you just solified my decision to buy this thing

yeah, thats the big thing with this decision with the ssv... im totally interested in having a whip, I hate having to always use my WPs, dry hits are good often. However, I've use a direct draw stem with the nano before and it was uncomfortable for me, My lungs are somewhat sensitive. Which brings up another question- if I do macgyver my 2ft silicon whip to this nano, will i have to hold it inverted to simulate being on top of a WP? or can it just sit on the table, heater upwards, and draw? When I used that one like a year ago the owner was making us hit it inverted (which was silly feeling tbh) for he was afraid of combustion. Anyone?
you can easily use two screens and in the middle of the two screen you can place your herb so it will not fall in the heater of the nano if not inverted....

I like the 6.25 setting, just enough to form clouds while still maintaining flavor. In fact, I don't need to turn it up any higher when using on a water pipe.

I just got wrecked using the nano with some kush and a little kief on top. :spliff:

Bump, no wait...wrong thread

I like the 6.25 setting too. It seems to be my go to heat setting. I have had to turn down to 6 or up to 6.50 sometimes. When I use my water tool I go up to heat setting 7 or slightly above.

I have some Platnium Blackberry Kush that I'm rocking in my nano. A clean stem = clean vapor and good taste.

Really glad you west coasters like this NYC '$ finest - me and my bud have been hanging all day.

My opinion on China (if any cares)
Let's face it, none of us are *mainstream* (fuck combustion is not on the avg American mind). I want to buy USA, as much as I can (American cars), but I'm forced to overpay for a weed (albeit talently grown). If I can get a break, sometimes I gotta take it. I'm not even a glass guy - just an opinionated MF'er.
Made in USA is awesome!!!

6.25 is great, for me it's the point where the vapor becomes very visible. And it's always great to have some visual feedback, right?

The thing is, during the day 6.0 can work better, and at night 6.5-7.5 can work best for me. That's the beauty of the E-Nano, and vaping in general. It is great being able to select your desired effects with temperature control.

I might be somewhat unusual in that during the day having no sedative effects is usually ideal and at night I need the painkilling effects of the higher temps.

That's because I use cannabis medically for both physical and mental ailments. During the day I need to fight fatigue, anxiety, and a few other concerns. At night I tend to deal with muscle and nerve pain, with the occasional period of insomnia.

If I could I out just use high temps (or smoke cannabis) all the time I would but it is counterproductive when I need to actually accomplish stuff which is the case pretty much every day of my life.

The nano makes it easy to fit vaping into your lifestyle. Tonight I'm rocking 6.5 with the screen pushed back ~1mm. I think that's probably my new ideal setup. Small loads at a slightly high temp, placed further away from the heater. During the day I drop the temp down.

That's just what works for me. Do whatever works for you, the nano is versatile enough to accomodate your needs...

In the day I sip from the dry stem to keep my buzz reasonable. In the evening I break out the d020-d and relive my adolescence with some awesome bong hits. Nano works however you need it to. My favorite vape in my stable. Nano Nano(Mork & Mindy reference)

I love my blackberry kush. I'm going to start journaling the strains, effect, and the like. Right now, the names really have no meaning to me, as I'm kinda unsure what their attributes are.

That is actually the perfect way to do it, is keep trying different strains till you find what works and tastes the best to you. I'm mostly convinced that the online strain attributes, recommendations, and reviews are so much useless voodoo. I guess if you get enough input you can get a general picture of the strain, but to be honest most of the stuff that is written is just filler and fodder, especially since each strain affects everyone differently. Me and my wife can use six different strains and have different reactions to every strain. There are so many other variables, how it was grown, what genes were expressed in the final plant. If it was seed, you could grow a dozen seeds of the same "strain" and get a dozen different expressions of the parent genes. There are some stabilized seeds, and you can predict the outcomes but it is still no guarantee what someone says what you are buying is actually what you are buying. Even in legal marketplaces there is no regulation on "strains" so if a farm doesn't want to pay the high premiums for "designer" seeds; so they will do their own crossing and breeding and call the product whatever they want. So unless you are selecting and growing your own genetic lines or stock, even a strain that you love from a seller you may never find again even if something by the same "name" shows up.

That's a shame, I'm sorry. You obviously don't realize the work that goes into blowing glass.

Though, due to competition with China glass, most local blowers are forced to sell their products at crazy low prices just to make a living. So quality glass is actually quite affordable if you know where to look.

I dont have a lot of money to throw around. And when i do have an extra few hundres bucks laying about i can think of better things to spend it on seeing how i already have a perfectly working piece of china glass.

I honestly dont care if the slits in my perc arent all perfect or if the mouthpiece is a bit crooked. I dont care how the piece looks. For me glass is glass, function over form.

I've had expensive pieces and they have all inevitably gotten dropped or broken one way or another. I'll take a decent cheap piece over one that costs 5x to 10x as much and spend my money elsewhere that i deem worthwhile.

Nothing better than Vape Mail after a really hard day of working...

Just got the email, my new E-Nano shipped. Getting a Crotch Walnut this time to go with the Maple I've had for a little while now. I'm going to start demoing it to friends when they stop over. Fill a GonG and let them hit it on another piece of glass.

As I've used the Nano over the past couple months. I've found a liking for the fixed glass screens over the adjustable. The glass are so much easier to clean, and getting a new screen in the 14mm GonG is hard for me. Plus there's nothing wrong with an all glass vapor path.

So when people ask what's the best, glass or basket screen. Try both! It's never a bad idea to have extra pieces of glass in case you get a bad case of the oppsies..

Just curious, what stems come with a nano? Obviously a dry stem, but how many gongs? do you get to choose?

The closer the herb is to the heating element, the hotter it will get. I personally like to use a relatively high draw speed which can require a higher temp, so I push the screen back a millimeter or so to make sure the top of the load doesn't get too toasty. I find I get a more even extraction with less stirring versus pushing the screen closer at a lower temp.

Maybe the biggest reason to change the screen position is to use a larger load. You can easily accomodate some fairly large loads this way, although you would miss out on one of the big advantages of the nano. Which is that it can produce great results from tiny amounts of material.

thanks. what would be the difference in the fixed glass screen versus an adjustable one? whats the effect of altering the distance of the herb from the heating element?

Ways to raise the temperature of air through your herb:
turn up the temp knob (duh)
raise the basket screen, brings herb closer to heat
slow your draw

and vice-versa for lowering the temp

Then there's the combination of several variants to give you the right vape session based on types of herb, level of cure or moisture, amount of herb, etc.

You can then add moisture and cool your vapor by using glass. So many methods, oh the joy :spliff:

sick! however, i tend to be a lazier guy and the glass screen sounds pretty appealing to me. how much herb could i fit in there? like i said, I'm all for efficiency on solo sessions but sometimes i have friends over to mulch down some serious mary and I dont want to have to reload every time i pass the little guy. is it possible to have group (2-4 people max) sessions with the nano? you guys are so helpful

I like the adjustable GonGs because I can change the bowl size by simply sliding the screen in or out. This can also be used to have more control over heat.

For groups I would recommend getting several GonGs or stems and keep them loaded on a rotation. The E-Nano heater can keep up to continuous drawing.

I like having the option of either the adjustable basket screen or the fixed glass. I would suggest having both. The fixed glass screen requires a thicker grind if you don't use a screen in the bottom. It's easy to clean without a screen and you use less cannabis. Having the adjustable bowl screen gives you more options far as size of how much cannabis you want to use.

If you have others joining in during your session everyone could have their own personal stem that they are using. The Nano takes no time at all to heat the stem with the cannabis or the GonG.

Edit
If you are new to the Enano I would suggest reading through at least 20 pages or so. When I was waiting for my unit last spring I read through most of the thread. Check out the different little tricks that the nano owners have discovered works for them. Below the chop sticks for adjusting the basket screens are suggested. Many different tips for ease of operation, just read up on our fav log vape. Many suggestions are repeated so its a quick read.

The adjustability factor really does make a difference, and on my 18mm GonG I do keep it a little lower than the fixed glass screen. So a couple more hits, at a little higher temp. Then another hit to clean the screen b4 refilling.

A tip for new users: I keep a chopstick handy for moving the screen depth, anything long and thinner than the end of the GonG works. I use a chopstick simply because I had some maple Japanese (pointy ended) style ones handy when I first got my Nano.

Really for me is the issue of pushing the basket screen into the 14mm GonG. Of course one of the reasons I use this is because of my arthritic hands and 2 out of 3 of my glass pieces are 14mm.

I have one of each type for both 14mm and 18mm. One adjustable dry tube. And a Ed's TNT which I love for early morning vapes at just over 6.

It's variety that makes the world go round!

awesome. ill probably start with just an 18mm adjustable gong then, I'm a student and Geld isn't in huge supply :\. once the screen is in, is it in there solid? One thing i love about the SSV wand is that i can easily just suck up herb out of my grinder like a little vacuum, vape, and when its kicked i can tap it on the side of my abv jar and it dumps right out. Hopefully it is a similar process? i hate having to use a little card or something to funnel my herb into things (I'm looking at you, portables lol). I must sound like a cranky old man by now :myday:.

Yeah, I use my GonG like a straw and suck the herb into the chamber. Clean and simple. Advantage also goes to the adjustable GonGs in this regard. The holes in the fixed-screen GonG are larger and you can suck material through.
