how long do your dry sessions last? i manage to get 2 good first hits, then it dies down from there, just taste hits after but not really effective as the first 2?
My dry loads usually go at least 5-8 decent hits. The first few do taste the best, though. Keep in mind all of the variables at play here - not the least of which the quality/stickiness of your meds. IME taste falls off long before effectiveness, so you may be feeling it - just not realizing it because it doesn't taste quite as sweet. For most of us it takes a few minutes (5 or 10) for all that goodness to seep into our brains. If you can handle the temptation, take 2 or 3 good hits and leave it alone for 15 minutes. To see if the later hits are effective, turn the heat off and leave that same load alone until the next day (torturous as it would be!). When totally sober, heat the nano, stir the load and take 2 or 3 hits. Wait the same 15 minutes. It won't be as tasty or quite as effective as the first couple - but you'll probably see what I mean.
If you're in the mood to play a bit and want to really get all you can in effects, try this... Load a pretty good sized load (2 - 3x a 2 hit). Turn you heat down at least one notch from where you usually hit it dry. Take a couple hits and savor the flavor. Stir and take another. Kick the heat up a setting and let it warm while you stir again. Give it a minute to heat up and enjoy the hell out of it. You should be able to get a few more good hits. If you're up for even more and like to be left with dark ABV, stir and kick it up even another notch.
Hey since we are talking water filtration, here's a question: Does using the E-Nano at an angle make a difference? I'm thinking of getting a piece that has an angled joint and just want to make sure it's not a problem. I could custom order it with a 90 degree joint instead but am thinking it's better to have flexibility for future vaporizer purchases.
On bubblers, I used to use a 22.5 degree angled piece all the time and have used a 45 degree, too. Have never noticed a difference in heating, taste or affect.
If going dry make sure you pack the load down pretty good, or don't turn everything upright. Makes a mess and sucks to watch your stash hit the floor! 90 degrees seems to work best for me. Keep it parallel to the floor or the nano tilted a bit higher (vapor going downhill).
I have a piece that's got a bit too much diffusion for the nano, but has been working all right. It's got a 45 degree joint, but it sits in my lap at an angle such that the nano is pointed straight up anyway; think of it as a 12" glass tube being held like a clarinet. Feels fairly stable.
Something all should remember if bubbler/water pipe shopping. More diffusion generally = less flavor. Not a bad thing if you have swag or are revaping ABV, but I try to keep as much taste and add just a little moisture to allow for better hits and no irritation at all. So, while all of the cool glass diffusion monstrosities look fun, most will rob your taste. Saw the D020 mentioned above. This or the D020W (still a favorite here!) have very simple diffusion. Tube into water with some simple slits. Plenty to give some moisture and cool the hit. Keep the water as low as you can while having it bubble/fire as it should. And, hit it slow and steady until you clear. Not quite as flavorful as low-temp dry hits, but pretty damned close IMO and you can vape much larger clouds and enjoy longer sessions.
I've read many places on FC that recyclers can give plenty of diffusion and still retain flavor. Haven't bought one myself yet, so remain a bit skeptical about this. Hopefully someone else can confirm either way.
