My only answer is yes, you can get massive big satisfied hits. I think they are more robust and richer than my Fury Edge and even my Dynavap M. Cooler and smoother as well. I don't even temp step anymore, set to 360°F. 103 % and leave it there. You will find what temp you like. I find that I like the 20 second deep inhales and the effects are like bong hits.

Hi im deciding on buying a firefly 2 plus figured I should ask my questions here where ppl actually have used them.

What attracted me was the flavor that everyone talks about and that it's on demand.

I guess my only question is with a nice long draw can I get satisfying clouds? That's my one worry everyone that has reviewed it has said the hits aren't as cloudy so I have held off.
There is good chamce they are not hitting it right also.
I think the best way to answer this is with a vid…

Yes. It does rip. Take nice long draws and you will get clouds.

I only vape whole nugs in my ff2+ and have never had my holes get clogged.
I've have also been trying to avoid putting smaller pieces in the bowl. Seems like it would be hard to get the inside of the nug to vaporize. Isn't there a lot of waste if one doesn't break them up a bit to finish with them?

The nug slowly disintegrates as you flip it over. Just not starting it as ground material helps a lot.

I had my FF2 refurbished for the $30 deal. One of the main things they promised to do was to enlarge the holes in the bottom of the bowl to increase the draw by 30% or something. I did notice a difference; but it still seems like the key is to keep the holes unclogged. FF sent me a tiny needle meant to clear out the bowl holes. It's now bent because it barely fits in the holes. It is so tedious it drives me nuts. One time I did all of the holes with great effort and time. It DID seem to work much better after that. Does anyone here know something that works better or know an easier way (like a sewing needle size or tool) that can be used? I also use alcohol pads on the bowl, being careful not to get any alcohol down through the holes. I know that the vapor doesn't go through the holes but the air has to come in that way.
Here is the complete disassembly/reassembly of the ff2, hope that helps 😁 for a deep cleaning

Hey. Does anyone know if Firefly still offers the $30 upgrade from a FF2 to a FF2+? Can't seems to find it anywhere on their website and their customer service rep on chat seemed confused about it.

Im not 100% positive but im pretty sure the only difference betwween the 2 and the 2+is the design of the lid, so I believe the $30 updgrade is just the cost of the new lid.

Cool, thanks.

Tbh I haven't looked at this upgrade option for a couple of years. Originally I thought there was a software upgrade plus larger holes in the permanent screen? Things definitely could have changed by now though. "Chat" definitely didn't have a clue.

Where did he get that fantasy description of how a Fury works?

"Convection air technology shoots up air--it pushes air up, hot air. The walls do not heat up."

I don't own a Fury, but I'm pretty sure the oven does heat up. I'm just as sure (which is not entirely, but mostly) it doesn't "shoot up air"; there's no Volcano-style fan in a Fury.

Damn still miss my OG Firefly, far from perfect, but something special... Was not so impressed with the 2, but still wanted to try the FF2+ especially in a blue color if it could be had at a more reasonable price... Today on Reddit someone posted one brand new in box for $125 since its been sitting in a closet for a year and a half (because they had bought another one at the time), could not resist given the price, color, and new quality, even though I've no need and the FF3 could be right around the corner?! :o:brow::mental:

Funny, I’d been thinking about digging mine out, charging it up and giving it another try…

Oh are you putting that on top? So you can turn it sideways I guess? I never liked to do that, I like to keep it level, like my FW7 and other vapes (even how I used haze square)

PXL-20220311-004517693.jpg

Mine already arrived, I'm in my second bowl, using BCG coarse grind, not having any problem with herbs not staying in the bowl even after stirring, but forgot how annoying stirring is here! Will have to try a whole nugs again soon, that was a great way to do the original, whole nug that fits the bowl, take two hits then flip it, another two then take it out and break it up for a few more... Because I am also pretty disappointed with how uneven the extraction is, I know it's tough when the herb is not entirely consistent grind, but I thought at 300f I would have gotten a much nicer extraction (you can see it above after several hits and a few stirs, fairly thorough and not too bad, but not even at all and those dark spots totally spoiled the taste, at such a low temp) So now I am realizing I need to start lower, this current bowl is at 250f and tomorrow morning I am going to start as low as it will go! Temperature is always relative for each specific vape, and I see there are additional settings for calibration by % to further affect the heating, so I will have to play with that at some point I suppose? Leaving it at 100 for now and just trying to focus on temp setting... I wish the app showed a percentage for battery life, but so far alright, I'll get a sense of how many bowls I can get, and it will be systematic from there... I really have no desire to try concentrates in this, so I will just be riding low temp settings to wake and bake with it mostly

Would be cool to try to rig up some kind of adapter to keep it level and connect to other glass pieces I have, like a right angle adapter which I do have, but I don't know how to get it to connect into the FF... Speaking of, what a weak point this mouthpiece is, how are we even supposed to clean the plastic?? Very fiddly little piece and especially that screen, should have been improved from the FF2... The bowl is much nicer though, smooth with no screen, just tiny holes to keep it cleaner, although I already have a tiny microscopic spec stuck in little crevice where the glass bowl meets the body, would be so awesome if the bowl was removable and fully cleanable! FF3 wishlist lol

The glass surface for the vapor path in the body and the lid is nice and sleek though, we'll be easy to keep clean, nice smooth hits and taste with the low temps at least... And yeah the way the lid is designed, it seems like the glass is smoother because the whole lid is glass, one piece instead of just the little window of the original, but it also seems to be a little flatter lower to the bowl than the original? Without a crumb getting stuck to the lid though, I don't know it's early obviously but I just feel like I was impressed there were no crumbs sticking anywhere outside of the bowl, it was all still in the bowl even after stirring a few times! Okay I am opening the bowl now to stir for the first time and I see a couple specs in the glass viewing window now this time lol getting a little oil coating I suppose... The tough part is emptying the bowl unfortunately and cleaning out all those little specks, extremely tedious despite the fewer seams, especially as it gets stickier. Loading is easy though!

It looks beautiful though, I love the blue color with the silver, lightweight though it doesn't feel as fancy high quality of a device as the original as a result? Feels cheaper, but the glass definitely looks very nice and the outer build too is a nice style... I'm not sure how ergonomic the form factor really is, need to get used to it again, but this is part of why I wanted it, I liked the idea of this form factor again. The charging dock seems nice, a little silly though to finally offer USB, yet require a proprietary charging dock lol The first charge took quite a while to stop flashing even though the app said it was charged fully and it was well over 45 minutes but eventually it did, I'm sure it will charge quick going forward and easy to just rest on the dock.

Yeah I just need to get my groove back here, riding the low temps is definitely going to be the way to go for me, another big part of why I was excited for this (my original FF was set a little lower more like 380 and my first replacement was set more like 400 which was the standard quality control though I always missed the original lower temp I had so I always wanted to be able to adjust temp and set it as low as possible, though I really appreciate the simple value of having one coverall temp generally) Glad I got it for the price I paid, I do think the price is a bit too high for one brand new from them, perhaps there will be a good 420 sale soon, and yeah I feel like the FF3 is not too far away!

I have the FF2+ and unfortunately don't use it. The only advantages compared to my other vapes are: very good looking, no smell, small and portable. The disadvantages are: low vapor production, restricted vapor path, need for stir, difficult to clean as ISO must not touch rubbers, bad battery, airway holes of the filling chamber get clogged, awkward loading directly to main unit and very low VFM compared to competition.

You forgot the lack of app control with iOS.

What do you mean? I have no issue using an ISO soaked q-tip to clean the silicone in the lid... And all the glass, the mouthpiece is the only part I'm not sure about what to do?

awkward loading directly to main unit and very low VFM compared to competition.

Also I actually find the loading (with a scoop) super simple and convenient, it is the unloading that fucking sucks lol I mean it's easy to dump right away when you finish, but yeah crumbs will stick, and if you don't dump right away it's going to be even tougher...

Can you tell me what VFM is though?? Cannot figure out, is the first word value? or vape lol I can get good vapor at least...

Yeah this is one definitely not for everyone and not super practical in general, especially compared to the competition, it is a classic technique driven (limited) power portable.

Edit: had another bowl this morning, tried to milk 200f but couldn't get much then some very interesting flavor, went up to 220 then 240, 270, and 290, several hits, but it really did take a stir to be able to continue extracting... More is sticking to the lid again now that it is getting stickier, so yeah just like before really. You can sort of see in the photo below, decent enough extraction but not full, deep, because of the low temps with course grind? We'll see while nugs later on (battery life seems like five bowls?)
PXL-20220311-212149221.jpg

Yeah once the flavor is gone it really is not pleasant vapor quality, despite more clouds, may have to play more with the calibration and upper temp levels, but already being reminded why I moved on from this one with so many better options now available in this category (portable on demand pure convection with temp control)

Hi Shit Snacks,

1. I used to clean the lead with ISO too. After some time and in order to upgrade my FF2+ I ordered new battery and new lid. Comparing the two lids, I then understood that the ISO is damaging the glue and the rubber on the new lid was properly fitted without any rubber parts that can be lifted from the glass lid. A member here advised me to use only soap with warm water for cleaning the lid.

2. Regarding loading/unloading: still you have to carry in your bag a container with herb, a scoop, something to unload/clean, making the whole process awkward for public, instead of just carry a vaporizer and load with capsules for example.

3. VFM (value for money) I didn't want to underestimate the FF but with the same value vaporizer and same quantity of herb, you can get better extraction and way more reach vapor with other devices.

Another point, if you use a fine grind and stir after 3 draws you may experience kief passing via MP in your mouth. The herb in the loading chamber must be the right quantity, if you load a fine grind and after the stir the herb does not fill the entire loading chamber, then it's gonna move around the vapor path towards the MP.

So a fresh fine grind can fully fill the loading chamber but after been vaped (and stir) it may lose its volume and start moving towards the MP

Thanks @condition! That is really upsetting to hear about the lid, not sure what to do lol soap and water is not enough or as simple in my experience

Oh, yeah, I mean I would never want to bring this out in a bag like that, but anyway I have not done that in years at this point so I can't imagine it anymore lol The idea of just carrying around a vaporizer and weed, I remember I used to do it it was a whole thing haha

Yeah exactly, the current retail price for one new is definitely not a good value I would agree! I'm glad I was able to get one at a low price, to try again, I'll continue playing with it, we'll see if I keep it though...

Dear FF community,
i am using the FF2+ for a long time now and am still impressed with the device and its performance. I just have a question regarding usage: while inhaling I release the buttons in the moment when I start to feel the vapor. I have the strong sensation that the potency is much stronger if I keep inhaling from the device until my lungs are full. It feels like a lot of vapor is still being produced as the device starts to cool down in the moment that i release the buttons. Do you guys have the same impression?
