@ACE OF VAPE U know I love your work? The maple burls are actually the least likely to crack or split. The grain structure is random and the fibers are more pliable, flexible and less brittle than straight grain wood. Small checks in a burl have no clear path to travel and appear to be self healing in some instances. In four years of making maple burls I've never encountered or heard of one splitting.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on an E-Nano today. Was originally going to get a Ghost MV1 but I don't need it to be portable (I have a Vapcap+CFX) and only use it with a matrix sidecar bubbler at my desk.
I've been skimming the thread and seen mention of a V2 that was originally timetabled by May this year. Any updates on that? I can't search because the string is too short.
Our current E-Nano with the removable cord is actually our V2. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!
That sucks it definitely seems to be a recurring issue.
Both my maple and cherry units cracked but they were just the wood........good luck with your rma.
My walnut has not cracked yet but I suspect that's because I have yet to use it.
The last couple gongs I got from them were of poor quality also with one being so mishapened it barely fits on the post.
A small percentage do crack. It's unavoidable using wood and heat, (both my Taylor and Martin guitars have cracks in them) However it is a very small percentage or we wouldn't be able to sustain this biz since we replace them when it comes to our attention. That sucks it definitely seems to be a recurring issue.

Please read the reply above about wood cracking. I've made a few from stabilized wood, but the blanks are expensive!Yep, it does suck. I've contacted their customer service and we'll see what happens. My GonG does seem to be of good quality though. Sorry to hear about your Gongs, (when did you receive yours) we just received a new stock from a new supplier. Please contact customerservice@epicvape.com to have them replaced.
Edited to add: I know real wood is nice but maybe they need to use some sort of indestructible composite material and put a wood veneer on it, or something that can handle the heat.
have there been any other changes to the v2 model other than the cord?
I guess all this talk about cracks, splits and whatnot was too much for my maple nano to endure. When I went to use it yesterday, I discovered a full-length split in the wood. The dial was set at 6.5 when it cracked. I tried filling the crack with wood glue and clamping it with hose clamps, but the crack wouldn’t close much. Then I noticed the power socket has a crack too. It's disappointing as I just received this for my birthday last month.
This my only vaping device, so I hate to send it back and wait. Since it’s so new, I’ll contact EpicVape and ask about the possibility of sending me a replacement and then returning this one afterwards. It still works, and if it was just the wood I'd fill the crack and move on, but with the power socket broke too, I can see this causing problems down the road.

We are able to send you a new unit before you send back your E-Nano so there is no downtime. It isn't something we put on our website as it's determined on a case by case basis and requires a deposit. However, I hate knowing anyone is without a working E-Nano. If you want to shoot over another email to customerservice@epicvape.com and use the subject line: "RMA Loaner" we can chat about the details.
@arb Send me an email customerservice@epicvape.com if you haven't already, let's get those gongs replaced!
Let me know if I missed anyone else's posts!
Yes it is.Just found 3/8" stated at page 1 of this thread now. Is this still correct after 5+ years?
NiceYes it is.
Overall, no. However our current E-Nano's also have a small washer near the top end of the metal core to help reduce strain on the glass gongs and accessories.
