It seems that if a nano is going to split it generally does so in the first 1-2 months. Most don't, but sometimes the grain just has a weak point. This is based on reading prior posts here.
I think I remember reading that the more expensive burl models are less likely to split. Possibly because the grain is all twisty.
You're probably under warranty. The bad part is the wait if you don't have a back-up.
