I got my first Vapcap around Christmas of last year and took to it almost immediately. The first one I got was a Darkwood Ti OmniVong XL, followed a Shadow M a few days later. After finding this site and Pipes induction heater, I went on a bit of a buying frenzy in early January.
That frenzy resulted in me receiving a Portside Mini (thanks @Pipes), two custom stems (thanks @Ed's TnT), parts for said custom stems, a Blackwood NonaVong and replacements for broken and defective parts from Dynavap all within a period of about 7 days. It was a pretty fun week.
Like the folks over at Dynavap, I also am fond of things that serve multiple functions, so I thought I'd show off my goodies and offer up a new logo for the forum (apologies if this has been done already)

On another note, for those of you keeping track of these things, I noticed what I think is a snapshot in the development of the Vong stems.
I'm not sure if this has been covered in one of the Dynavap videos, but as mentioned, I purchased a Darkwood OmniVong XL, which is the current model being sold (pictured at top), the stem in the middle is my broken Blackwood stem (sending this back to Dynavap shortly) and you can see that the carb hole and logo are pretty much identical to the Darkwood. The stem on the bottom, is the replacement sent to me by Dynavap for the broken Blackwood stem, and I believe this is an older model as the carb hole is about half the size of the other two, and the Dynavap logo is about double the size and in a different location:
The other thing I noticed was that my Darkwood stem has slightly rounded edges particularly around the tip end, and the edges along the body are a lot smoother than either of the Blackwoods as if they've been sanded down. I much prefer the feel of the Darkwood, the difference in feel when holding them is subtle, but noticeable. The odd thing is when I look at images of the current Darkwood Nona and OmniVongs, they look more like my Blackwood stems with the sharper edges, so I'm not sure if mine is a one-off. Can any other Darkwood owners comment?

I have a couple of questions if anyone can help. I just got my Shadow M and did a couple of dry run burn offs. I vaped a few bowls even a whole bud. I am not getting tasty hits at all. Taste like, taste like not that good at all. Nice hits though, it got me plenty high. But I was hoping to get a taste like I do on my Fury 2. Not a 330 or 350 degree turpy taste, but even at 385 my Fury 2 taste incredible. I thought someone changed my bud out with some mid grade stuff. Please help! Do I need to take apart and clean or use it to season in the taste. If that makes any sense? I would appreciate any help or advice. I have been on the road 12 hours today, so I'm going to sleep. I know it's Friday night and only 9:30 but I'm an old man. I will check the forum tomorrow. One last thing, I have a taste in my mouth. It is like I smoked some green homegrown when I was a teenager.

I've enjoyed some fuller flavours with my OmniVap (XL titanium) by heating closer to the tip, which results in a lower bowl temperature.
It's also helpful to get some idea of when your click typically happens, and to take your first draws before the click. Your own click time is determined by the rate at which you spin the unit, the type of torch you're using, the area on the cap to which you apply the flame, and the angle at which you apply the flame.
I think that both on-demand and session vaporizers each have inherent strengths and weaknesses, and that the trick is to figure out ways to elevate the former and mitigate the latter.
I don't think that my DynaVap will manage to provide the same rich flavour as my Mighty – but, then again, I can't get my Mighty to spin as gracefully as my DynaVap during the heating process.

Thanks John. I just took apart my Shadow M. A quick iso bath, and then soapy water. Rinsed in hot water and will let dry. Going to give it a shot again in the morning.

dry it yourself! We’ve been through this here before
I've usually just put my parts leaning up on a towel, so water would run down to the towel. Then after everything is on the towel I'll blow air through the parts and to try to get more water out or off. Then I usually heat it up once or twice without bud in it, it sizzles alot, then I pack my tip up with bud and enjoy the wonderful taste from my clean VapCaps. Seems like they are always dry after that.
But just wondering why you say dry it yourself? Could the parts possibly rust if you don't?

I love what DynaVap has done, so for the most part my focus will be on DynaVap compatible parts and accessories. I am not retired from my daily duties so I will be hard at it in my spare time, so when I do release something it will be in limited quantities. I have design ideas brewing and I will possibly be available for custom work within my limits in the future .

Meanwhile, I'm falling in love with the 'shadow M' that I got almost two weeks ago during the 2nd Athens Cannabis Expo that took place over here in Greece. Lots of CBD legal vaping in the expo premises that really impressed me. That's some improvement on the cannabis legalization project, I must say.
Anyway, back on the 'shadow' now, this little devil hits really hard... harder than the very first M that I also own.
Of course, how could I not mention my new 'toy' that I recently came across with and I must say that am really impressed with it.... a single flame Clipper lighter that is so well-build and reliable... I've found them locally in a tobacco store that I buy my Colibri butane from. Imagine that the owner of the place still repairs lighters even if they're sold from him and his comments for this little thing were very very positive and so far he's damn right all the way...and it matches the shadow so smoothly.. the flame is really solid and non-flickering plus the fact that it never 'stomps'.. no matter how many consecutive times you hit the button the flame will always light flawlessly...!!

Least but not last, heating with a single flame is giving you the full experience I think.. the tastes that you're getting are more intense when you need to torch the cap for few more secs for that click.
Speaking of which, I've noticed that the 'double-click' is far clearer with a single rather than with a triple or quad flame.. Anyone with a similar view on the flame issue?

Well I just tried it again and I still don't like the taste. I heated up at top and middle with a single flame torch, got a few nice size hits. Two hits per heat cycle. The taste is just not there. I was expecting better taste though. Definitely feel the effects, don't want to bash this device at all. But I think I will stick with my Fury 2. I really wanted to use this as a quick hitter to stop smoking cigarettes completely. Like a quick hit when I wanted a cig. Well thats it, I wouldn't go on and on. I'm just felling a little disappointed. I will keep on practicing though.

I think it's because the Fury is mostly convection, while the vapcap is mostly conduction. They are completely different tastes. The vc does taste to you me like I smoked a joint w/o the taste of the disgusting burning rolling paper. Not bad, but not the best flavor. Convection will give you a purer taste. So it appears that your preference may be or may lean toward convection type vapes.

Sorry if i make a mistake, but i have the idea that the VC is mostly a convection vaporized (acording George words, the air is heated when cross the hot cap). A bit of conduction, but definitly a convection vap...

You are physically heating the outside of the the bowl with a torch.. the bud is inside the bowl.. the bowl is cookin the herbs. There is some convection. But try holding the cap in tweezers and heating until it clicks, and then put it on a loaded tip and inhale. Nowhere near the same.

Dry burn off is DEFINITELY not enough. Mine was still returning filthy q-tips after a hot soapy soak. That could explain the off taste.
Regardless of convection or conduction, the first hit at least should be a beautiful tasting terp hit, so if it isn’t and your piece is clean, the culprit is either your heating technique, or your material.

After further research, (damn that was fun too). I have about twenty caps in my collection, and only one launches my VapCap. So it is the amount of foot pressure on the peddle of the crimper machine.
I got in the best "Sherlock" I have ever used. Of course it's "Anhydrous". It's a TAG, nice and thick. Doc
