As said above me, the nano is simply a heater. If you aren't the least bit careful some nug may touch the heater. Just brush it off. No smell ever.
The glass will smell if you put your nose up to it, but once it cools out, it radiates no smell. A room WILL NOT smell if a Nano and Stem are both out and the stem is cold and unpacked. The nug itself is what smells. That's about it.

Thanks so much! So I guess that's one of the benefits of convection vapes huh? I have a portable conduction vape as well but no matter how much I clean it, it stinks unless I keep it in a ryot case.
Do you know the length of the glass stems? I think I might get a little case to keep them safe during travel.

@horcrux420 You can use the tube that the stem comes to keep it secure as @hafalump mentioned, and just find a box that is the width of the Nano + the stem in the tube. I used a MFLB PA 2.0 box and taped a divider in it. The stems are snug and never move, and same with my Nano and Grinder and GonG. (picture is 2 or 3 pages back). This is, of course, if you wish to use some construction to save some money. Was super simple, it's amazing how things seem to fit perfectly into boxes...

The glass stems from Epic are about 6 inches long. They are pretty thick glass but breakage is possible. If you want a bit less fragile consider one of Ed's TNT wood stems with the metal bowl.
Personally, I seldomly use the stem and prefer the gong through a water pipe. But if you travel, the stem might be easier.
BTW, I notice very little smell from vaping. Even a used gong or stem has very little smell to me. In fact, when I take it out to use it, there is very little smell of anything. Whatever there is, it's 1% of how everything stunk back when I combusted.

Level 6.3 on my NANO through a UFO and a BENDER mouthpiece.

I just picked up some strawberry cough. It does have a little harshness. I heard it was called strawberry coffin, don't know if that's true. It suppose to be for day, it's a heavy hitter if you use too much. Everything is awesome with the nano. Right now I'm medicating with some Blackberry Kush - best flavor of Blackberry Kush that I've had.

About 8 years ago I got a Vrip bong with the Steinel heatgun. My first experience with vaping. Well---broke the bong and back to smoking.
Just got back into it. I've been reading a lot and there's a lot of info to process. I bought a Goboof Alfa as a stealth unit. Works great---does what it's supposed to do.
Most of my consumption is at home and I wanted to get something better for that. I usually imbibe alone and am not a big ripper. With the Alfa--maybe 1 to 2 chambers per evening.
I was looking at the Zion which looks awesome--likely I'll get one in the future.
I took the plunge and ordered a Nano. Seems perfect for my home use. I was looking at the Plenty, but that huge bowl size would be inefficient and wasteful, I think. My priorities are---convection, efficient use of herb, big hits (crazy big aren't important---I see some of the videos and I'd die if I took the size hits that some of y'all do!), and the ability to remove the herb from the chamber. I hate the idea with the Alfa that I'm still cooking if I take 2 minutes between hits.
A question---one thing I don't get. With units like the Nano and Zion---the herb is not supposed to touch the heater screen, right? If you load a small amount (which is recommended) how do you keep the herb up at the stem screen and not falling into the heater screen? On my Alfa I use two screens as recommended--weed sandwiched between the two. I assume that none of you use a second screen? I'm probably missing something basic I guess.

It's all in the reflexes.
Just use the stem horizontally. The nano is very small and easy to pick up and hold that way. Just tamp your material down slightly. I haven't had any problems with material falling on the heater and I doubt you will either. Welcome to the nano-nation.

I just tamp mine down a lil so doesnt fall out or hit the heater..I dont grind either i just shred lil pieces off and then fill stem and tamp it a lil..

Hello Jazzbass and welcome to the log herd. Having done many things wrong with an E-Nano let me assure you that a light packing of the load will work well and even if the load falls onto the screen you are probably going to be just fine. I tried a way too finely ground (dusted) load in a nano and it fell onto the heater with no significant effect. A suggestion, you might want to experiment with small loads like .04g and lower its a good way to stretch you MJ supplies. Good Luck

Hi everyone! I wanted to show how I rigged my bubbler and enano adapter together! I used moldable silicone ear plugs that I purchased at a drug store. I basically treated them like clay and fit it together to make a seal. If you wanted a more permanent solution sugru or silicone clay, which is usually used for mold making, would work great. My best advice would be to make sure you use it on an area that doesn't get hot or come in contact with heat. I'm not too sure if it safe that way, with mine it never gets hot, but makes a great seal for water hits. Plus, I get to use my bubbler again!

Suction & Gravity? If stem is at 45 degree angle (or even pointing bottom up a bit) and stem is properly filled, tamped (ever so lightly) there will be air flow of a temp that melts goodies and leave stems. Lots of folks saying same thing, Curse you old fingers!

I wouldn't bother with a second screen. Even if your herb touches the screen, you'll be fine. Hell, I often pack it right up to the screen, and it's not even the slightest bit dirty. Just get a brush that can stand up to the heat (so something like Storz & Bickel's brushes, not one with plastic bristles) and brush off the screen if anything sticks to it.
As for going less than horizontal, that's fine too. I think it's silly and awkward to use this like the Vape Critic shows (with the stem perfectly vertical), but a little downward of horizontal is fine. I think you're gonna love the nano.

As long as you are not cutting down the air flow too much you are fine. Are you using the stock stem you might consider a configuration that turns the vape upside down, it really helps alleviate the chance of the load falling onto the heater. I'm probably missing out on a B.F. sale but just ordered an e-nano. Fingers crossed for fast order processing, hoping to try it out this weekend. Annoyed with my solo over the year or so I've had it now and looking for an upgrade, mostly in efficiency.

I love my SOLO and use it for my portable needs.
The NANO is a bit more powerful.
Taste wise they're both nice however the NANO is a little better concerning flavor!

When I use the stem I don't hold it horizontal or vertical. It's more of a casual diagonal. 
Don't worry about the herb. It will take care of itself.
The most important thing is to get righteously faded
and enjoy the taste along the way. With some of my other vapes, there was always a chance of charring, but as long as I stay in my nano sweet spot I get the same even heating every time.
Many times, what gets me through the long shitty work day is knowing that I'll have my nano session that evening. For example, I am stoned right now, and it's the first time all day that everything isn't pissing me off.

The cannabis in the stem after heated sticks together. I wouldn't worry about any cannabis falling into the oven. If if does no worries. Hold the Enano whatever way is comfortable for you. I hold mine in a natural position that you would hold any vaporizer.
This unit is so easy to keep clean. Basically keeping the stems clean and a swipe of the inside once a week. I use the stem rotation cleaning method. I have one sitting in ISO and a quick hot rinse after with water is all that's needed.
I have my temp on 6.25 using some kosher kush. Stormy outside but warm and cozy inside with my Enano
