Firewood Vaporizer

Has anyone bought Firewood from Europe? Guys, how do I complete this quest?
Tried to buy the FW9 last year- without success. Could not finalize the transaction from Germany. Bought a used one fro a guy from Denmark. He had no problems.
I later found out that it's just the device, as I could easily order stems and stuff after some months.
Some guys on reddit had an order going thru using a debit credit card.

I bought a firewood9 recently, I'm from the Czech Republic and although I had a problem paying on the website, I don't remember what it was, I managed to do it somehow. I think it didn't want to accept the card, but as I said, it somehow worked in the end, and there was no need for any extraordinary solutions.
Of course, I also had to pay customs duty here, which is not very pleasant.....

ha, I know,
the problem was with the accents in the name on the debit card...
either he didn't like the brackets and commas or vice versa.

Try hard noob
I read further up this thread that prepaid credit cards worked well on that site. There are no distributers afaik. The only other option would be to go second hand, I got mine from the classies here.

If I were him I would look at getting the international card payment issues sorted. Seems he's lost a couple of grand's worth of sales, on this thread alone.

Is the temperature and power lost when using the capsule version in firewood? After all, the capsule is an additional layer of ceramic and additional power is required to warm it up?

No, it's not that kind of capsule, there's always a capsule as it's not exactly a capsule, it's just removable ceramic chamber ... So you can have more to use them like capsules, but you're removing the entire oven essentially, it sits within the naked heating element, bowl version seals up, capsule version lets them sit loose... (also you can still open up the bowl version to fully clean the ceramic chamber, that's an aspect that makes it a nice evolution from the FW7 even if it is a bit more involved)

Thank you for the clear explanation!

Is the capsule system different in Firewood-7?

Also, what do you think is the "preheating" of the incoming air by means of a bowl in the firewood - how effective is this heating? I am interested in the length of the path of the heated air and how it heats up. You see, I am an engineer and I approach the choice of a device purely from the technical side, and there is very little information about firewood.. for example. In vestratto, you can clearly see how the incoming air heats up and it is clear why the device hits so hard. On the other hand, I've come across conductive devices that work ugly. The air comes in from the street cold... High-quality heating of the incoming air into a conductive furnace is the secret to increasing efficiency for conductive vapes.

FW7 has no capsule system...

I think it is pretty minimal, naturally you're drawing air through the coil so that would be some convection heating and preheating would help, but mostly it's heating up the ceramic by conduction for me at least

and what do you think - does a ceramic oven in a conductive, on-demand-only device make sense? After all, ceramics will cool down longer.. when I finished using it, the oven is still extracting the flower. Isn't it?

I wonder why the manufacturer chose ceramics, what is its advantage compared to a metal oven that heats up quickly and cools down quickly.

Yes? I don't know what to tell you lol it works well I think ceramic is good and on-demand conduction is special, just need to learn the device and get the timing down for yourself

Sorry I have been so absent ☹️

A couple updates:
First, I'm pleased to announce a price reduction on Firewood 9! Over the past few months I have made some significant manufacturing improvements and have managed to get some of the more difficult parts mass produced externally. This has allowed me to lower costs and increase production. As a result I'm lowering the price of a Firewood 9 to $265 for either the bowl or capsule option (was $315 for bowl option, $320 for capsule option)

Second, some people have also asked about a Firewood 10. Since the founding of Firewood I have done a new product release just about once a year. Well Firewood 9 has been out for over a year now and I have barely even started the Firewood 10 design, so it will definitely be over a year for this one. Best case I would release something in six months, probably more like a year from now. My goal is to make something truly revolutionary compared to anything available. Much faster, smaller, more efficient. However I'm not 100% sure if my new idea will work. Prototype oven is in the works, we'll see....
Well, this is what firewood said back 7 or 8 months ago...

I checked it out..The Firewood website requires you to upload a document with a photo , in which the address must match the address indicated for the delivery

I haven't bought a Firewood since the 7. What kind of document is needed here? Because I'm fairly against uploading my Driver's License online literally anywhere.

is this thing on?

Why is it even necessary?

It's not needed. It's just the same age check as every vape website. I have never uploaded a picture of my driver's license to any site. It just ask for that when something is sketchy, typically a bad address, etc.

Ok my bad, thanks. I don't know what those age checks do exactly. All of them seem to go through without me adding any info.

On January 25, Mark replied to my email about Firewood-10 :"I am hoping to start selling within a couple weeks, but no guarantees"

I already answered you above - I have everything in order with addresses, with a credit card, but they require me to upload documents with a US ID)) Do not underestimate the obvious problem.

I just placed my order for a new Firewood X! I got in on the initial batch that is currently available at a $65 discount! Unfortunately, the initial shipment will not include the herb storage container or lid, but is operable without those. I was further advised these items would ship once ready. I also was given some more information regarding the new unit. I will paste as is from my email notification.

One of the new features will be internal herb storage, however I am still waiting on 2 parts for that. The batch I am selling now will ship without those 2 parts for now (a base and lid for the storage compartment). I will ship those separately as soon as I get them (should be within a few weeks). The device will still be functional without the herb storage and those parts can be easily added when you get them.

Other than the herb storage this is more similar to a fw7 than a fw9. The oven and lid is a lot like fw7, but with a tiny bit more power, a slight taper at the bottom of the bowl to make it easier to empty it, and a window in the lid so you can see the progress as your herbs cook.

The size is a little smaller overall than the fw7 or 9. It is about 5/8 inch shorter, about 1/8 inch taller and a tiny bit thicker. It should be more durable than either.

The new mouthpiece connection allows connecting to most standard stems that are no more than 1/2" diameter. An adapter tube is no longer needed.

I did away with a retractable mouthpiece because I found the sliding connection to be too sticky at times and too loose at times. The current mouthpiece sticks out about 0.7 inches, which may seem like a lot but I have found it is still easily pocketable and is just nicer having it not slide around. I may do a batch of shorter mouthpieces if people seem interested, but they would only be a tiny bit shorter.

Other changes are that it should now charge using any usbc cable (only worked with usba-usbc before) and has a larger button.

You beat me by 3mins! I should've ordered before I replied to Marc!

Edit: bit nervous with no other promo images, but that's only cos I'm worried about ergonomics and if the herb storage will be fiddly etc. I will have 0 complaints with performance, that much I know to be true.
