FakeXhale Cloud (Unauthorized and Unsupported)

i actually did try something but it did not work. i loaded up my buddha wand with flowers, then i placed a screen into the wand covering the load so that it wouldn't fall out when inverted. i then powered up the cloud and waited 15 or 20 min for it to heat up. i then put the buddha wand on the cloud joint where the ELB would go and tried hitting it. i got nothing. so i hope that is not a sign my cloud does not work?? my cloud does heat up as the "HOT" plate does get warm. not so hot that i can't touch it, but then again, i never put the dial past 1:00 so maybe that is not hot enough to get the "hot" plate too hot to touch it
You're unit sounds like it's working. That being said, I'd be willing to be you need to get up around 2/3pm or higher for that method to work. Something about taking the flower out of the glass joint, seems to greatly reduce efficiency. Make a different bowl that will go in the joint, seems to work (see MiniELB) but any method I've tried that involves the flower being outside of the unit, even like what you're talking about or the all glass bowl that Vtac brought up...They all seem to require much higher temps, and don't vape evenly/milk up. The ELB design/placement, in conjunction with the restrictions, etc, are all very very key parts. After all, they made it from the Cloud design into the EVO design.

Seller got back to me, here is our communication:

"I did relate that if you wanted a US Style Unit, I would send you one. If all you want is a refund, you should have to pay for the shipping. I am willing to work with you but you don't seem to want me to. Not sure what else to do. Help me to help you. My end result is to ensure that all the customers are happy. There are several different plugs that are used world wide. I can not know which one you need if you do not communicate it to me. I send these all over the world and have had great success. Posting negative remarks won't help you more. I stated earlier that I can replace for you - just let me know."

TeamHeater

My Response:

Canada and the USA are both in North America. We both use the same electronics, it's pretty common knowledge, unless you are one of those Americans who think all Canadians live in Igloos. It makes absolutely no sense that you would send me an 220V, you just aren't admitting that you clearly sent me the wrong version. Yes you stated you would replace to me, at my own costs, which is crazy, the other option you gave me was to go by a random voltage convertor which is dangerous and could break my machine. So both options involve me spending more money out of my own pocket, because of your error? Just try to think of this if you were in my position, where you ordered something online and it came to you with a foreign plug. This is on top of screws being loose and misalignment issues all over the unit. The negative feedback score was not to help me, it was to warn others of your poor business practices and hopefully help others avoid the same frustrations I have had with you.

I tried with my SSV wand too, no luck.

My SSV screen mod works if you have access to EQ screens. Fits right into the Cloud+ tube and would prevent debris from falling into the bamboo/heater. But I'm not sure if the unmodded EQ screen would work as a end cap. Guess you could bend one to hold.

Interested to see how it would work too. Might change the heat dynamics a bit, create a smaller micro oven, better for concentrates.

@daverus
Please clarify, reads like TeamHeater is offering to replace at his shipping cost but if all you want is a refund, you have to pay for shipping. If that's the case, you might consider the replacement at his cost.
If I'm reading that wrong, please disregard.

I took the EQ elbow screen, packed it, cut the screen that goes into the EQ bowl to fit inside the elbow screen, put the elbow in the cloud, then there we go. Enjoy your camomile.

SORRY FOR CAPS BUT EVERYONE LISTEN TO ME.
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!

IT IS NOT AGAINST EBAY RULES FOR YOU TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN RETURN SHIPPING
BUT IT IS AGAINST EBAY RULES FOR YOU TO DEMAND YOUR CUSTOMER PAY RETURN SHIPPING.

ANYONE WHO TEAMHEATER HAS TOLD THAT YOU MUST PAY FOR RETURN SHIPPING (he told me this too) DO NOT DO SO. HE IS ONCE AGAIN BEING A CHEAP PIECE OF SHIT TRYING TO SWINDLE YOU OUT OF YOUR OWN MONEY.

IF HE WILL NOT PROVIDE RETURN POSTAGE, ESCALATE THE CASE TO EBAY OR CONTACT EBAY CUSTOMER SUPPORT. THEY WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A SHIPPING LABEL AND BILL IT TO TEAMHEATER.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID RETURN SHIPPING THEY CAN NOT AND WILL NOT PROVIDE POSTAGE OR CREDIT FOR WHAT YOU SPENT. At this point the best you can do is try and void your shipping label if you have not actually mailed it yet.

That Is All.

Not sure where you got your info, but...go to eBay, and look at the buyer protection policy.

"When an item doesn't match the listing description
If a buyer receives an item that doesn't match the listing description, the buyer needs to open a case by contacting the seller through the Resolution Center. The seller should address the buyer's concern and offer a solution, such as accepting a return or offering a replacement or refund.

If the buyer isn't happy with the seller's response or doesn't receive a seller response, the buyer can ask us to review the case and make a decision.

If we're asked to decide the case, we review the item description and any other information about the item that the buyer and seller provide. If we can't determine whether or not the item matches the listing description, or if the seller has already offered to accept a return, we ask the buyer to return the item to the seller.

When an item is returned to the seller

  • The buyer must return the item in the same condition in which it was received.

  • The seller is required to accept the return at the same location specified in the listing.
  • If the cost of return shipping isn't covered by the seller according to their return policy, we may decide to pay for return shipping costs in some cases. If we don't pay for the return shipping costs, the buyer is responsible. For items with a total cost of $750 or more, signature confirmation is required for the return.

  • The seller pays for any customs charges on the returned item.
  • After confirming that the item was returned to the seller, we refund the full cost of the item and original shipping to the buyer's PayPal account. The seller reimburses us for the amount.
.....

Counterfeit items

If a buyer suspects that an item is counterfeit and there are strong indicators that the item is counterfeit, the buyer isn't required to return the item to the seller. The buyer agrees to cooperate with us to ensure the proper disposal of the item. In these cases, we refund the buyer for the full cost of the item and original shipping, and the seller reimburses us for the refund. The buyer may not sell the item on eBay or elsewhere."

I didn't have time to color code mine like yours lol...I admire the work though ;)

Now first off, If you haven't already...you folks with disputes need to ask eBay to review the case. Second, if you look at the return policy, it's going to be up to eBay weather or not they will cover the cost for you, or if you have to pocket it. Third (really, first...)

Also, Is it just me or did they update the listing??

Looks like they're really stretching it with some of those points... :hmm:

I Appreciate You Going Out And Getting All This Information!

I Have Been Selling On Ebay Since 1998. I Know Well Their Rules They Have Posted Often Do Not Apply!

If You File A Problem Claim Against The Seller, And They Refuse To Give You Return Postage, All You Need To Do Is Escalate The Ebay Claim.

100% Of The Time Ebay Will Make A Return Label And Charge The Seller If The Buyer Refuses To Pay For Return Shipping. No Matter What The Seller Says. Even If The Seller Says "No Returns Whatsoever".

I'm almost certain that "our large purchasing power" is bull shit. These units were the last of the clusterfuck VXL had with these people who were the contract manufacturers. Caveat emptor.

I'm back to provide a status report on the Floud+

2:30 is the juicy spot for sure. flower-hash-flower-keif-flower sandwiches are magical, especially when pulled thru my giant rig (9mm 16" stemless tube w/ disc perc and a showerhead ashcatcher).

This is my first hands on experience with anything Vapexhale/Cloud related and I must say I am impressed. I, like others, will now be buying an Evo and I feel that this cheap 'preview' helped me make this decision.

:peace:

lazylathe

Almost there...
I bit the bullet and decided to try one of these out...
In all honesty it will be used as a back up just in case something ever happens to my EVO!!!
After reading the posts in the EVO thread and how people are loving their new units and cannot think of being without it, i decided a back up would be in order!

And since it has no warranty at all i will be opening it up if anything ever goes wrong with it to try various repair methods. Really hoping it works out of the box though!
I just want to hit it once, after my EVO arrives, then it will be packed away just in case...

I have contacted the guy selling these and he has answered my questions in a timely fashion, even after i had paid for the unit. Hoping he keeps up his good behaviour if something is wrong with the unit i am sent...

It should arrive today if Fedex is on time for a change in my area...

Hey guys, so good news. After I wrote him that reply above, he sent me an email the morning apologizing about the mistake, and finally admitted it was his error. He is sending me a shipping label for return. He said he would also exchange for a 112V unit, but I am weary to keep doing business with him now.

Almost there...
The cloud has landed!!!
Well the fake, hope it works for a long time Cloud has arrived...
Will be testing tonight to see that it powers up and actually reaches vaping temps!
I have a friend coming over and he is going to be the test pilot!
Results will be posted later tonight or tomorrow!

EDIT: Well that sucks!!!!
Open up the box to discover an odd flat 3 prong plug!!!
And the unit has a bit of tape stuck to it that says 220V!!! FUCK!!!
Sending the seller a message and if no answer a dispute...

Almost there...
Question time!!

Does the Cloud need to be grounded when in use?
Or could i change the plug for a 2 prong one and use with a step transformer?

Did not want to edit this into the last post above…

EDIT: i might just buy a step up transformer for it. $30 for a 500W transformer is not too bad...

Just got mine. No ELBs, unfortunately. But I take it that's not unusual. Where is the best place to get ELBs currently? (I hope that's not a stupid question)

My friends call me "Menz"
my ELB's have arrived!!! after two weeks of staring at this cloud wondering what it will be like... i am now just 5 minutes away from finding out!!!

Edit: UPDATE: i am back, from my first test flight and i can say that this cloud+ or whatever the new name we FC'ers are giving it, does indeed work. i am very medicated right now and it still seems to be pulling vapor from it after quite a few hits.... just took another one right now.... not sure how its lasting so long. the hits were stronger in the beginning and have faded some but i can still blow huge clouds.

it is only my first test so more experimentation will be needed. but at least i know it works. not sure how much buddha is going to like sitting next to this new device.

we shall see..........

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
I got mine from Vapornation before they went out of stock as previously reported. They allowed the FC discount. However if you wait til Fri-Mon they will be 15% off.

update, received tracking info yesterday day, paid on 20th. Really slow communication and doesnt answer all questions.
Said I have been sent the correct 220v for my country so fingers crossed.

Maybe they are running low on 110v??

I am beginning to think if it is possible to buy one of these only for spare parts - to take the whole bamboo with heater out of that and replace my broken genuine bamboo with that. I think that only takes resoldering 4 wiresat the PCB. A new bamboo is the only thing my Cloud needs - it still heats up and everything. And considering I have no warranty on it after taking the trade-in deal and that the whole enclosure is fucked up I don't think I will ever send that unit in. I just want to make it work. And after throwing 1000$ into the legit and vapexhale company (because they deserve it) I should deserve a working Cloud. If only the money went to the vapexhale and not these scumbags using their name and old parts for their profit. But paying them seems to me the only option to have Cloudy Christmas more every day. And the clock is ticking. I hope VapeXhale gets their EU compatible PCB componets soon enough (in a week?). Hope dies last.

Seems like a reasonable strategy. I could be wrong but maybe when replacing the bamboo you could do something to provide some strength to the ceramic-wire connection (seems to be a potential flaw). Now some of the people I have talked to (my dad and OF) have said that it wont make too much difference, that the problem is due to thermal stress not mechanical stress. But while you have it for a swap might as well try something?

OF gave me a great suggestion, furnace cement

3000F rating

http://www.amazon.com/MEECOS-120-Fu...qid=1385625302&sr=8-1&keywords=furnace+cement

Unless I think of a something that would be a better candidate, this is what I am going with as a (hopefully) preventative step.
