@Reflections! I had a run in with him on the HI thread. I don't think he cares for me by his response and attacks. In any case I would be surprised if he would sell to me. That's okay as I am sure there are lots of other options out there. The truth is; I was planning on giving my walnut nano to my sister and having epic make me another one with wood I supply, but in the last few days I have become really attached to the nano I already own. I know it might sound stupid but that little guy has a personality all his own, lol. I mean the temp it hits at etc, I am sure every nano has slight variances that contribute to each's "uniqueness". So I am thinking that I will find a used or buy her a new one, and then get a custom wood one from Epic in the near future. I had no idea I could get attached to a vape like this!

@Snappo is a good guy. I'd offer an apology and bet he would be glad to sell you some wood. Worth it IMO. He has some beautiful exotic stuff. Have you checked his thread?
Can you compare solo and nano loades with the same amount of material at a similar temps, please?

@CarolKing on the mighty, so will leave others to discuss it. But compared to solo? Really a much different experience. First and biggest IMO is solo is conduction as much as convection. So, your load is cooking whether you are or not. This has a big impact on flavor, also. Well, to me at least. Notice how
@dxer was just mentioning the lack of popcorn taste? Some in part due to lower temp I'm sure, but probably more because of all convection - no conduction. solo can be like a damned popcorn popper after a few good hits.
nano will cook a little if you leave your load on it (whether stem or on top of bubbler), but you have to leave it there for a few minutes at least. Less likely if inverted on top of a bubbler. Heat rises, so if nano is above load (as it will be if inverted) even less heat is hitting your load.
To get to your specific questions in this post....
Draw - not even a close competition. nano is pretty wide open (depending on load) compared to solo. Where you have to draw pretty hard to hit solo, you may actually have to draw a little slower for optimum nano hits. It is like night & day, not just in draw required, but in the hit you get for the lung power you use.
Flavor - Again... night and day. nano, especially on lower heat with a stem, will give amazing flavor. Every new strain I get I do at least a load at 5.5 dry, to get a feel for flavor and effect. Not only are flavors more distinct (much in part due to pure convection), but effects seem to be more striking as well. I suppose there are vapes out there that deliver flavor as well as nano (Milaana can get close with practice), but I would be surprised to find one that does better.
Clouds - They can be had, as much or more than solo, but they aren't as easy to get. Just takes a little more practice and learning your nano to draw big ones. Well, should say to draw big ones without combusting. Use a bit higher heat, and for me having the screen a little further back works. Counter-intuitive, but think you need the added airspace to use high temps and not combust. At least it seems to make it easier.
Just remembered one more question I think you asked up there.... differences in wood. There may be something to different woods giving slightly different vape profiles, but differences would be very slight. There is a certain magic to the nano at full operating temp (after proper warm up), but I don't think type of wood plays much of a role. I do think it has something to do with the inner metal cup and wood getting up to temp, but suspect it is more that this creates a "heat cushion" around the heater housing inside the cup. Once you get there, most of the heat being created is following the air - the air that you're drawing through the stem - instead of heating the air, metal and wood surrounding it. At the same time, your intake is at the bottom of the heater tube, so air is getting pre-heated by the now warm cup before it ever hits the heater. Mostly speculation, but I've probably spent a a few hours (at least!) wondering about such things during daily sessions. What's not speculation is that it leads to amazing hits, the least of which are worlds better than a solo hit. My solo was only for hitting away from home, and hasn't seen the light of day since I got a better portable.
- but most here are pretty nice. Some of those jed-Hi's can take themselves a bit too seriously when you catch them on home turf, tho. Certainly not as bad as some other threads can be, but get what you're saying. No worries. I wouldn't sweat it too much, and definitely don't take it personally!
