Continue to be very impressed with my new M. Apart from dog walks (for which I use my arizer air) I've been using it exclusively since I got it last Wed and have had nothing but positive results with it :tup:

Small to zero learning curve, and have pretty much dialled in the torch use/where to heat the cap for hotter and cooler hits etc.
I do need to grab a couple of more torches though. Have been using single jet honest lighters that I use for my lotus, and mainly the larger GB2001 torch that I usually use for the supreme.
Actually find I have better results with the bigger torch tbh, prob as it'll heat the cap quicker I guess...

Anyway, I'm not sure what it is exactly but I'm quite taken with this tiny, simple, but very effective device... and can see now why it gets so much love.

Managed to snag a straight, double crowned cocobolo body in the last few hours of The Hedonist Club's 420 sale, which I intend to build an Omni with, as I understand they won't be made anymore. I had my eye on a Blackwood crowned straight stem, but dithered too long and someone (maybe here) beat me to it... and so it begins...

Found a 18mm self stand J hook from BakeBros for $12 free shipping:o, and got a newest model of Honest triple torch from night market for only US$3:o, my Jobon triple torch was "arrested" at the airport when I come bk from Japan, this one is a good replacement.:D

I think it would be a great idea if there were a way to do it, but it is going to take a really good idea. There are lots of situations where the click will be overwhelmed by ambient noise and if you can't feel it you have to guess. The good news is that you can get pretty good at estimating readiness, but something visual would help a lot in many situations.

When the cap is at it's "OFF" state (cool) the tiny hole at the bottom of the cap is open.
When the bimetallic disc(s) snap ,the the "nipple" of the "outer" disc ,"sticks-out" into the tiny hole and seals it ,but also provides a visual feedback ,since now the tiny cap hole is closed and the disc's "nipple" can be seen ,through the tiny hole that has been sealed.



A rough idea for a visual feedback ,without having to alter cap manufacturing dramatically .

So, I think I have figured out what is happening here, at least to my own satisfaction. :uhoh:
The ID of the stems you are using are narrow enough that there is no way for the air to FIND another path. The sucking volume (I know you guys hate negative pressure) you get at the mouthpiece overwhelms the chamber and it needs to source gas from wherever it can get it. The air hole would have to be HUGE to be the primary source of gas your sucking power needs.
If you were using a bigger tube, say the size of DVs plastic shipping tubes, the air from an inhale could find the direct path to the air hole and cause little or no negative pressure at the tip much more easily, and the science would work as expected.
At least that is what I believe and I'm sticking to it... :o

For anyone who is thinking of trying my trick making glass stems with 10mm OD and 8mm ID: I recommend against it. They don't seem to be able to take the heat. Especially for Sip & Dip-I broke 3 over the past 5 days. If you're going to give it a go-I'd suggest 12mm OD and 8mm ID. It seems like those would have a better chance of survival.

Does anyone else love cleaning day like I do? I seem to do it on either Sundays or Mondays, or as I like to refer to it, musician's weekend. But I had a 15 hour day yesterday so today is cleaning day.

Everything is clean as a whistle, my Omni XL is waiting for my Ti stem to arrive, my Carbon Fiber stem is waiting for an XL condenser and spinning Ti mouthpiece to arrive, and my loaner PP stem is cleaned waxed and put away for shipping. :rockon::buzz:

Now just waiting for my green package to arrive in today's mail as scheduled.:nope:

Me too; not just cars! I'm the nerd who reads the literature provided on pretty much everything. My wife thinks that I am the only one, but it seems logical to me.

I'm honestly very glad there are so many logical, scientific method-applying, get down to the physics, nerdy stoners in this thread and FC in general. I've learned more about the why's and wherefore's of our fascinating hobby because of good people like @Dynalowrider and @stardustsailor and you being able to explain things in different ways and dumb it down enough for a dummy like me.

Nice to see new faces and some well-known avatars trying a vapcap for 4.20! Such an amazing vaporizer!

@cybrguy & @pxl_jockey :wave:I'm a manual reader too. It drives my family nuts when they give me something at Christmas that has a manual. I open that first. I like to know how the manufacturer suggests I use the device I bought from them. It avoids a lot of unnecessary problems. And I'm a nerd. I dig details.

I love reading liner notes in albums too-I learned so much from them over the years. The manuals and liner notes often-times include backstory, and I love back-story. I love to know how things work and how things come into this world. It's fascinating.

And sometimes it's funny as shit to read a manual written in English by someone for whom English is not their second language.

And as you can see from my post that I couldn't wait for my green package to arrive before I indulged. I just had about .07g of Blue Dream in my '18 M. Wow-that is one sweet little vape. Regardless of price, but at $60 + a heat source-what a frickin' value. Personally I can't wait until they offer the '18 M tip as a part. I'll get at least another two or 3. Perfect for vongs and it shines for "Sip & Dip".

Hey, no worries. :)
In truth there are LOTS of people who have no interest in understanding how things work, they just want to use them. Computers are the best example in my world, as I often have to help folks who are using them because "It's the only way my grandchildren will communicate with me" or some other external motivator. Learning under duress is never easy but learning something you have no interest in is almost impossible.

I have an inquiring mind and I can find almost ANYTHING interesting. I really like understanding my world when I can.

Other than women, who are unknowable and I have given up.

Agreed. Due to the difference in the coefficients/rates of thermal expansion, it would be more robust
To have walls a bit thicker, 1mm=>2mm. :tup:

The metal expands, while the glass remains cool.
