@stark1, so what are your 1st impressions of the 7 fin tip?

I completely agree, the carb hole is placed way to high causing me to feeling it's imbalanced. That's why I have a custom stem coming to replace the omni stem. It actually has the hole placed 4mm below the stem's centerpoint. I don't know if the placement will be too low, but I went with my gut & took a chance. I also had it made with a larger carb hole. If worse comes to worse & it needs to be refined further, I'll just have another one made. And, I can't explain why, but I think the triangle-shaped hole is odd.

analytika, does "rotating the carb on inhale to strobe it" mean that instead of feathering your index finger or thumb up and down, you're rolling the barrel so that the carb is opening & closing is a sliding turning motion? Not well described, but I think you know what I mean.

A Masarati of @VapCap ‘s home brew tips (in haus)..... :p

Yes @Summer. I'm rolling back and forth at the center of gravity between thumb and forefinger. To control whether the carb is fully, partially or not-at-all sealed by my forefinger. Maybe 10 degrees range of rotation.. I don't see much value in restricting the draw by dialing down the condenser any more, this works so well.

First of all, to all the fellers and lasses sharing pictures: thank you. I love them all. @Winegums that is sick. Love it, it's so classy and timeless.

Ok, so I got my M tonight and ran one bowl and got blitzed. Decided to do a high temp try with some AVB a little later...and both were extremely successful. M takes longer to heat up, but cools down slower as I have seen others note. In this regard I like the titanium tip better.
The body fits the condenser and o ring much better than my og Woody body did. It comes apart and goes together with ease. Very nice.
However, the width of the body is ever so slightly different than the Woody, but enough so that it doesn't seal as well with glass. I tried the fat mouthpiece and it seals alright, but the carb hole is too close to the mouthpiece for my finger to easily seal it. I tried a silicone section on the M to make a seal with glass, and it is not something I will do again. It sits way way too deep into the joint for me to be comfortable. It's metal, after all.
Then there's the fat mouthpiece. I will not be using this again because it whistles every damn time I blow through it to clear the bowl. It made me laugh and then went away.

I love love love the body of the m. I will be getting a ti tip at some point, cause I like it better than the ss tip. I wish I had a better method to make a seal with glass when using the m.

P.S. I just had a thought....it would be cool if there was an M+ that came with a titanium tip at a premium. That would be cool. Overall though, I've very happy with my purchase. It's different than the woody, but not that much different. I have herculean lung capacity and I cannot draw click to click open carb with the stainless steel tip. I'll adjust. ;0

I think @Ratchett may have what you're looking for in his shop.

I have the 18mm version of this that was originally designed for the Mighty/Crafty and I can confirm it fits the M or any other 10mm Dynavap mouth piece.

An all Ti M would be a cool limited edition.

Shameless crosspost from the Vape Temp Profile Charts Thread.

I just charted a VapCap M being heated by @Pipes Jarhead induction heater.

I had to use a makeshift screen that I poked a hole into, but I got the sensor right about where I wanted it.

I then filled it with herb and ran the test. You'll notice that the first draw actually brings more heat into the bowl, while the second takes heat out of it.

I plan on running a similar test with the Ti Omni for comparison's sake. :science:

freakin' magic dude! I was actually worried that hitting a vapcap would always start hotter and cool down.. also happy to know that it heats up as you hit it w/ the induction heater

Anyone here prefer the regular omnivap size to the xl? Starting to argue with me whether i made the right decision given i already have a dynastash haha

I can't tell because I've never had a standard size one. Mine is an XL and I'm very happy with it. However, the difference between the models is tiny (17mm), so I would not worry much about it.

@Sinnoah I don't think there's a "bad" decision to be made here mate. @Willy really detailed why. IIRC, I have read others posts saying they preferred the Omni's length compared to the OmniXLs. Up until now, I've only had the M but I do have an OmniXL waiting at the PO for me to pick up! But that wouldn't be a fair comparison. Between you and me, there are plenty of nutters around here with both. :mental: :ninja:

@Stu I love seeing your reports popping up on so many threads. Thanks for doing this for us and making me feel more scientific as I read your findings and check out the data of the charts. You've really put a lot of energy into this project, very cool and helpful for me in understanding what's going on. The other day as I looked at more of your temp charts, I wondered if we aren't looking at "vape signature" maybe? At least a contributing factor as to how/why a specific vape has a certain effect, beyond the material it delivers?

So many great pics and posts here lately, I've really been enjoying it. My compromised immune system has let me down again so I've haven't been around. Now you know that's really sick because I love me some DynaVap love and VC pictures and stories. I'm waiting on a call right now to find out if I start a new round of heavy-duty antibiotics or go to hospital. :ugh: My dogs don't understand why I'm not up for walkies!

Am I the only asshole who increased his consumption since the switch to vaping?

I don't think you're alone. At the beginning of vaping, I liked it so much it would do it more often (the same is happening now with my new OmniVap, unfortunately). But once I got used to it, I reduced the amount used (and the same will happen this time, I hope).

I average 0.6g a day using mainly my vapcaps, I've tried to slow down but it never really works out. I tried the micro dosing game but it never quite satisfies me. My over all consumption has been reduced by about 40% since I started vaping which is still a huge win.

Same here.MDing never quite satisfies me .
Also I use the same amount like you, more or less .
Sometimes might be .4 gr dia ,other times it climbs up to .8 gr dia.
But ,yeah,my average comsumption with the VC is .6 gr/dia ,
which is rather great ( 4,2 gr per week ).
When I used to do joints (always mixed with tobacco ) my average weekly
comsumption was more than 10 grams :ko:
(Assuming load quality remains at same level ) .
Small but important detail : The "high" from vaporising is far more "vivid" ,"crystal clear" ,"crisp" and of course longer lasting, than the high induced by the poisonous and harmful "mixed" greek joints.

Cheers.

What do we exactly consider micro-dosing? I thought that 0.05 to 0.1 per bowl already was so... If not, I don't think how micro-dosing really feels like yet. With the FocusVape Pro I reduced the amount I was vaping (not by a lot, but I certainly did a tiny bit). And I expect some sort of reduction again.

I agree 120% with the words you used to describe the high. Yet, are you sure its longer?

Best,

Ohhh yeah! I'm sure about it.
Significantly longer.

Thank you! And don't worry. If anyone has the Omni, I'm willing to see how I should adjust the airflow, since I do it by effectively separating the mouthpiece of the stem a bit. I don't seem to be able to do it in any other way, literally.

Easy: when you adjust your condenser, look to see if the mouthpiece has pushed away from the stem/body; if it has, PUSH IT BACK DOWN.

See? Easy!

ALSO, people need to remember that the Omni mouthpiece IS NOT a "spinning" mouthpiece - it is one part of a two-piece internal unit. Those two pieces turn in relation to EACH OTHER, but neither one spins at all. I think this misapprehension makes it hard for some to make a useful picture in their heads of what's happening...and therefore, how to use it.

The amount of material used per dose when Micro dosing is specific to the person. For some it might be a full vapcap, for others it might mean 1/4 pinch of material that barely covers the CCD. The goal of micro dosing is not increasing your amount consumed, keeping your tolerance at a steady level, and managing your medical/recreational needs with the minimal amount necessary. Some people really love it and swear by their regimen, I applaud them as it is something I cannot keep up.

The vapcap is a great tool for MDing since it is small and works great for very tiny amounts. Some vapes have a minimum amount of material needed or they don't perform properly.

I maxi-dose with all my vapes. ;)
i do less at a time than I used to combust, but my frequency has picked up.
It's a lot of work trying to make all these vapes daily drivers. :haw:

I don't see much value in restricting the draw by dialing down the condenser any more, this works so well.
This was my thought my first month or so with the Omni, but plenty of value in dialing in the sweet spot.
Ease of not having to locate the carb at all is huge, especially in dark situations. Tasty hits cooled to your liking with your preferred amount of air mixed into the vapor as you inhale. The stealth factor of not having your hand by your mouth/face the whole time and having your hands free to do other tasks as you pull comes in handier than you would think.
Give it a go. You can always open it back up again.
