.. I can't use the vapcap if I'm blasting music! Or can I? ..
I have to admit I've been a little naughty with the clicks lately..
So, there's the heat up click, and a cooldown click which resets the mechanism. I'm pretty familiar with my setup, and know that after the cooldown click, re-heating takes about 3~4 seconds with my specific torch. I often don't bother waiting that extra few seconds for the cooldown click, and give it a little 3 second heat up (the lower end of my re-heat time). I've seen this mentioned here before, and it makes sense. I haven't combusted yet doing this but I'll add that I'm using the new rounded groove style tip I DIYed out of an older tip. I find the tip a bit more forgiving which is why I have the confidence to do this. This enables me to pace my puffs the way I like, but it's playing with fire, so extra precaution is needed.
The new style tip is my current go-to. It's definitely more refined. I have to give it an extra cycle or two over the non-rounder groove tip since there's definitely less conduction. I'm also loving the bit of color I gave it which is easy for anyone here to do. Just remove the o-rings from the tip, stand it up on some brick, and torch the fins with your jet lighter. A few seconds with a multi-jet, and you'll get some blue. LET IT COOL DOWN BEFORE TOUCHING IT. Also, don't let your lighter over-heat. Do a little section, let it cool down, then do another part.
@phattpiggie those longer stems of yours look great!
Not sure if this is relevant with wood stems, but my 20cm Ti stem resonates the click. I can feel and hear it better. The length lets the vapor cool down a bit too. Loving this long stem
