Tried contacting seller/cancelling order for a week now and not gotten any replies as of yet, anyone else having more luck?

eBay/PayPal doesn't know or care about the situation between this seller and VXL, and if you're just looking to cancel due to buyer's regret you may not get much help from the buyer protection plan. A defective product may be a different story, even if the seller says no warranty-no returns.wootze said:Don't worry, I'm pretty sure you have abundant recourse through paypal and ebay.
I don't think we should call these clouds
Yup! I call mine "stickstones fantasy football team" cuz it's put together shoddy...I don't think we should call these clouds

I don't think what this e-bay seller is doing is right at all, let's make that perfectly clear.
But on the other hand, it's great that we can all sit back and enjoy a laugh about how shitty this product is! But if you own a cloud+ this guy made your fucking unit!
There wasn't a time when they were being produced correctly, they were made this poorly the entire time. This isn't a "bad batch". The beat up assembly, the bad electronics smell etc have all been reported right from the beginning.
If this is a "different model" than the cloud plus I was sold, as has been claimed, I'm going to need some proof on that. Until then, what I see is a company continually backing away from a product I have a two year warranty on.
Pretty sure that is called fraud.I wonder what would happen if all the people with legitimate, dead Cloud pluses that currently have no warranty recourse suddenly all bought one of these, then, the moment it arrived, swapped guts (or just the piece of the casing with the serial number) between units and immediately filed a Paypal claim for a dead-on-arrival unit, claiming a refund back? The listing may say there's no warranty, but that doesn't mean Paypal would let them get away with sending out DoA units. You could pretty damn confidently assume they'd decide on behalf of the buyer in that case, but Paypal/eBay has always traditionally favoured buyers over sellers anyway.
Net result:
VXL customer's Cloud is restored to working order, which is currently not possible through any other avenue.
The repair is paid for by the people that made it so it'd fuck up in the first place, rather than VXL.
Customer is only out the same amount of effort he'd have to go through doing the legitimate RMA process anyway.
Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?
...
But this is purely theoretically, of course. I'm not specifically advocating mass fraud (even if it's to redress a previous mass fraud), and people need to follow their own moral compass, blah, blah, blah. I will say I would certainly personally find it amusing if such a thing were to occur, though...
Pretty sure that is called fraud.
I am new to the blog and have been reading all the threads on the cloud. I am interested in buying one of the cheap units to see what all the hype is about.
I thought the cloud + was a crowd pleaser other than the fact that they had a penchant for dying. And the other forum members on here with prior OG and + experience who purchased one of these Clouds seems to have stated it worked as it should. Unless i misunderstood to them.I know a lot of people here have used the above rationale for buying one of these, but I gotta ask, will you really find out what the hype is all about if you buy this rather than the EVO? Is trying to find out how good the Cloud really is by purchasing one that has known defects and operates to sub-standard levels, really going to give you a sense of how good the Cloud really is?
right now this is all I can afford. layoff from my job a month or so. really want to do the evo but can not swing it right now.
@stickstones Can I add that to my sig line or will you be offended.Yup! I call mine "stickstones fantasy football team" cuz it's put together shoddy...
Unless it's DOA it should provide good info on what kind of hit it can provide, but if it dies on you, that's not reflective of what VXL is currently producing. You'll also need to get some ELB's since the seller has none (and VXL is currently sold out).jdhit said:I am interested in buying one of the cheap units to see what all the hype is about.
