@Jen, you can use Wite-Out, nail polish, a silver Sharpie etc. to make a line on the assembly of the temp dial. Once you find your sweet spot you can put another line that aligns with the first one on the rotating dial itself. This will make it really easy to hit that sweet spot.

You can even use different colors on the rotating dial for different uses. For example, a green line for flowers and a yellow line for concentrates.

Excellent idea, thank you very much!

I do have a question regarding the dial. I promise I've searched this thread but couldn't find a definitive answer, so my apologies if I've just missed it. This first image of my dial is turned off. The second image is what I imagine to be around a 7, but I have no idea, as I can't see a notch or "starting point" of the dial. How do I know the temp (she asks, feeling super silly.)

So if the above is "off" is the below around a 7?

Thats a real stunner @Jen. Classic & timeless with some beautiful contrasts & turned perfectly. The great thing with Ed is how he turns the wood just right for that particular piece finding lots of features & perfectly capturing them to look best. It really is an artform. Cracking stem by @phattpiggie to round out the package.

My poor VCs... Here lately, the long DD stem in Buckeye Burl from Ed is the only stem I've used, whether it's with the WS or butane.

Got me an additional VVPS to have so now the log is the only thing I have to move around. I also got a dual channel vvps for...future reasons :brow: lol

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their WS!

So I just got a new M from the $20 sale, and I'm here to report that it fits on my WS, no modding necessary. It just fits, which is nice.

I also picked up extra condensers for my Ed's stems, and an extra tip. I'm loving this setup and wondering what took me so long to get here.

Congrats Jen! I didn't realize you had such a collection of VCs...glad you got you a WS. I know you are going to be much happier with it than the other alternative, especially with that VC collection.

This is the first pair of stems I've been asked to make specifically to go with a WS, not just any WS but a piece of the planets history.
Blackwood and Bog Oak 'Dark Matters' inspired.

It was only after I'd been turning VC stuff for a while that I spoke with Ed and found out the WS was going to use the same bowls as the VC. Pleasantly surprised is an understatement.

Today marks my first anniversary in the shed and @Ed's TnT has been a great source of encouragement, we've spoken a few times and found common ground in wood, food and more.

I'm more than happy to turn stems to accompany this industry first, safe as houses log.

And because today marks the start of a new round of orders, the info is in the shed.

Many thanks Ed, I'll raise a glass to the future.

Good morning everyone, today is my birthday

am 41 woot woot, my girl took me to dinner the other night rrrr baby back ribs at Logans! Has been hot hot down here, jeez so ready for it to be cool again. Had a great week last, my girl came and did 7 days with me, had the boys for 3 at the end of the week. We are still watching the auditions on AGT and wow what talented people this year. Saw a 13 year old girl the other night with an amazing voice, she nailed it and her story behind her sound hit home, amazing! Then saw the last guy a young dr. with another great voice, he had such a great personality and his sound was spot on. After he auditioned before the show air he was in a car wreck and lost his life, his family wanted it to be aired anyway, talent lost way too early. If you all arent watching it this year you sure oughta, I cant wait for the real performances. I will turn 41 this coming wednesday, my sons have been asking me what I wanted. Told them all I wanted was to go see the see Apes movie. My oldest got me a ticket and so we went, what a great flick. It was the final of them, was a heckofa way to end it too. Thats another yall gotta get to see, in theater its a must!

I have been turning a bit for sure. I finally cut into the small chunk of museum grade Amboyna Burl a few weeks back. This stuff is amazing, the bright vibrant tones and eyes are outa sight! I have a couple already spoken for, Ill let the pics speak for themselves.

I was looking out the shop when I saw Major and Daly getting rambunctious, in this pic Daly looks like she has the upper hand lol gosh those teeth look vicious.

The WoodScents packages just get better and better, I am adding the DynaVap Cap to it now so you can have a desktop and a portable in the same package. You can easily go from home to out and about with your WoodScents stem. Is there another vape unit capable of that?

Dont forget I sent out orings to just about all of yall. International owners to get which I will do this week. Have to go to the PO to do that. Alot of you all should be seeing them today and if so pls let me know what you think of how they perform.

@Square4Life No way I am not the man, I just try to think like him. I have said it before my strategy is to show up early and hope to get lucky, so far its been working really well for me. I am glad you find the results of the testing to show what we have all seen first hand.

@Jen Thats a sweet rig you have there, I really liked how that piece of walnut has the different tones in it. @Square4Life for life is correct with the dial setting he is spot on with it. What a beauiful collection you have of VC stuff, very cool!

@Vapor_Eyes Thanks for your advice to, great idea!

@Whissmu Hang in there, being broke does suck but hopefully it doesnt last forever. I am not going anywhere!

@Stevenski Bro you know how I do, I have to look at every piece from start to finish, each angle is taken into account before the next step in the process ensuring its a stunner at the end.

@Gigsabits53 Glad you like it as well!

@CanadianBakin You are so covered bro, aint nothing stopping you from doing what you do!

@turk I am glad that some do and more find out what a great advantage both are paired together.

@phattpiggie Wow so glad to see the Bog Oak turned out, I really dig the variety and flare in both those piece, well done! Congratulations on marking the year, thats a big big deal and I am happy for you, they only get better! Yes sir its nice to have met you and get to know you as I have, you are a solid bro! Good luck in your future, I know you doing what you do will make all the difference!

I wish everyone all the best and many good times out there!

Many thanks @Ed's TnT, it's been great fun so far and your experience and knowledge have been much appreciated.
Always nice to find common ground with folk on the other side of the planet.

The industry has exploded and hopefully it will continue to gain momentum as more places legalise.

Old timer or totally new to the business the MJ pie is huge and their are plenty of slices to go round.

Best of wishes for today, I'd like to say I can remember being 41 but that would be a lie.

Have a great day and I'll sink a bevvy or two this evening in celebration.

Indeed, a very happy birthday I wish you Ed! Hope you have a fabulous day/week/month/year/life/afterlife(?) etc etc...

You deserve it all. Now as a special birthday treat Ed, I have some "meal porn" for you, to hopefully arouse you appetite, I bet you have some finger lickin' grub lined up for the day, and I know how much you love sharing photos with us of your food adventures, so here is some of your own medicine:

Home made baked chickpea bread with a dish of raw carrot, sweetcorn and green olives. To be dressed with a mix of my favorite spices in olive oil drizzled over, turmeric, cayenne, cinnamon, cardamom and cumin. Love my organic spices and olive oil for punch and flavor, and medicine!

Roasted sweet potatoes in coconut oil, with green olives, organic whole tahini and peanut butter, parsley, and again with a delicious spicy olive oil drizzle to come, plus loads of himalayan salt.

Baked sweet potato, cooled and spread with coconut oil and organic smooth peanut butter, with cooked cabbage and crunchy raw carrot. Simply yummy!
You gotta try left over baked potatoes like this, spread with coconut oil and peanut butter.
And have you ever tried the combo of cooked red cabbage and raw carrots? You gotta bro, just so right!

Boiled sweet potatoes, roasted courgette/zucchini in coconut oil, tinned tuna and green olives.

Seriously, zucchini roasted in coconut oil is so good. Doesnt take long, if you sprinkle oregano on top 5 mins before they are done, it tastes like pizza. Goes so well with anything.

Organic wholemeal pasta, boiled kale, raw carrot and sauerkraut, with tahini with turmeric, cayenne and cinnamon mixed into it.

Baked sweet potato, baked cod, raw asparagus, with coconut oil, olive oil and spices to come!

"Teff" (like millet, quinoa etc, SO tasty), raw carrot, raw soaked walnuts and sauerkraut.

And for the meat lovers, organic chicken, roast sweet potatoes (one of my faves), and green olives.

I need sour foods but can't tolerate most sour foods, so it comes down to olives and sauerkraut exclusively, hence the repetition.
I am so intolerant to man made food, and fully comitted to feeding my body with medicine and never poison, so 100% of my food is home cooked, natural, unrefined and basic.
All natural fat, salt etc. Nothing processed, just pure simple goodness simply cooked, slapped on a plate and dressed very liberally with himalayan salt, organic spices and healthy fats for stacks of flavour and punch!

That is your lot for today, more where that came from.
I do hope you enjoyed the tour, don't look at it all at once! Been meaning for a while to do this here in response to your own moutwatering images making me hungry many times.

Have a great day Ed and the warmest wishes to all!:)
