It's most definitely Vongsday today. Stays cool, easy center section spin for smooth heating. Lots to like, and many thanks the sale-poster.

😏 Seems to be a bear to disassemble / thinking about padded pliers, as my right hand's not great.
Did read "hold top, pull and turn bottom," but nothing moved yet...

Nice, the tip looks normal I hope? Yeah mine takes a good bit of force to take apart also.

I think what you might be thinking of is Cannon Plug Pliers , they make smaller ones too. You can just use something like electrical tape to wrap the surface and then just don't use an excessive amount of force w ordinary curved jaw pliers.

It appears to be totally normal, no hazing or marks. Ah, it's been used. Now. I'll shoot and get a few pix up. The packaging was a surprise; just the wood case. It does NOT fit in either Futo stash; just a tad bit tight. Going to (slightly) drill out a Levated stash box. Still have to learn technique, every one of these things and their combinations are different. Does have great feel. Already considering a mouthpiece, apparently doable? Preferring slightly longer. My fingers are fumbly.

Oh. Had trouble getting it working. Got it working big time. Yes.

Hopefully this will shed some light ... New plain Ti Vong, with applewood and tigerwood Futo cases. Also a B-tip, which might be helpful for me.

Ti tip looks ok, I think. I see now the tip is slightly crooked, didn't jam it in straight. Heat curve is more challenging with the Ti tips, IMO.

Hmmm, the tip looks similar to mine actually IMO. I see the same rough unfinished look with marks in the sidewall grooves. Maybe they just did some batches like that. Unfortunately Dynavap told me to go ask the place I bought it from and have not responded to my request for comment on my pictures. No response from Element Vape yet either.

Finally field-stripped Vong (I) used a little wax in reassembly. There's a Dynavap video, too. I immediately added a condenser and mouthpiece from an M, which gives great feel and balance... No, the SS doesn't match but I've got the point five SS tip on the front, so it balances. 😉 Planet 13 had $13 jars, so it was a decent day. Especially dinner, Hunger's good.

Are the newer ti tips like halo and helix better than original 5 fin ti? What should be my first entry into the world of titanium?
The Helix offers a bit more airflow and therefore a slightly better flavor. I find the Helix much nicer visually than the 5fin. But the 5fin is still very, very nice, of course. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the Halo.

The Halo is kind of like an updated 5-fin, I think. It is a little more forgiving and it transfers less heat to the stem. I think both are upgrades, tbh, though the Helix is more special because of the difference in airflow whereas the Halo is more standard, but improved.

I don't consider the difference between the 5fin and Helix to be huge, but it's noticeable. In my opinion, it depends more on the cap. I highly recommend the Helix with the low-temp cap! However, if you can get the 5fin at a significantly reduced price, I would always go for that.

I like the Helix with the perforated cap, it's an entirely different DV experience. Caveat: it works best with a torch. The combo needs a good heat-soak and it'll produce clouds of vapor.
