Hi everyone...Ive been skimming thru some of the pages here...looking for my first plug-in..I have 3 portables, but they just dont take me where I want to go.I like that the E-Nano heats up quick, and looks easy to use. The hi is a year waiting list and the ud takes a little longer to heat up, is there any other differences?
What accessorys would I need to go along with it? Best type stem,,did Ed tnt ever make a wood one for these? I would also like an aromatherapy bowl...do i need to order that from the ud site? and if I used it would it change the taste of the unit?
All i have is a small 14mm bubbler and the pnwt..would i need to buy something to attach those? That D020 looks nice lol.. I have never used a plug in so be gentle
Quickly.... nano is AC power. Not exactly sure if this is the entire reason, but heats quickly and maintains temp easily. Also, simple dial to control heat level - no adjusting volts as with other log vapes that are DC. Also of note, think all UD's are pricier (and variable voltage power supply adds a few more $) AND last I checked, the HI waiting list is at about a year.
EDIT: Just occurred to me... think both UD & HI use silicone. I much prefer the straight glass to heating element connection. I know good silicone is supposed to hold up with the temps, but I've only bought the best (Tygon). When right on the element it has bit of a taste, and not too comfortable with the way it discolors. Should be OK, but I don't like it. Not like silicone manufacturers are producing it with vapes in mind. Don't think I've ever seen it brought up in this thread, but this is definitely a benefit of the nano!
Stems... matter of preference. Most like the "pinch" stems. They're awesome with the newer basket screens. Some prefer the stems with glass screens built in. I use both regularly, but if your grind is fine some will slip through naked glass screen. An old beat up ss screen takes care of this problem. No aromatherapy cup currently available, but the UD one is reported to work fine. Am sure you could use a GonG adapter and piece of cotton drizzled with your aroma oil, but don't think I'd want so vape through it without a really good cleaning.
If you use glass at all, you'll want to get at least one GonG stem. They come in both screen configurations and both GonG sizes. I usually go with 18mm pinch type, but use my glass screened one sometimes too. If most of your glass is 14mm, I'd suggest getting that size. Even if you pick up 18mm bubbler, an adapter to go from 14mm > 18 is more streamlined. (D020 is awesome and 18mm, BTW) Or, better yet...pick up GonGs in both sizes to use as you like.
The small glass GonG does get pretty hot in use. So, for really smooth use you may want a cloudbuddy/cloudpal or a simple M > F adapter to grab onto easily while clearing. There are other ways around this too (like using the epic to lift), but these two seem to be the easiest. The simple adapter works fine for me.
