when I took the top off and blew In it sometime it would glow.. not sure if I was blowing Into differently or if it was the device.

so far I've had one good hit but it still won't recognize on the app when I plug it in. is there something I'm supposed to do? just plug it in and open the app right?

Try making sure the USB is pushed all the way in the Elevape. Mine needed to be pushed in a first. Also use a cellphone USB cord, not the little one it comes with
it was pushed in enough to make the light orange? and I'll try another cord. thanks for the tip

edit: a different cord helped it recognize it. I changed the temps and got one great hit right after and thought it was cured. I even ran to tell my brother until I couldn't repeat it

The included cord is crap, yes.

My new screens should arrive today... this is good, as I finally lost a mouthpiece screen.

I do wish the mouthpiece actually fit the hole it sits in. Mine has too much wiggle, and it can come loose too easily.

NOTE: This is the only complaint I have about this little gem, so far. It just works for me.

It hasn't been completed yet @grokit They've been working on it for a few months now. The conduction issue was part of the reason its taking a while, they have to get the materials and sizes just right. Lasti heard they were switching materials for the new screen panel

Mine is loose too @Enchantre , I was told it was bc they need to allow enough tolerneve between the parts. I also never use the mouthpiece screens, make the draw so much more difficult and I don't mind the occasional Scooby snack

My package of screens arrived. No mouthpiece screens :hmm:
but, enough lid screens to keep me well happy!
New brush, and another O-ring.
Oh, and coils! They sent me coils. I may be the only person with no issue with the coil... :brow: but, I have spares, now.

I really should go swap my lid screen now, and soak my dirties...

@andygut idk if u figured it out or not but make sure ur coil is in their good. If it is then u prolly are going to have to send it back. I just had the same issue

Hi got one if these come Xmas just wanted to ask does it come with any spare coils in the box or will I have to order some as I would like a spare or two, thanks

RastaVapa,

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Mac application is already available. Yes it's simple and easy.

Have tried the one from their site several times without success. Says its a Beta and it crashes immediately.

my vape is fine and I love it. It doesn't leave my side. The only downside is stiring, and the cap can be kinda tough to take off. Other than that the Cape is perfect. I like the design and the matte looking good finish. The heat up time is faster than my herbalizer and the taste reminds me of my solo but cleaner/cooler. you can seriously blow clouds with this thing. I'm at 385, 415, 450.

curious. . what tips did joe have?

I'm still experimenting with mine too, but it's still my daily driver. I don't seem to be having much luck when it's unplugged though. I can get hits sometimes, other times I get nothing at all. When I'm plugged in, it's much more consistent. I think I've got the problem that was mentioned by someone earlier where it needs to be plugged into a USB for a few seconds to work again, despite having battery. I don't trust taking it out of the house because I can't rely on it working when I want it and at home I just keep it plugged in all the time to avoid any battery headaches. Has anyone managed to resolve that issue yet? I'm wondering if reflashing the firmware would help.
is there a fix to this? I am having the same problem

My apologies that I haven't been more vocal in this thread lately, but I was having consistency issues with my ESV that have now been resolved.

I too was having this same problem recently, but slightly different. For me, I could only get a decent hit, it seemed, after plugging into my computer and then unplugging and taking a hit.

What worked for me was charging it closer to 95 % charged, doming the screen away from the heater coil, fiddling with the temps, and hitting it with a more consistent pull.

I know it's been said by others, and myself, that the ESV has not much of a learning curve, but I no longer believe that to be the case. If you do any coil replacement, or bottom bowl screen replacement, I think you have to "teach" yourself how to hit it again, for optimal purposes.

IMO, the ESV is still a temperamental unit, but it's also nearly completely upgradeable and we know improvements are being implemented nearly as quickly as problems crop up. I for one wouldn't trade my ESV for any other vape, and have been seriously considering buying a second. I never considered that for my FF, and if you know me, then you know I'd have sex with my Firefly if I could.

Fiddle with your temps, work on your screen placement, and keep a medium-fast, steady draw. That's what is working best for me.

I don't think anyone will tell you that the ESV is perfect, but if you want a vape that has ridiculously personal customer service, *instant* convection capabilities, and a completely inconspicuous form factor, then the ESV is pretty much impossible to beat...

If units aren't working when unplugged this has to be a warrantee issue don't you think? Currently I am only charging via a LG phone wall unit. I'm not a heavy user but the charge usually last me four or so days. Hope you guys get it figured out.

curious. . what tips did joe have?

We probably spoke for 45 minutes or more. Joe explained a lot of technical details that I did not know about the ESV. I have not gotten through this whole thread yet but I assume some may have been discussed here. It's pretty amazing the research and development that went into this vape that started back in 2010! When he was describing all of this I thought to myself that it would be difficult to find a more technologically advanced competitor although I am sure someone could come up with an argument to that these days.

We spoke about load size and he suggested I keep it under .2 g and could expect to get 6-8 nice rips and maybe stir or tap for the last couple. He also said a medium grind works best but I have seen folks on FC say they use a fine grind so I guess I will experiment with that myself. I use both kinds depending on which vape I'm using.

The big draw for me on this is the convection and tech features. I really wanted an on demand type vape with some tasty convection goodness. The Firefly would have been the natural choice before this one but when you add in the application and the customization that comes with it, you really have a winner in my book! Plus this thing is stealthy which I really like!

I hope I am not building it up too much in my mind! I have wanted this since before it came out so tomorrow is a long time coming! I will try to get through the rest of this thread tonight and I want to thank everyone in advance for your contributions.

Couldn't agree more guys!

I don't understand why there aren't more of us on here even now. The Elevape has some pretty revolutionary features that people look for in an ideal vape to replace a pipe. Sure there are quirks and curves, what portable doesn't?! But they all get love if they're safe and work. Not only does this one work, the way it works seems like something quite literally everyone would want; on demand convection vapor (typically) day long battery, usb and safe use while charging, small stealthy form, taken apart for easy full cleaning, great customer service/warranty, customizable temps, and d rolling upgrades...

I've been enjoying the firefly very much though too, it's kind of simpler with just the one temp and (at least so far in mine) no risk of combustion so an easier learning curve in that way. And it is quite cool and showy as a home portable, usually when I combusted with my Elevape it was late at night and I didn't need to keep hitting it anymore, so of course I had lost the attention span to draw quicker by then... Well at least firefly doesn't have that problem lol

Overall though, the Elevape is just capable of much more and offers a greater value I think, though I paid $260 for it, and $240 for the firefly with an extra battery... So solid prices i think. Wish Elevape had a swappable battery though, that would push it even further(except Firefly depends on its greatly and can't be used pass through charging disappointingly)... Hey maybe it will get that feature eventually too! I'll likely be posting an actual Elevape vs Firefly breakdown in the near future which will go into more detail as well, long story short, both pretty excellent on demand convection portables once you figure out how they work for you!

I use a SCS for my herb, so I think that counts as "medium"...
I probably use between .1-.15g per load.
I've also been leaving it alone until about the 4th or 5th hit, then I'll stir and maybe get 2 more.

I use a wall wart/USB charger, generally, to charge. Every night. I don't think my charge gets below 85%, usually, as it's normally above that if I plug it into my PC to check/adjust temps.

It isn't my daily driver, but it is, most definitely, my travel vape. It gets used almost every day.
