I'm dancing this wonderful morning with "Nano dabs"... I'm using a SS substrate with my JHook.

I have three.. okay, four... ways to dab oil

For fast, right in the middle of my head relief, I use the Health Stone or a regular torch rig
For amazing terpene, clear taste, and quick uplift, I use the EVO
For the same amount of oil to last me all morning, draw after draw after draw, with the same lovely flavor the whole way through, nothing beats the Nano. Nothing.

What medium do you use to vape oil with the nano? Cotton?

@HSIHP I guess it depends on the consistency of the oil you have- I have some homemade qwiso, and what I do is put a tiny bit of ground herb in the stem to just cover the basket, then put a really small bit of qwiso on that, then another small layer of ground herb on top.

This to me tastes amazing, and like the others have said, it seems to just produce vapour on and on and on.

Others use organic cotton, but I have no experience with that I'm afraid.

I have a SS concentrate pad (volcano/plenty) that has been cut down a bit, then smushed into a small wad, which is then sandwiched inside two basket screens. the whole thing sits at the full depth indicated on the EPIC... I have a 14mm glass screened gong I put this in.

First inhale is pretty strong, to blast the oil into a liquid state and embed it in the SS. It's a short draw.
Then, I turn the whole thing right side up, and slowly draw until I get vapor (Nano is upright, gong on top, JHook upside down on top)... there will be a moment when it plumes... draw kinda slowly, which reduces a great deal the amount of "blow by"... expect to be doing this for a good, long, long session.

After letting it cool, you have to prime it again with a couple of draws, until the SS heats up again... then you'll get more vapor.

I still haven't exhausted my original dab I put on this morning. I've only been at it for a couple of hours...

Thanks for this. I just ordered some aromapads and will do this exactly. Just with the incl. stem and no jhook. I still cant get past the weird flavor with cotton.

i have always been a fan of the putting a big fat dab on a little bed of weed method. if you touch the heater to the top of your gong then the dab will vaporize away. you do not need to drop the heater into the gong.

i don't mind if some oil gets stuck in the screen. i do screen resin hits all the time to keep the screen clean. if it gets dabby, all the better, right?

Green goes to brown, n that's what I stand for.
So everyone says the E-nano performs with a miniscule amount of bud, which is TRUE. A few tiny crumbs of ground up bud will give me a mild toasty feeling. Honestly though it performs best with like 0.05 or .1. .1 in there gives some crazy clouds even at a 6.5 after it was idling at 7 for a couple hours. That first drag hit my head like :evil::science:!

Edit:

1.Mix it after a couple hits, perfect toast never too dark. crankin it tp 7 to finish the bowl.

2.I love when the vape makes me sneeze

3. to the mod: to lazy to message you but just so you know I cant insert smileys when editing my post. Not sure if everyone has teh problem or not.

I do remember using the nano with SS wool in the gong being the tastiest way I've ever done concentrates - and my concentrates were terrible back then! Oh how the times have changed!

But I like it!
Hey guys - regarding water tools and bubblers - I just picked up a Blaze Glass piece from a fellow user on the forums. It's worth a check and comes from someone who will actually tell you how much they like or dislike the piece.

Okay newbie question here, but how do you know you're using 0.05 or 0.1. Is there some kind of super small scale that I'm supposed to have? I don't even want to post this question because it just seems so dumb. :)

You need a scale with 0.01g accuracy (or 0.001g if you can afford one!). Most normal scales can only go to 0.1G which is not accurate enough to measure the size loads we're using

I recently upgraded to a more precise scale (bought a calibration set to confirm the readings) - so cool seeing what so little material can do!

I cried last night when I watched my friend at a LAN party pack up his combustion bowl with huge chunks of gorgeous bud. He literally packed what I use in two DAYS of heavy use with my Nano!

I prefer to go small as possible and load more often for a typical sesh. I try to load two good hits and one finisher most of the time. Subsequent hits can be OK, but the first two really rock IME. I use about 6.25 - 6.5 with just enough to cover the screen x2 and very close to the heating element. Do two hits, stir, and slowly hit the third just to be sure I didn't miss anything. Take a 4th if plenty of vapor on third (not too often). Dump, repeat.

Eh, you don't unless you get a really high tech scale, and even then could be a real pain in the ass. For me it's easier to figure I get about 10 - 20 small loads out of about a gram. That converts to about .05 - .1 per load. I think best to gauge by how much you vape at your preferred temp and what effects you're looking for than by weight. Who cares the specific weight other than for comparison here or if you are seriously trying to budget your stash? I go by the first 2 are the best 2 hits, and try not to leave too many actives in the abv. So, if I can get 2 good hits, stir, then one OK hit on a slow draw before dumping, I figure I'm where I like to be.

When going lower heat and saving abv for higher temp later I add a bit more to the load, do two and dump from there. Then when I use that later at higher heat (with a bit of fresh mixed in), I load bigger, stir every two hits, and keep at it until it goes popcorn or isn't producing visible vapor.

Also, sometimes change it up a bit for use with a friend or if I'm trying tot get zonked for a nice deep sleep.

Honestly I just buy a gram at a time so I can somewhat gauge how much I'm using. I'd love to get a super accurate scale. Might consider the one above. It's really not necessary tho on second thought.

Happy day! My curly koa that had been lost in the mail has been returned by a kind neighbor who received it along with her other packages.

It is really just so beautiful and Hawaiian Koa is particularly meaningful in our family, so much that my wedding ring is also inlaid with curly koa. Thanks Andy! I feel like I own a masterpiece that will last my lifetime and beyond.

Also, I once had to calibrate and certify extremely sensitive balances when I was an analytical chemist. There's a bunch of complicated sciencey stuff that and uncertainty principles that matter when calibrating a scale mounted on a vibration free table inside a draft proof box. I'm short, the universe doesn't want us to ever be certain that our scale is accurate. And the more sensitive your scale, the better it is at detecting and displaying the universe's dirty tricks.

But that universal weirdness really doesn't matter to us at home. I have a $5 jeweler's scale that displays to 0.01g. I'm using a very fancy set of official US Government issued calibration weights: a penny and a nickel. A new zinc core penny weighs 2.500g. A new nickel weighs 5.000g. Use more coins to check higher masses.

Whatever your scale displays, either ignore or round the last decimal. It's not useful because of that tricky universe. Decide what is good enough so your don't complicate anything unnecessarily.

So in celebration of the lost sheep piece of Koa wood that had been found after being lost in the USPS twilight zone this past week, I took a homecoming glamour shot.

@ChippyMalone it looks beautiful and nice glass! That is a great pic and love the knife......but...I am afraid you might break something with it attached to your e-pic. Mine is not attached to anything and I have not...will not lose it......I hope.:2c:

I noticed that the glass stem which came with my e-nano, has a silicone or rubber grip on it. it's about 1 inch up from the bottom of the glass. Is this the correct location? I ask because I've seen many pics of the dry stems with the rubber grip located at the very bottom of the glass. It makes me wonder if I'm possibly using it incorrectly (that it should be moved).

Can anyone confirm?

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

Well, I thought they were there to keep you from burning yourself on the hot end. So I just cut them off.
But perhaps they are supposed to help steady the stem?
Doesn't seem to be a problem so far and looks better too.
