Unfortunately, or fortunately, however you look at it.
I don't get "high". With my neuro damage, my "thinking side" doesn't get the effects. I've never had the one toke over experience.

I have gotten very clumsy, though, as my body absorbs all the meds, but the heady effect. Yeah, I don't really get that much.

I also leave my ENano on 24/7, and I usually do 3 or 4 stems (3 draws each), in order to get my medicated effects. No head, however. Darn it all.
So nice to hear from you @Enchantre! You were a mainstay in this thread when I first got my E-Nano. :D

In honor of @CarolKing, I ask the nano nation, what's in your nano tonight? I broke out some private reserve Strawberry Headband tonight. It tastes exactly like a wild strawberry that isn't quite ripe yet, not sweet at all but delicious and exotic all the same! I wanted to save more but it was so delicious I only managed to save this puny nug, the flavor has definitely improved with a few months cure:

6ZNIvfV.jpg

I broke off half of it and put it in my glass screen stem, no grind necessary. I dropped the temp down to 6 from my normal of 6.5.

Wow, the flavor is out of this world!:mmmm:

It's almost perfume-y it's so aromatic and complex! The nano is still the champ in my opinion when it comes to flavor purity. I've yet to use a vaporizer that allows you to taste the flavor of your flowers or concentrates so pure and untainted.

If any of you ever run across Strawberry Headband I highly recommend it, it is a great strain as far as both flavor and effects!

Keep your hands warm!

I have a great night time strain in my walnut nano, it's an older strain called LA Confidential. One that will put you to sleep. @Vapor_Eyes have a nice evening from the cold Pacific NW. Im ready for spring. 28 degrees outside and approx 385 in my nano? 6.5 on the dial anyway. Just guessing.

Looks amazing! Still so jealous of you folks with dispensaries (Med or Rec), but lucked into some killer Bubba Kush this week. 6.5 on the dial through a nice little bubb and WOWSERS!! Shit is knocking my socks off. That's why many more "likes" and not as much typing from me. Hard enough to read, let alone type, with this killer stuff.

That looks so damned good! 24.6%? Very nice! That would probably lay me out after a couple hits.

That's funny you say that, that's my preferred vaping temp with digital vaporizers, and my preferred setting on the nano dial, 6.5. It's gotta be pretty close to 385° judging by the effects.

Think mine is about the same, at least in winter. Usually I'm at about 6.25 (with same nano performance) when it's over 65 in my man cave.

I'm sampling some more private reserve tonight, I'm making room for some new additions. Tonight it's Blueberry. Nothing too exotic, but it does taste like its namesake. It did when I first got it a couple months ago but it still had a bit of that grassy flavor. Now the blueberry flavor is more prominent and complex.

I dropped my E-Nano down to roughly 5.9. This bud is about twice the size of the Strawberry Headband, still not that large but it's all good. This is it for my private reserve for now. I added two more strains to replace these last two.

The nano produces such amazing flavors so easily, it's fun to see how the flavors develop over time with a proper slow cure. I should honestly be curing my flowers even longer for the best results but it's hard to resist the temptation to sample them.

Well 2 weeks living with the Nano. First week was so disappointing I almost returned it. Could only 1 or 2 good draws and then barely visible, even if turning up the heat to begin cooking the material. Even then, no vapor production. Second week and it was more like it. Decreased the screen depth and moved the silicone sleeve about .75" beyond the top of the screen. Also learned how much herb was needed to massage 5-7 good draws from the bowl. Removed the extraction tube after every draw Without question the vapor produced by the Nano is much more significant than the Solo and equal to the Mighty, and produces a much heavier stone using at least 50% less material. Two negatives of using it. I have extremely limited hand dexterity, and having to stir the bowl a minimum of 3 times is a hassle and always results with some of the green herb getting pushed out of the bowl. The second negative; i will definitely modify into oblivion in the next week or two; is the Nano's industrial duty power cord from hell. This, without a doubt, is the worst power supply cord I have ever saw. I am a retired industrial mill wright, and this cord is ridiculous. I am going to make a power cord that will be more manageable. I do not understand why they would make the elegant and stylish Nano and than use this off the shelf Chinese made industrial power cord. I like the Nano, not crazy about it, but it uses less material while providing stronger effects. I do not find the flavor to be much better than the Solo or Mighty, except for the first draw from a fresh bowl. I hope the cord modification will provide a much more satisfying experience.

Vapes have various levels of extraction based on so many factors and no matter what vape you use, you'll never get every drop of medicine out of your herb. The nano is a very efficient vape and so I end up stirring once per bowl. I usually get 2-3 good hits, one stir and then 1-2 more hits before I call it good. I would agree that 3 stirs is a hassle but don't see the need for that much stirring with my nano.

The cord can be clumsy at times, but it is a small issue for me. I will say that it has stood the test of time. I've had my nano for several years now. I unwrap and wrap up the cord everyday and it continues to function well and have a snug fit in the unit to this day.

No matter what the cord looks like, it is still a plug-in vs a portable unit like the solo or mighty. In fact, it is a pretty mobile plug-in. You can pick it up, flip it upside down on a bubbler, and to some degree, move around while you use it. Try to do that with an herbilizer or a silver surfer.

Some folks have attached some velcro to the cord and tabletop to prevent the cord from pulling it off the table.

Hope it works out for you. I am crazy about mine.

I pack small amounts so I only get a couple hits on average, which means I'm getting that fresh taste very often. Of course that means you might have to pack more bowls to get the same amount of hits, but I find it so quick and easy to fill and empty the stem that it's not a big deal to me having to reload more often, the better flavor is worth it. I'm a microdoser anyways so I don't consume a lot in one sitting.

It also means you can stir less, or even not at all if you use a very small amount. This would help with spilling when you stir.

It seems to me that you are on the right track, keep adjusting and trying different things and you will hopefully fall fully in love with it like most of us have.

From your usage it sounds like you might want to try temp stepping, as it seems you are after more of a session. Start as low as you like, take a couple hits, bump the heat up a notch, wait a couple minutes and take a couple more hits. Repeat this process until you've reached the desired extraction level.

I prefer to use mine more like a one-hitter and keep it pretty much locked at one temp, 6.5. I load small amounts, take a couple hits, and then empty and repeat if necessary. Usually one bowl is enough for me, sometimes I don't even finish it in one sitting.

The nano I thought had a low learning curve. It did take me a couple of days to tune it in to fit my needs. Try different amounts and temperatures to find your sweet spot.

I like a session with my unit and just stir once or twice until my ABV is a medium to a darker brown color. When the flavor is gone so is my session.
Giving your load a stir a half through just will enhance the flavor. Some of the herb that is closer to the screen gets mixed in. About ten minutes and about 10 draws and my session is over.

I take my stem out if I need to go do something then resume my session later. I will even take the cannabis out of the glass because it will continue to cook a little bit.

A good suggestion from @Vapor_Eyes to gradually increase your temp. I don't feel a need to do that but it might work better for you. I like to tailor my units to fit my needs. I get a lot of good ideas from others and use what works for me.

I have bought some vaporizers that I didn't like. Some are still sitting in a drawer.

The nano fits my needs and more. Love the flavor, ease of use and the easy maintenance. No little parts to loose. No big bamboo inside that breaks if it's dropped. The Nano usually will survive a small fall minus the glass stem if that's attached. Sometimes the stems will survive a fall too. I really like the thick glass stem/mouthpieces.

If you want a session use more material. If there is too hard of a draw that means you need to take some bud out. The butt of your stem is too close to the oven or you've packed your cannabis. The nano requires a loose load, it needs the airflow. You can always lower your screen a bit if need be.

It's a balance between keeping the flavor and not to burn your load too quickly. Start off low heat and work your way up.:2c:

A big welcome to all the new nano owners.:leaf:

Oh man! Looks sooooo TASTY! Nice move on the lower temp to increase flavor. When I do this I save those loads for later and mix them 1/2 &1/2 with fresh at higher temps, or more often save that ABV in a separate container then regular ABV to make some real powerful magic milk.

Cord is a thing, and has been commented on many times through this thread. As someone above said, velcro to table works. I used to just lay mine on its side so it didn't flop around. Finally picked up a nano stand when they were on sale recently. Love it and it works great! FWIW, I think biggest reason for the cord used is to keep price of nano more reasonable. These things can be had for real cheap from China, and nicer cords like you are suggesting would probably increase cost of nano at least 10%. nano prices have been about the same for years, so I personally like the fact that Andy keeps them as reasonable as possible.

With some practice, you should notice a good bit of difference in flavor from the Solo or Mighty. They both rely on conduction, which will give you more of a roasty taste than just letting the meds shine through. Start with the screen depth and dial setting you see most using here (you know how to set screen with E-pik, right?). 6 - 6.5 is usually a good dial setting as a starting point. A little lower, and you should notice more flavor. A little higher and you should see larger, denser clouds.

But, don't let it go at that. Try shifting heat and screen depth in small increments to get to where you want to be. I'll sometimes shift mine a little depending on strain and my mood. I also prefer very small loads to get the most flavor, but you can always load more. Bigger/deeper loads will require more stirring, but less loading. It really depends on what works well for you.

A decent stir tool helps a lot. The E-pik is OK, but I have a few others I like a little better. One is a titanium dab tool that has a small flat end (sort of like a small screwdriver tip). The part of a pencap that acts as a pocket clip works really well, too.

How you nano is of course entirely up to you, but a few tips if hand issues and stirring (and a couple other things) are bothering you. You might find all of it a bit easier if you add a few small bowls or lipped dishes to your vape station. Dump your fresh ground (or chopped or whatever) material into one of them. Use the stem like a straw to suck up just a little bit. Give it a quick tamp and you're good to go. I use the flat end of a golf pencil for tamping, but many things will work - like the other end of that pen cap. You don't want to crush it in there. That will cause uneven roasting, create draw resistance and make more of a mess. Just a quick light tamp to keep it all in place.

After a couple hits, instead of trying to stir and keep all in the stem hold it sideways over your second bowl/dish. Let it fall into the dish and kind of scrape it out with your tool. Give it a shake or a stir and suck it back up into the stem. This is especially helpful if you like deeper loads. You don't finish the top (closest to heater) and still leave unvaped material behind.

And, unless your ABV is coffee colored or darker - save it! All kinds of good stuff can be made from it - from edibles to salves. I've made a few different types of salves/hand lotions that make great gifts. Most of the people who really enjoy them don't even vape or smoke. My mom loves it for her arthritic hands, and starts freaking out and calling me for a refill when her little tub gets low enough to see the bottom!

Some great posts in the last page or so to the member who just got their Enano.

I tend to agree with @CarolKing and @flotntoke on most things Enano related.

I have my baskets set for about a .05 g load. I get three good draws from it and stir usually only once. Just depends on how the load looks, might stir again. Since I take the stem off of the heater after every hit and put it into a stand (think chunk of 2 x 4 with a hole in it) the stirring doesn't seem to bother me while I would object to a portable that required that much stirring.

I also run between 6 - 6.5 on the dial, but as has been noted often, these are analog rheostats and are not precision devices so temp for a given setting may be very slightly different from unit to unit.

In one area, @CarolKing don't seem to agree. I also have an EVO, love it, and don't worry about the bamboo breaking. But I love my Enano and it gets a lot of use. In particular, I medicate for pain and sleep and will on bad days leave the nano plugged in over night for a very quick 2 am session so as to be able to go back to sleep. Can't easily do that with many vapes.

As to the cord, it would be nice if they offered a much more pliable cord (think Apple power cords) with a better rheostat but what they do supply works. It can just get a bit awkward. I got one of these and put it downstream of the rheostat and it keeps the damn thing from constantly sliding off of the table which did annoy me a good bit.

To be honest the Malaana took the place in line where my EVO was. I use my Enano the most. Usually I have it on 24/7. I like that the Enano is small and the ease of use plus it's not difficult to maintain. I like the vapor taste it provides and accessories aren't expensive with the Enano either. I leave it on the table out all the time. It just blends in with its surroundings. I use cannabis for medical as well as recreational.

I don't disagree, we just have different needs. Do what works for you. We may have different opinions but we agree on one thing in this thread that the Andy provides us with a log vape that gives us awesome flavor from our fav flower. No bells and whistles but very dependable and something beautiful to look at.

No, I hope I didn't come across as being argumentative either, just we all are different. We seem to agree more than disagree.;) all opinions are welcome. We are all looking for the same thing but sometimes in a different way is all. It's not like politics, if you know what I mean.:tup:

Hi Carol - gee, I sure hope that my mentioning that we differed a bit on the EVO did not come across as my confronting you or being argumentative. I completely agree....we are many and varied and we do both love the Enano.

Cheers and best wishes.

I just recently acquired a used enano through here and I love it. I'm just starting to scan through these postings and from my own experience I'm in agreement that 6.5 is an ideal temp, for me.
I'm using a glass stem with its permanent honeycomb (think it's called) screen and I'll eventually get some extra accessories for it. I have a bit of a log vape collection - a HI, Underdog air core, CRZ, PD, MZ. There's no "better" - they're all slightly different with different characteristics and all of value.

This might sound strange but the one vaporizer that the enano reminds of is the SSV because of the huge milky clouds I get. But it's more comfortable and less cumbersome to use and there's also no or little risk of igniting the product... which I have experienced with the SSV more than once. So I'm digging it immensely.

I'm sure everybody does this but I don't recall reading about it - during a session after a few hits you can see that the load is no longer fluffy but flattened and down. Along with stirring with a whip stir tool I do add extra bud to the load - one or two fingertip's worth. Also, when the glass is cooled I'll put my fingertip over the tip and give it a robust shake as well.

Really excellent vaporizer...

Has anyone been able to find a way to measure the temperature of the air hitting the load, or of the hottest part of the load, while the air is being pulled through it?

Someone sure did, quite some time ago:

Hello fellow Nano lovers,

I would like to share my experience with the E-Nano. I’m not a native English speaker, please bear with me, I’ll try the best I can. Mods please don’t hesitate to change my grammar and spelling if it’s too bad.

So I had some time with my E-Nano and love it so far. Excellent little device.

I was playing around with temp settings and came up with a way to accurately measure the temperature of the airflow right where it hits the herbal load.

From my work background I have access to some fancy thermo probes and I always test my new vaporizers. I love to play around with these things.

For the Nano I built a little GonG adapter with the thermo probe dead center right where the herbs would be, and a bit of cotton to simulate the load. Cotton lets me simulate loose or dense loads without getting me too medicated over time.

I put that adapter on a big bubbler and my Nano on top, giving it long exaggerated pulls, trying to max out the temp of each setting.
“Maxing out” the temp on a purely convective vape is not easy, as the longer one pulls the higher the temp gets. So I had to settle for a realistic experimental pull that I could reproduce over and over again without fainting.

That said, I really went to town on it, trying to find the hottest temps that could be achieved for each setting. I am a relatively big guy and can draw longer and harder than most people I know, so I would not be surprised if someone else could not reproduce the temps I was able to hit.
Therefore I repeated the experiment with different people, trying to find an average temp that is easy to achieve for most.

The airflow (a direct consequence of the density of the load) has a huge impact on the final readings, as can be expected.

To represent different airflow rates and different users, I collected my data in a temp range for each setting.
The lower end representing a temp that should be easy to reach by anyone, even with a loose load.
The top end representing my top temps that I achieved. I would take those as max temps for each setting.

So here are the numbers:

Setting: Temp Range

5: 150-160°C (302-320°F)
5.5: 165-175°C (329-347°F)
6: 180-190°C (356-374°F)
6.5: 195-205°C (383-401°F)
7: 210-220°C (410-428°F)
7.5: 225-235°C (437-455°F)
8: 240-250°C (464-482°F)

Please note the nice linear pattern, and keep in mind those are average numbers out of many many test runs, different load densities and users.

So in theory, given a nice dense and dry load, exaggerated long steady pulls, one should be able to reach combustion on the 7.5 setting. (and IIRC someone here posted something like this)
I myself never combusted in my Nano so far, but I got very close. Obviously I roasted some of my cotton loads a light brown (something that would probably combust some herbs)
If you don’t pack your loads hard and draw for very long I think even the 8 setting should work, for those complete extractions or those very big hits.

All in all I am very happy with the numbers the Nano produced, how quick and reliable the temp changes where, how quick the loads cool off when you stop pulling, how warm the device gets on the outside, how free the airflow is and even how sleek that thing looks and feels.

Thank you Andy for such a nice little thing, and thanks to all for reading. Comments and questions welcome!

That's awesome! I wish I had one of those therm probe GonG adaptors.

Don't E-Nano's vary in temp based on both the outlet they are plugged into (possible even the time of day), and the ambient temperature? The air being pulled over the heater is from the room, so pulling 80F air over the heater vs 65F air should give a different reading, no?

Yep! nanos are sensitive to power fluctuations and ambient temps. Fortunately they're very minor and well within the power nano can provide to overcome them.

I haven't had any issues with time of day, really. Ambient temp shifts of 20-25F will require a turn of the dial of about 1/4 of one full number in the appropriate direction. Different power in can also require a nudge one way or the other - especially for extension cords, surge suppressors and poorly wired homes/overloaded circuits. But, once you get right setting for your particular situation/receptacle it stays constant.

It's really well designed and well made. I like it's shorter warm up time (I'm used to 45 minutes with the PD, etc.) Another thing that I like about it is the slightly narrower radius of the stem; it provides I think a more comfortable yet massive hit. I haven't yet read through all the pages but from my end I find that about 15 minutes is suitable for warmup.

What about keeping it on all night? Is that a good or bad idea?
