Just wondering but do the Ti woody and Omnivap have any glass bits to break? Tempted to upgrade from my OG if they don't :)
There is no glass in the ti woody. My omni - which is an old one- has some glass but the glass can be replaced with a different body that it came with. None of the dynavaps other than the glass ones are fragile. They are one of the most sturdy portable vapes I own.

I change my filter every 3-4 weeks. You can tell its ready to change when you suddenly get a deterioration of taste in your vapor. The filter will be very crisp and fragile at this point.

Here is a post on making a degummed hemp fiber filter. Enjoy!

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/dynavap-vapcap.18853/page-295#post-1034430

EDIT: It's seems that there is some interest in the hemp filter. So I am including some info from my experience with the CCD hemp filter sandwich.

Installing the filter.

Take off the cap, put your first screen in the bowl and take a chopstick or pencil (anything that fits inside the herb chamber) or even the condenser and push it to the bottom groove. It will click into place. Then pop in the fiber disk. As you place the second screen into the bowl, gently push it into the second groove. You can push it tight against the first screen, but I like the filter to remain uncompressed and this takes a firm but controlled and gentle pressure.

Removing the screens:

Removing the two screens and filter requires some force. Take a metal rod like a narrow nail punch and a hammer. Place the tip chamber side down. Put the nail punch into the back end of the tip and gently tap with a hammer.

The first time I did this, I used the condenser and I ended up slightly deforming the end of the condenser. It still works OK, but still, use something else to force the two screens out of there. If the screens get mangled, just flatten them out with the hammer.

Enjoy!!!

Can we get this as a sticky.

@Winegums I've looked at those Unimat's before, nice piece of kit.
Metal lathe is my next big purchase it's just trying to get one that doesn't look Heath Robinson designed.

As for the Accessory account I'm with alltoreup, you'll get plenty of encouragement from the community and @VapCap loves seeing where other people are taking the VC.

@herbalist33 Not got a Sherlock but I have been looking at this in a different light since we spoke the other day.
Antique Chibouk, it could well be another nearly 100 year old piece. I can see a triple adapter getting done for it.
I'll take the 5th on whether or not it has been used in the past. Been in my possession for 30 years.

And as a trial piece for a piece for a @Hogni request this piece of acrylic will be seeing a bit of chisel action today. It's got a fantastic iridescence to it.

For any folk out there wondering about the new, new tips. 4th gen. RHS one.

Is the extraction more slow with the v3 tip?

Wanted to say thanks to Vapefiend because I ordered my Omni yesterday and it arrived first thing this morning. Very fast delivery. First impression of the Omni is I love how it feels. It's weighted beautifully. I wish I could pack a bowl and vape but I'm off to a Techno rave and having herb before is not a good idea lol I was really looking forward to going to the rave until the Omni arrived, now I have to wait till tomorrow :(

Another quick thing for anyone in UK looking for a lighter I can't praise the Maxim enough. It was £8 from ebay, I also ordered that yesterday and it arrived today also. It feels as if it was meant to be lol It's a 3 jet flame and its nice and discrete and heats the cap in under 6secs. I have had a few dry runs using the Omni and think my love affair has started.

I ordered a few extras from Dyna, such as Vong, CCD'S, O-rings and hemp fiber. That should keep me going for a while :)

Now just have to wait for my Underdog to show up...

Talking about lathes.. I've narrowed it down to the fact that I need to drop about $5K on some Sherline workshop. First need to make a million bucks and get a bigger house though. I can hardly fit another screwdriver on my desk/workshop/lab/office/store-room/million kids toys I still need to fix pile... BUT I GOT MY VAPCAP SO I'M STILL HAPPY :D

Hi @phattpiggie

Yeah, give it a try! Next week I will buy all the blanks for you and my phosphorescent hybrid blank for a psychedelic VonG. Combined with this cap engraving it will be a psychedelic large attack! ;)
This device will ask for some real psychedelic Sativa - you'll get a lot of it babe!!

And there will come many "serious" sophisticated b/s/mp to me from pp aside of this piece :)

Guess, I'll not have much to eat the next months after paying all my orders at DV and pp :hmm: :mental:

Anyway!

Here's a post that will explain all the parts in a Ti Tipped Vapcap. There are no glass bits to break.

The older pre-order Omni used to include an extra glass body along with the standard titanium body as @little maggie mentions. It's purpose was to allow the first time user the ability to see how the inner condenser works. I'm not sure if they include the extra glass body anymore.

Seems that I read on here that they make a "body" Omni. One that uses a body instead of a stem. Is that so?
I can't express how much I enjoy "The DynaVap System". I love microdosing. It's the most economical vape I have found. It's like driving a sports car, (quick and fast). The bigger vapes are like driving my pickup, (slow and large).

@Winegums Thanks for the pics! Those VonGs are beautiful!!!

@phattpiggie That acrylic is stunning!

Be still my heart. You guys are a soooo talented! I love all these creative stems and bodies. They take the Vapcap to a level beyond any other vape. True customization and the creation of a vape collectible sure to drive any collector crazy and make their hearts swell and burst.

I need to learn to do this.... :) to create such beauty

The Omni midsection is a body. It is 45mm long and any 45mm body will fit. The Omnivap is 3.5 inches long.

The Omnivap XL is available upon request and it has a stem length midsection which is 62mm long. It is 4.25 inches long overall.

It's like driving a sports car, (quick and fast).

Exactly! The Vapcap is manual transmission 5 speed overdrive.

I was busy today and made 5 stems. I will pursue becoming an accessory maker and making my own thread tomorrow. For now here's today's progress. FYI they are not VonG bodies as the taper is not exactly correct.

Edit:After some testing it looks like they will work fairly well with a 14mm water piece as long as the joint is round at the top.

As requested by @Squiby here's some more progress photos. I went for an amphora feel with this one.
Gorgeous!!! cant wait to have one of those!
@Winegums turned out nice, here's a couple of before and an after, Indian Summer acrylic with Blackwood MP and 'hot end' adapter. Final polish with a piece of Yew.
A bit more info and stuff in the shed.

In another life I went to a lot of raves (huge dnb fan here) and I really regret not having something like the Omnivap back then. Lots of wasted burnt (burned?) weed, such a shame.

That's great, I really like your work. Would love a proper VonG adapter.

@VapCap given your new machining equipment would be possible to make a proper metal on glass attachment for the Omnivap that keeps the adjustable air flow feature? I'm thinking about something like the Lotus WPA that goes in place of the regular Omni mouthpiece.

@lemmeadem All I can say at the moment is the new caps are shorter I can't say whether they perform differently, I've got a new one and will do some side by sides and see what I find.

@Hogni Acrylic Porn, with Ti.
Minus the tip the stem measures 99mm. I aim for 100mm/4"'ish lengths on most of the stuff I've been doing.
WIXQVO2.jpg

The whole stem was wet and dry sanded with a 600 grit which for most woods gives a very nice finish. Blackwood and Acrylic can be taken right thru the finest of grits. The Purpleheart one was 240 grit.

Both had a few runs over with this off cut of Yew. The dark mark is where I applied a lot of pressure to try and get a better color from the Purpleheart.
I am amazed at the quality of finish that can be had using another piece of wood, and no dust.

Some of my glass pieces are not the most expensive in the world.
I happened to be in my "LHS" at the same time as another customer was buying hookah parts. He bought what was called grommets. They are little cone shaped silicone gaskets. I bought one to try.
My VapCap Vongs are perfectly round, my glass not so round. Leaks around the joint. This is a great solution for adapter leaks. Doc

You guys are confusing me. I need a way to remember which is which. Stem and body are not descriptive enough. Remembering all this stuff, then vaping is like waking up to a whole new day.
I have an original "Omni". It has a short, (I don't know what to call it). I want to use a longer, (I don't know what to call it). Do I want an "Omni XL"?
Sorry for the confusion. Just trying to be politically correct. Doc
