Ed's WoodScents Log Vape - Ed's TnT

No doubt, it is just that the wood is hard to clean compared to glass.:2c:

I just swab it out with an alcohol soaked swab once in a blue-moon, without the intention of getting every bit. A layer of waxy-oil can't possibly be bad for the wood.

I don't worry too much about the wood tunnels on my StickyBrick Hydrobrick Maxx either. I just run a pipe-cleaner through them once in a while if they start to get a bit clogged. the wood seems fine.

Just received my California redwood burl WS. Very exquisite piece. Quality is definitely something Mr. Ed pays attention too. When i tried my Ti tip at around 8 it wasnt really ripping hard? I turned it up a bit and got some visible hits, but ABV was still light green? How do i make my abv darker with the Ti tip?
Good tips on temp?

I use mine at about 9.5 to 9.7. My ABV is always the perfect golden-brown.

I’m kinda a cloud chaser and I find that the standard power supply wasn’t meeting my demand. I like to use my WS with a Variable Voltage Power Supply at around 13.5 to 13.7. I get good extraction and some nice dark ABV.

Solid milky clouds with complete extraction at 8 on the analog dial.
I don't know how some of you use it turned up so high without combusting?
More power to ya! I do wonder sometimes if I’m pushing near combustion, but I’ve never had that issue with the WS. I like to thoroughly vape my material as I don’t typically expect to re-use abv. Even at 8 or 9 on the standard dial I end up with greenish abv that i can then extract full clouds from if I transfer to another vape. When i crank my WS to 13 on the vvps I get thick, flavorful clouds; just how I like them. Some prefer lower temp, whispier vapor for flavor....i hate to taste it and not feel the effects.

One thing I’ve noticed, but dismissed it as an unsubstantiated thought, is that over time my unit didn’t deliver as much of a “punch” with the included power supply....like the threshold of output has decreased over time. Then I got the vvps and I swear that 13.5 consistently delivers what I had originally come to expect from 8 on the OG dial. In fact, I had first marked my dial at around 8.5 because that was hot enough. Eventually I found I couldn’t even enjoy it at max output.

Have you confirmed the actual readout of your VVPS with a decent multimeter? I have also had face melters at 13+ volts but the taste was not great, I can get the same sized clouds that taste much better at arount 12.4(actual, one of my vvps displays is out by .3 volt)
I actually run 1xws at 11.2-11.4 for 1 or 2 hits followed by my other ws at 12.4-5v to finish a preheated bowl.

Ha! That’s a lot of action! Never have tried readings with a meter as I don’t have one in hand... I don’t mind the flavor at the temperatures I use...then again my flowers are not typically top-shelf (Legal state of affairs).

I can’t imagine having two WS running at the same time, I try to make sure my one unit isn’t running all day! What I have done is use my WS at around 11 - 12v, vaped through my bubbler till there’s no visible vapor, then transferred the load into my Induction Heater and still extracted a good deal of vapor.

You must draw extremely slow compared to most of us (and I thought I drew extremely slow for those last three or so very whispy/thin hits while extracting the last of the vapor, but you must be considerably slower on the draw than me if you're nearing combustion).

I use mine with the dial it came with turned up all the way quite often, and I've never had reason to worry about combustion with this log. I don't know about using a VVPS that will push more power than the highest setting on the dial, because I've never owned one. However, it seems impossible to combust within any of the voltage range that the little dial it came with is capable of providing.

Not particularly so.........I have big lungs and ain't afraid to use them.
I tend to take a roughly 15 to 30 second draw..........if that matters?

@Rollingstoned is your WS warm to the touch when you pick it up/handle it? Mine are quite warm after being on for 30 minutes, might be worth putting a multimeter on the plug to see if the voltage is correct if it is not warming enough. You should get 12-12.1v DC out of the end of the WS plug:tup:

I have what I consider weak lungs. I found that the dial cranked to full blast would have no chance at combustion. I got my vvps going after my first few uses and haven't used the dial since. But even at 11.9 I can't combust. Matter of fact I've been using a glass Charlie xl stem with shadow tip. I can easily melt my face off at 11.9 with both glass stems but the xl feels cooler. Some monstrous hits.

I've had enough time now to say that I truly like the WS. It's a great vaporizer. A breeze to use, clean, quick, efficient. Great complement to VC.
The exciting part is knowing I'm just getting started. So many different ways to use.

Hi all,
I am about to be a proud new owner of a WS. I am now realizing that there is a VVPS option that some like to use. I've read back a bit and I am still torn and a little confused on whether this is needed for my WS.

I don't chase clouds but I also like to have some vapor production. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

TIA.

Not neaded unless you want to cook some concentrates or want to try even lower temperature vaping which is what I like to do with my vvps. I usually have mine on 11.2v and still get good clouds and even better taste IMO than standard. I would just use the standard plug to start with as you can always grab a vvps later if you feel you need to try it differently. One other advantage is being able to see your voltage with the vvps as the dial on the standard power supply can be hard to see for us with less than 20/20 eyesight.

Thanks for this. Its good to know that the VVPS is used to achieve lower power for tastier hits. That sounds right up my ally.

Yeah, I'm inclined to wait but I was just thinking that it would be nice to consolidate shipping costs and if the consensus was to get the VVPS, then I could save myself the time and get it now.

I imagine that its not "needed" as I can't see Ed putting out a product that didn't come with what was needed.

I have VAS and all of its associated symptoms...

For the" price of admission", Ed sends you absolutely everything you need to fully enjoy your WS. The accompanying temp. control is excellent once you get the feel of where your sweet spot is. However I say treat yourself to his new VVPS. I recently started micro dosing with it for an energetic daytime mind frame. You can really pinpoint your lower temps more easily and like LesPlenty, I'll get great production from 10.9 - 11.3. Never thought of temp stepping with my WS units. Ed's heater & VVPS never cease to amaze.

I went ahead and snagged a VVPS. My WS is arriving today (plus VVPS)! Beyond pumped to try it out!
