Great stuff! Thanks for re-posting some Joda/nano porn!
My Delta 3D super scoop came today. Many thanks
@Ratchett for getting it out so quickly!!! Haven't had a chance to try it out yet (just grabbed the mail) and probably won't have time to play with it until tomorrow. Will post a quick review after I do, but it does look perfect for the nano and totally cool as shit!!
Fixed glass stem vs. adjustable screens (adjust-a-bowl)... First, see
my post from last week that I think gives a pretty good synopsis and comparison of the two.
Beyond that, most of it comes down to personal preferences. If you have a nano, you should already know how versatile it is (or get to figuring that out if you like). If you're here still thinking about getting one, believe me and the many others through this thread about the almost unbelievable versatility. The difference in screens is really just another tool to increase that versatility.
I strongly prefer the adjustable screens. Not to re-hash the lengthy post I linked to above too much, but quick reasons why: adjustable (duh!), can get load very close to heat, easy to switch out when you're ready to vape and not clean glass or screens, finer "mesh" so OK to grind finer (which I prefer when vaping).
There's nothing wrong with the glass screens (except reports of breakage of some on this last batch), but they don't really suit my vaping preferences with the nano as well as the adjustable ones. I love to tease
@ataxian and others about which is best, but truth be told what is best is up to the user. Arguments about which is truly "the best" are about as worthwhile as those about the best looking wood for your nano, the best flavor of ice cream or best favorite color! And, I wouldn't worry too much about the recent breakage issues. From what we've seen here, Epic is getting right on replacements and I'm sure doing all they can to be sure the issue is eliminated soon (probably already). Andy doesn't make the glass himself, and it seems in his ongoing search for decent, reliable 3rd party vendors to produce them he found a dud.
For those that have trouble keeping up with the thread, I will reiterate one important tip about the glass screens... If you like your grind so fine that you are getting material through it, just put in a small ss screen on top of the glass screen - same as many do with the solo. I find the exact same screens (1/2"? can't recall. I bought more than a 100 of them some time ago), fit in the nano glass screen set-ups. Or, if using a glass screened GonG put another screen in the GonG end (an EQ basket screen works well). IME if you're using the glass screens naked it makes more sense to not grind at all (or grind very coarse), then grind a little while stirring after first hit or two or dump, grind and use remainder in adjust-a-bowl or with an ss screen on top of glass screen.
If you enjoy your nano as much as I do, you'll probably be ordering more accessories - or another nano - before too long. If curious about the other set up than what you already have, pick the other up and try for yourself. You might just find you prefer the other one better! Before adjust-a-bowls I went through this with the older ss screen set up. Would have sworn they were by far the best, but switched mostly to glass screens after a month or so. After that, I stuck with the glass screens until the adjust-a-bowls came out about 6 months later. So, preferences can change too. Doubt you'll get stuck with any you don't like. If you're not a vape and accessory pack rat like me, I'm sure you could sell either on the classifieds for a couple bucks less than you paid - if not full retail price.
