Pardon me for being too lazy to search through all these pages, but will someone please give me detailed instructions on how to use my nano for concentrates? Apparently you are using ss wool somehow

Also what is your dry stem vape setting vs your water vape setting? For herb

I feel like I am using mine a lot higher than most of you but maybe it's because I'm not a dry guy

@herbivore21 is our resident expert/pioneer on the concentrate front. Here is a vid of his with detailed instructions from a few pages back:

Even though wax is used to demonstrate the method, I have found that thinner concentrates and oils work equally as well. When using the thinner stuff, you may want to use a dab of cotton as a water tool drip barrier inside the bottom of your gong, just enough to stop a little mess just in case.

You really should learn to use the search function. It's easy, and there aren't too many questions asked these days that haven't been answered repeatedly.

But fortunately for you, your question is best answered by a link that shows up a few times on every page. Check out the link in @Caligula 's sig for his video playlist. He's made a few vids that have to be the best concentrate tutorials ever - for the nano, or any other method.

You may want to use steel wool or a pad instead of cotton, and think there is a vid of each in that list somewhere. Don't want to take anything away from @herbivore21 , but IMO Caligula is the king of nano vids & concentrate vids - especially tutorials. herbivore21 is certainly a close second.

EDIT: @Caligula , didn't mean to steal your thunder! Was surprised to see my links come up as vids in the post. I'll get this fancy posting shit figured out eventually. Hope you don't mind.

Yeah.. that kind of sucked. I looked for it for quite awhile when it was down too, but fortunately (and surprisingly) was only for a few days.

The search function works great if you have a search term more than a few letters.

Didn't really mean to call you out specifically... Just wanted to put it out there again for all to see. Probably just me being a grumpy old man again, but peeves me how many people (not you on this one!) pop on and ask the simplest of questions, some that have been answered more than 20 times in this very thread!

Anyone who can use google at all should have no problem using the FC search function. And IMO, if you can't use google, you ought to head back to the card catalog at your local library and quit taking up FC page space and bandwidth! :nod:

Really @blankrider , not getting on you for your question. Definitely a legitimate one, and if you missed those vids when posted here I totally get it.

This concludes my grumpy old man rant of the week. :myday: Carry on!

chillin on the couch, sippin off a 22 ounce.
Paired up the Nano this evening with an old school Mad Rob 10/10 arm bubbler... was defintely one of, if not THE, best vapor bong seshes I've had in a looooooong time! These two are absolutely made for each other. The Mad Rob has a nice amount of pull to it despite its arms purring away unlike most tree percs which fire around at a much lazier pace. It's a rare event when my OG Cloud gets bested by anything else.

So here's the thing with QWISO. It seems that you need to keep the wash times super short. no more than 20-30 seconds at a time. Freezing material and alcohol is an absolute must, but prior to this herb should be dried in an oven at 93c (even properly cured buds for smoking still have 15% odd water content, that water will drag all kinds of plant stuff into your concentrates).

@PPN I never could get anything but runny black oil before either with QWISO, it is a real artform to get it right, but fuck do I feel stupid paying 8x as much for ethanol when I have just produced better shatter than I've ever made with QWET before!

My heat distribution was always a bit off centre. The heat always concentrated toward the neon side of the load, so I thought I'd try taking off the heater screen (I don't recommend it). Heat distribution became worse, so I just dodgily added my own screen again and here's what I ended up with.

As you can see the heat concentrates on one side. Now I did leave a black mark on the heating element when I decided to remove the screen, because my drill bit broke off.. So that possibly did some damage and because of that, I will cover any cost of sending it back in for repair.

Reason for the post is to be reassured that this isn't right and that the heat distribution is definitely not normal before I have to part with it. Because eventually this thing still gets me high, just seems to take ages to do a load.

I posted an Ebay link a few times earlier in the thread where you can get a pack of 4 'pads' for approx $7+ shipping ($10US total if you're in US). They will last you a very, very long time.

While I can't do the awesome tutorial vids that @Caligula does, and I can't show my material in my vids for security reasons... I mean I am using only legal essential oils like lavender. But, you know. :)

But if you watch my vid I tried to show steps, you can see one of the SS wool pads with a little corner cut out. That's enough for one nice, size tight plug for the Enano gong. And you get 4 of those pads per that $7 pack. And each plug you make can last you weeks/months (depending on usage and qaulity of oils) and they can be ISO cleaned if you wish.

And the last photo is looking down the 'barrel' of the gong at the SS wool 'bed' where you drop your oils (I use a Ti pick with the oil on the tip and lower it down into the gong till it touches the wool, then give the pick a quick blast with a jet lighter and the oils slide off the end into the SS wool.

Also, I recommend once placing your E-nano in the loaded gong to wait about 4-5sec before starting your pull to let the gong/substrate heat up a bit but thats just my practice and your results may vary.

That's the way brother! Nice clouds! I have been trying to stay away from shatter this morning lol, the combination of learning to make QWISO shatter and just getting my new Persei and a ti nail and new GonGs for my Nano mean that I went a little oil crazy! :science:

Hey what is it in your bubbler water that makes it get that pink hue? @canj00digit?

I really want to get my hands on some ti gr2 pads after using them in my herc with the persei, the nano too needs the power of titanium! :D
