes longer than other vapes ive owned "MFLB, T1" But it delivers very nice, good size glass stem for loading, I'd say almost 2x the size of MFLB's trench. I've got a high tolerance and one full load gets me quite medicated.

Basically yea, I am using the fill hole as a draw hole... I trimmed the old draw hole off so as to make it smaller. I figured since u sell replacements if I totally botched it I could replace it. However It is working great for me, but I dont use the fill tool anyway... I made more mess trying to use it. Such a clutz!

As far as a road trip vape, I took mine out after putting new tires on the car. 1 word to describe the stealth and user ease.

Effortless!

So it has been about a week since I got my firewood, and I have had 12 full sessions with a charged battery. I am really impressed with how much this vape can be pushed, and it is very simple to use.

Taste is amazing! Very simple and pure, it is nice to have a glass mouthpiece, and functionality is ergonomical and the trigger butter is easy to press.

I definitely burnt my first few loads because I was following the directions too closely and using smaller loads, and since this was a newly charged vape, it was ready to rock hot!! I got the hang of how the hits should be by about the 10th load...

The greens cooked evenly and mostly all bowls were dark brown to having some black, but I am getting better at adjusting the temperature now.

I don't agree with the directions guide for holding the trigger for so long, but I would advise to go on the taste and feel of the vapor. This vape is very much like driving a manual car. You have total control over your vapor. I only use the trigger until I am up to a good temp, take my hit, and then let off when it gets too hot or out of control.

Construction is sturdy, with it being about 95% flawless, only very small defect markings in some of the wood.

The way I knew the battery died out was when I pressed the trigger and both LEDs started to dim down.

The battery does take a little learning curve because you must hold the trigger for longer once you take more hits as the battery becomes weaker. This happened around hit number 8 or 9 before finally dying off at hit 12.

Cleaning has been easy and after about 11 hits I did a small swab of the inner chamber with a q-tip and a dab of water, and I iso cleaned the stem and just picked at the metal coil.

Overall, I am very pleased so far with the unfinished firewood! I am liking it more than the MFLB in terms of the way that it is powered and how it works overall. I was never a huge fan of the batteries or having to charge them all the time. The firewood is a lot larger and heavier, but is a breeze to use and is great to go so long on a single charge. Only time will tell though how long this vape will last in the future with charging and regular use.

Thanks for making this wonderful vape, and I am excited to see what upgrades and new models come out in the future. :) I will keep you guys updated more after some further tests!!

Now that people have had their Firewoods for a little while, I'm curious to hear follow-up thoughts. Is everyone still enjoying them? How often do you find yourself reaching for the Firewood? Is it a daily driver or more of a novelty? Any critiques?

I know that my opinion about a vape can evolve with time, so I assume it's the same for others.

I still drive my daily  its my dry portable... if i need a sesh at some point out... its with me. I use it around the house daily too. when i wanna sesh away from my "area". It has gotten easier and easier to use. no timers or auto shut offs to fight with. plus there is something about wood vapes that draw me to them, but since i got my firewood i haven't been looking for a new vape at all.

LOVE IT LOVE IT BUY IT BUY IT! :smug: im gonna go vape

hi Meghan, also got to say i am enjoying this great vape everyday, (+ the solo), but more than once a day, i take the firewood out of my pocket, the taste is amazing and it made me totally forget to watch the thread about this 'other new hitech portable' where everybody hangs around for the moment... ;-) .... also: thank you again firewood for making this great machine :-)

At the moment the firewood is my only vape, but it makes a great daily driver! I have used it daily for about 2 weeks now and I am very impressed. The only downside I have found is the small fill hole, and also the metal coil spring will allow small particles to reach the tongue/mouth. There is a mesh screen included though so you can try it and see how it works for you, but for me it restricted the airflow a bit too much.

I love the power of the firewood vape. It can really put out good high temps and provide some very tasty vapor. It is an awesome portable, while still maintaining stealth and discreetness in use. I was drawn to the firewood because of it's materials. I have always had a place in my heart for wooden looking vapes. This one fits the bill and performs solid all around :)

I would definitely not recommend this as someones first vaporizer, but to each their own. It took me a solid week to get the technique down and learn how it hearts up and what temperatures worked well for me. It is easily comparable to a manual sports car in the fact that you can take it as slow or as fast as you would like :). All I am trying to say is that it may take some patience for you to tame your firewood, but it is well worth the wait and experimentation ;) I sure enjoyed it!

My 2 daily drivers are the MFLB and the Firewood. If i just need a quick hit to top things off i reach for the MFLB, but if i got say 3-5 minutes its the Firewood everytime. Great flavor and thorough extraction it seems to give a more uplifting high aswell compaired to my MFLB but i just may be a bit crazy?

No your pretty much on the money there - the firewood is a convection vape wheras the MFLB is a conduction vape. The two vapors have pretty different effects, and conduction always makes me tired.

Would it be because of 2 different temperatures??

So this came in yesterday and I gave it a whirl with my friends last night for 3 trenches. These are just my immediate thoughts and I'll give a more comprehensive review after I solo it tonight during the NBA finals.

I have owned; MFLB, MFLB w/ new batteries, Inhalater XP, and the PAX. This unit has been def. the most unique out of all of those devices I owned.

The small trench size is great for conservation reasons. I got pretty blasted on my tench with pretty big clouds. I think I am just overcooking it though, or holding the trigger too long during my sessions. My reason for thinking that is because the sessions go by really quickly. The AVB is uniformly browned and that's good, but I was hoping I got a chance to chill out and enjoy a session.

The smaller load proved problematic for group sessions. Considering how (relative) big it is to the other tiny portables, I was hoping the trench would be a bit bigger to sustain a group. This could also be a part of poor technique and I'm just cooking it far too quickly to have it being passed around in a group.

If that's the case, then it will have a similar issue to my MFLBs. I love that device, but other people cannot understand how to use it. This is why the PAX and Inh XP were so good. I turned it on and passed it along, this particular vape seems good as a daily solo driver instead.

Cannot beat the price and the vape cloud production it produces! Obviously the flavor was really clean and I really enjoy the unique aesthetics of the device.

Is there an area we should avoid customizing because:
a: it will be lost with repair
b: that area is very thin or contains sensitive something or another

Its very cool youll honor even after customizing the body.

No, but of course any parts that might need to be replaced via warranty would lose any custom branding on them.

Saw this on Reddit and it looks interesting. I'm not sure how it works since the website is kind of vague. However, the specs include nichrome wire so I'm guessing it's convection based. It's being sold through Etsy so it's probably just someone's hobby. Priced at $100.

Thanks for posting this. I know a lot of people who are interested in a better portable vaping device for buds. I will certainly share this with those patients.

Any customizable parts could be lost with repair, including the main body. However, the main body is the least likely part to be replaced. The wooden panels on the top, side, and bottom would almost certainly be replaced.

The thinnest part is the veneer on the top of the unit, so you might want to avoid that. The rest of the wooden parts should be thick enough to brand.

Basically my policy is that if customizations affect the inner workings, then the warranty will be voided. Anything on the surface should be fine, while any deep sanding and/or shaping, screws, or anything else that isn't right on the surface would likely void the warranty.
